I've come here a few times now that I know it exists! It's snugged in the middle of the down town area. I've seen it's awning a few times but Pappy's doesn't provide much context as to what it is from the outside. I found out about this place speaking with a caregiver at my sons daycare after mentioning I was planning on going for smoothies with my son after school. She said, "where pappy's!?" And I said, "what's that?!" I planned to go to Glen Rock for smoothies until I was told about this gem! I'm glad I mentioned it and now know about Pappy's. Admittedly, I've only gone for their "blends" aka smoothies. I'm looking forward to trying their other offerings but honestly, I crave their smoothies!! Their fruit punch is unbelievable. They make smoothies with more of a tropical fruit approach than any other place I've been to. I highly suggest going, the place is family owned/run and they're always super friendly. It's more of a concessions stand vibe with a few stools to sit along the perimeter of the store. I love supporting a family owned business especially one that does it for the right reasons! There were plenty of great sounding choices but I settled on a takeout order of the sour pucker juice and a Caesar "chicken" wrap . WOW first off great prices $11 for both so much more reasonable than the garbage chain owned "juice" bars out there. The food is always good at Pappy's no matter what you get and the people that work are the absolute nicest. Tonight I got the bridge burger and it was so good. You can just tell every single ingredient on the burger is of high quality. It's really hard to find good vegan sauces sometimes, and the special sauce on the burger was amazing. The fries were fresh and hot and reminded me of the way boardwalk fries used to be. Every single person in the restaurant greets you and is more than accommodating. The food is overpriced and their burgers are advertised as "Beyond" the meat branded when they are NOT. I believe they are using field roast or some other gluten based burger patty brand that is cheaper that Beyond the Meat. Also they don't even include fries as a side with your burger and have to pay extra for them (I think 4 or 5 bucks). Altogether for two burgers, two green juice drinks, and one fry it was almost $50 bucks. I could've gotten a real beyond the meat burger from Burger King with fries and a drink for like $7.50. What a great addition to the neighborhood. The proprietor was so friendly and patient, as I tried to get a grip on my options. My smoothie was amazing, and although I'd already eaten lunch that day, I'll be back there this week, for sure, to try one of the many interesting vegan menu items. He also gave me a sample of a "hot apple pie" drink that involved oats, and it was delicious. There were two other customers in there and it was a really cordial environment. My one complaint is that the food takes FOREVER! CALL AHEAD!! The cauliflower wings are out of this world. I've tried almost everything on the menu and it's all great! I was driving down the street with my girlfriend wondering if there were any juice bars in the area. I checked Yelp and see a couple listed including "Pappy's Juice Bar." Suddenly my girlfriend starts coughing and choking! Instinctively I realize that Pappy's Juice Bar is the only thing that can save her life, so I floor it. We quickly find a parking space and rush inside so that I can get her the juice. There was a variety of juice to choose from, and also smoothies. We asked for a recommendation from Pappy's wife (sorry I don't remember her name). It was a very hot day during the summer and a large group of children were outside the juice bar with water guns, shooting at cars and each other. Needless to say it was both chaotic and entertaining, as they often came inside to refill their water guns behind the counter. Finally I acquired the life-saving juice, and my girlfriend drank it gladly. As if my day hadn't already been made, Pappy himself graced us with his presence! He made a comment about "young love" and then gave us free relationship advice. I won't share it here, so you'll have to visit Pappy to hear his sage wisdom for yourself. My girlfriend and I then drank our juice and talked for an hour as the chaos of the ongoing water war unfolded around us. The only downside to the experience was that the only place to sit inside is a tiny counter against the wall with stools. This made it difficult to talk as we had to twist our bodies in order to face each other, and after an hour we both left with with back pain. Still, it was a very positive and memorable experience.
