Oh Lodi! it's these events that make you so amazing! I love the light parade. I love seeing all the kids on the floats and hanging out with awesome friends in front of Fields Family Winery Downtown Tasting Room & Wine Bar. This year was by far the best. The weather wasn't freezing cold as in past years. No rain either. The best float was the Pacific Coast Producers Polar Express float. It really looked like a train! We cannot wait until next year!

The first place float again this year, Pacific Coast Producers, Polar Express.

We also ordered the mussels and calamari. The mussels in the tomato sauce they came in were absolutely delicious! I was worried I wouldn't like the calamari because I'm not a fan of steak-cut calamari, but it was soooo good! You could really tell it was freshly breaded and fried. We also ordered the M&M pizza and the Super [something--I forgot the name ]. Both pizzas were crispy, with a moist and soft crust. 5/5 pizza! For dessert, we got the tiramisu and chocolate gelato, and both were really good. The chocolate gelato is HUGE and definitely shareable. The restaurant is super cute! I recommend sitting outside for a different atmosphere. We didn't realize the outdoor patio was still enclosed, so we ended up sitting inside. I wish we had sat outside! The service was okay. Our server was nice, but between the assistant server and our server, there were a few times when we felt left unattended. Maybe they thought they each checked on us ‍ I definitely recommend this place, and we will be coming back!

For a laid-back lifestyle and growing families, this might be a place you'll consider. It still has a mediocre small town feel. New residences are still being developed, so housing is available. There are a good amount of grocery stores and shopping plazas with restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, milk tea cafes, schools, and various necessary, local or daily services. There's enough. If you choose a more upbeat pace, there's Stockton southbound, or Sacramento northbound. A less busier international airport is under an hour away. The drawback is, for commutes, you need a car. The BART system hasn't extended out this far yet. It wouldn't be feasible for me to accept employment over an hour's drive away. During my visit to my sister's place, there was pleasant weather. Aside from a surprise electrical storm passing through, I saw mostly blue skies, fluffy clouds, and a bright sun. (Until this city improves their public transportation availability, I'll postpone any decision to move closer to family.) Those were, however, perfect and beautiful days at the beginning of autumn.

She was truly so knowledgeable about the wines and super hospitable as well. I appreciated her warm, amiable disposition. It truly made one of the greatest highlights during this visit. I decided to explore around the property. It was beyond gorgeous with beautiful decorations, blooming plants, water fountains + ponds, and so much more. The space was so inviting, it was a great atmosphere, especially for a date or to hang out with friends. Overall, I was amazed by the tasty, house-made wines and dazzling ambiance. I highly recommend stopping by.

They have a restaurant on premise that serves great farm to Fork meals. Everything is delicious but I highly recommend the chicken tortilla soup. One of the best I've ever had. The service is also excellent. In addition, on the outside patios on weekends they have a pizza oven and you can get fresh pizza. They also have food to go, and their pies are legendary Of course, they have a wine club which we have been members of for several years now and that's always a great deal if you like wines on a regular basis. Parking is phenomenal as they have a large area for parking. This is a great place to come for a party such as a birthday party or to meet friends and just hang out for the day.

The food was incredibly bland and didn't taste like authentic Italian cuisine at all. The trio plate was especially disappointing. The Alfredo had almost no sauce and absolutely no flavor, and the pesto tasted like it came straight from a jar. Overall, everything was just mediocre and lacked the rich, fresh flavors you'd expect from an Italian restaurant. The service was painfully slow throughout the meal, and to make matters worse, there wasn't any wine, beer, or other alcohol available, which was surprising for an Italian restaurant. The dining room was also uncomfortably hot. It appears they only use wall-mounted air conditioning units, and they weren't keeping up, making it difficult to enjoy the meal. The only reason I'm giving this an extra star is because the green beans served with the chicken Marsala were actually pretty good. Unfortunately, one good side dish wasn't enough to make up for the long wait, bland food, slow service, and uncomfortable atmosphere. I won't be returning.

Our friends came back with so many great things to say, we had to try it for ourselves. My wife, our 10 year old son, and I made an appointment for the three of us to take a lesson at Lodi Lake on a Saturday morning several weeks ago. We were met at the boat ramp by the crew from LDPC and immediately made to feel welcome by them. We were given instructions and safety tips before hitting the water and then fitted with gear appropriate for our beginner skill level. The LDPC crew led us on a paddle around Lodi Lake so we could get our "sea legs" before heading out onto the Mokelumne River. We were given constant, but low pressure, instruction while we were on the water and made to feel safe 100% of the time. They also took lots of pictures of our family while we were on the water and later emailed them to us at no additional cost! We found the LDPC crew to be super friendly, professional, and genuinely pleasant to be around. And, we had such an awesome time on the water, we decided to invest in new boards and all the other necessary gear after going out with LDPC just one time! After researching various options on the Internet, we decided to buy our gear from LDPC. When I called LDPC to tell them this, they offered to let our family demo any and all of their boards as many times as we wanted free of charge just so we could be certain of the gear we wanted to buy!! After demo'ing several boards, we made our selections and placed our order. The price was absolutely unbeatable (seriously, there's no way we could have gotten everything we did going with any other outfitter) and to top it off, they personally delivered all our gear to our home and gave us instructions in care and maintenance, handling, and setup!! The bottom line is that The LDPC crew is super friendly, professional, and genuinely pleasant to be around. They deliver top-notch service at crazy good prices. Go check them out, you'll be glad you did!!
