The foam pits at the ninja course at pretty shallow and could ideally be twice as deep if not more. And there is very little actual supervision- kids climbing up slides, throwing balls at each other, racing around without any regard for smaller kids. We got here Saturday at 10 AM right when they open and the place was a little busy at first and then pretty busy probably like 50 people total (parents with kids - there was a bday party) But there are still a lot of space to move around with parents and the kids. I was able to interact with her on pretty much everything going up and down the slide climbing ropes, playing with giant Legos and the ball pit. it was so much fun. Our niece is 2 and the big kids were super respectful of her speed on the larger equipment. This place is socks only and it was super clean! Our white socks were still pretty white when we got home. It's an hour and 45 minutes from DC in West Virginia, which is a plus and there's a little town nearby, but the actual facilities is not very good. The grounds has strict rules and the food will make you run. It wasn't cheap to go here so you'd think the food would be decent, but they serve you small portions and it's as if they tried to make it the worst food you'll ever eat. Literally, sooooooooooooooooooo bad. There's enough retreat centers near DC to avoid this one.

The staff was great with the kids and my students had a blast. They have a number of runs to use and plentynof staff to ensure safety of the participants. They show a safety video and debrief expectations before tubing begins. In addition to vending machines they also have an alehouse on top to order food and drink. The food is on the expensive side and they only sell combos (ex: burger with fries grilled cheese with soup). Students and staff definitely had a good time and would definitely go visit again.

We roasted marshmallows and had a picnic by the fire pit as the sun went down making it a great date Our only issue was we checked in for our fire pit at 4 and the maintenance team didn't get it lit until 4:25 (and that's after we called back).

Where do I start... the tee boxes don't even have grass, either weeds or dirt (they should rotate…read morethem to let the grass heal, seems like they don't). To add, if you want to use a tee you'll probably need to put a hammer in your bag just to get it in the ground. The greens are poorly maintained, even the fairways, half the time you're hitting off of dirt. If you like dirt trails, hiking them, not actively golfing off them, it's probably a nice place for a free leisurely walk. Additionally, noting on all that I said, it's $35 to play 18 with a cart. Take $35, multiplied by everyone that plays daily, and none of that money is being contributed to improving the course. Overall, I've played at municipal courses that are 100x better AND cheaper, so, I'm not sure what their net sales are going towards but, it's not to make the business/course any better. PS. The service is really bad too. On top of all of this, rude employees, and... AND, we were first in line to get a cart, but, apparently 2 groups magically appeared out of the dirt, and we had to wait even longer just to get started because they "were there before us" when... they were not.

This is a lovely little venue, perfect for hosting small parties. In the summer of 2014, we flew…read moreto West Virginia from Arizona to scope out a place for our son's wedding rehearsal dinner. We selected the Train Station, and over the next year, we finalized all of the arrangements through phone and email. The event in May 2015 was a great success. HOWEVER, it was successful IN SPITE of the problems. A quick review of problems: The recommended caterer, Susan, tried to take advantage of the long distance. We switched to a new caterer, but Susan had become a member of the board and we still had to work with her. When we asked for a refund of the kitchen fee (since we would no longer be using the kitchen) we were told there was no record of it. Fortunately, we kept a copy of the check. We purchased our own linens, floor length table cloths, overlays, napkins, everything to match the current color pattern in the station. Susan was quite aware of this. And yet, when we arrived to set up for the event, the interior had been freshly painted in new colors. Fortunately, the linens still looked okay with the new beige and brown interior. The bathrooms were still the old color and the smell of paint was overwhelming, so it was clear that the painting project was actually in progress and we were interrupting it. We did our best to air the place out so our guests wouldn't be breathing paint fumes. Since our event was scheduled long ago, (and no other events were scheduled for weeks before ours), it should have been painted weeks earlier OR they should have waited one more week until our event was over. In addition, the place was not clean. The bathrooms were dirty and dusty, with overflowing paper towel disposal bins and full trash cans. The toilet paper dispenser was empty. There were new rolls, but no key to open the dispensers. In the main room, the garbage bins had not been emptied, but since it is basically a large empty room, there was no other issue in that area. When we brought out the tables to set up, some were sticky and had to be washed. So basically, we had to clean the place before our event, and then clean it again afterwards to meet the requirements for the return of our security deposit. Now that the event is over, and we have returned to Arizona, I am still waiting for the return of my security deposit. I have left several phone messages, but I do not get return calls. Overall, I believe that if you live in that area, this would be a beautiful, historical, and interesting place to hold an event. I would NOT recommend trying to work with it long distance, and I would recommend that you double and triple check everything, since there is a bit of an integrity issue with those you will need to deal with.

This was not Division III ball, but a great defensive struggle on the field by both teams with the boxcars pulling it out in the end! Exciting game, with great seats, excellent staff support and we loved the bingo game, just wish there were more prizes as game was called right before we had a pinch hitter to complete 5 across. As for the other component of the game - the food, we had burgers, fries, ice cream, burnt end sausages, Hot and plan nuts, beer, soda, plain dogs and bottle water. Everything was fresh, quick to be given to us when ordered and tasted delicious. We did stay away from the crab cake sandwiches as we witnessed and saw that the chicken was heavily overcooked and the crab cake topping was scant at best. During a previous visit my friend took his back and asked for a plain grilled chicken which was obviously cooked in advanced and hot held of 140 degrees till it was drier than the Sahara desert. Sticking to the visitor side of the concession areas offers a better selection and price point for what is offered and served up. Will try the chicken again at a later time, but it was way over priced for small dry piece of chicken with crab spread that was too runny and hidden inside a much larger bun. Parking was excellent, right near the field with plenty of signage showing where to park and enter the ball-field. Clean location with clean bathrooms too, and polite security and police enforcement at each gate. Looking forward to catching another game!
