It's been happening for years and as a lifelong resident, I'm ashamed to admit 2011 was my first time to experience. This display is a gift to the San Joaquin Delta residents and friends. The giver, Barron Hilton. I understand he's a big river enthusiast too and has been enjoying the Delta for many years now. There's a duck club on the island and folks can get there by driving aboard the Venice Island ferry; two vehicles fit and service is swift and secure. Thanks Barron Hilton for sharing your love of our area and entertaining us every 4th-we really appreciate it!

Lodi Parade of Lights 12/05/2025…read more What a fun, festive & freezing experience. This was my first year bringing my daughter out. Now I know the do's & don'ts! We didn't get to Lodi until 615, this event starts 6:17pm. So we missed the first 25 mins or so (if it started on time) 25 mins driving looking for parking and driving in traffic, but the streets were packed. Just when I was ready to give up, I decide to circle back and found a space 1 block away! It was such a cool experience. Everyone out sitting on their lawn chairs, on the back of their trucks, standing. It was nice seeing the community all come out together. The light show was so creative. Snow falling from the trucks, Christmas music playing. Basically an advertisement for business, schools, etc. You know it's the end of the show when you see the fire truck with Santa & Mrs Claus on the back. Next year I know to come a couple hours or so early to get a good parking, bring a couple lawn chairs and maybe even a throw blanket! I'll also come with my hot chocolate already in hand. I can't wait to see what next year brings!

A local Holiday tradition by the City of Lodi that the whole family can enjoy!…read more Think of it as a cross between Disney's Main Street Electrical Parade and a normal small city parade. 60 or so floats put together with hundreds of Christmas lights going through the streets of Downtown Lodi! This year they even changed the start time to 6:17pm, just to make sure everyone would remember what time it starts. Only in Lodi...its what makes this town so cute. :0)

Delta Reflections Lighted Boat Parade -Saturday, December 7, 2013, 6-8 p.m…read more Location: McCloud Lake at the Downtown Waterfront, mwyc.org 2013 was the 31st year for the Stockton Delta Reflections Boat parade and it did not disappoint! Lots of folks braved the low 20's frosty night air to wait expectantly for the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department Boat to lead the pack of festively decorated boats. They shot their water hoses high up into the air, careful not to douse all the chilled onlookers or other boats in the lineup. They shone their green and red lights up towards the spray to create a beautiful icy rainbow. Many other entrants cruised by many dressed in Santa attire and called out gleefully to the crowd, "Merry Christmas"! The onlookers respond in kind and added a nice round of applause. The Boat Parade is one Christmas tradition I hope will always be around.

I bought a bunch of really cool items and one of them was a hand made, engraved fridge magnet. I also met several artist in ceramics and wood working who works with their craft at a shared creative space in downtown Stockton. They also had live music which I enjoyed just sitting down listening while admiring the nice waterfront overlooking the sailboat. I had a great time here and would come back again. Best of all, the San Joaquin Bike Coalition provided a place to valet park our bikes. Very worthwhile visit. Cheers!

The dim sum is always a big hit so make sure you come early before they run out! The lion dance at the beginning is always a crowd pleaser. I remember when they use to light up and throw real fire crackers during the lion dance. With the parade now on the same day is a huge plus for this event.
