Always saw this empanada stand at the Tarrytown farmers market (have not gone to their actual restaurant). I was sick of the usual breakfast options and saw them set up, so decided to kick this a try. I love empanadas, and the only reason I hadn't tried it yet was because it was relatively pricey. They were nice and got me packed up quick. Got a chicken and a beef empanada. For the first time ever, I preferred the chicken to the beef. Not that the beef was bad, it was also solid, however the chicken was a cut above. With a bit of salsa, this was a much better lunch than usual. So yea we ordered empanadas again maybe a week or two after the first try. This time we had dessert! Very good empanadas, small operation, she cares highly about the quality of her hand made food, and there is a great selection of rotating fillings. I got the mushroom, and chicken/bacon/cheese. I could eat the mushroom all day, the filling is reduced down so much it gives the empanada a meaty quality. The chicken was not dry at all and the bacon was crispy. We were throwing a last minute pool party on a Friday night and decided empanadas would be an awesome thing to serv. We contacted Joyce and she was incredibly responsive and despite having a 1 week order ahead rule, accommodated us with 6 trays!!she was so helpful in making suggestions and letting me know how to best serve them. i cant describe how delicious they were!!
