    Dragonfruit Italian Cream Soda

My fiancé and I drive by Nona's often and finally decided to try it out. It was a nice quiet Thursday afternoon, so we were quickly seated. Service was great! Our server was very attentive and made sure everything was well. We had the Nona's trio + side of grilled chicken, chicken marsala, and the dragonfruit Italian cream soda. The Nona's trio was delicious! Creamy, light, and the flavors worked well together. 10/10 The side of grilled chicken was very juicy and cooked well. Our only complaint was that the sauce was too sour for our liking. 8/10 The chicken marsala was also delicious with a creamy and savory sauce. The chicken was soft and cooked well. It also came with a side of crispy roasted potatoes and sautéed green beans. Both complimented the chicken well. 10/10 Dragonfruit Italian cream soda had a delicious flavor, we just wished there was more of the soda than ice and whipped cream. 4/5 Overall, would definitely recommend and will be going again with friends/family!

Thoroughly enjoy eating at Nona's. I have been here a few times and the food is consistently delicious. The restaurant is clean and provides an intimate environment to have a nice family dinner. You can taste the quality in the ingredients, well balanced sauces and fresh produce. Our steaks were cooked perfectly to how we ordered and the garlic butter on top took them to the next level. The minestrone soup was a great starter, warm and comforting, note that it does contain meat. My husband ordered a Caesar salad as one of his sides with his steak and it was huge and delicious. We left full and with a ton of leftovers. There were a few other families in the restaurant, but I hope they continue to get consistent business. Compared to some other similar restaurants in the area the food here is just as good, if not better, and the restaurant staff are friendly and attentive.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at Nona was disappointing from start to finish because of the lack of customer service and hospitality. Our waitress barely checked on our table throughout the meal. We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer, but it came out burnt. When we sent it back, instead of apologizing or offering to replace it, the waitress told us it was supposed to be that way because otherwise "the tomatoes would make it soggy." That response was dismissive and unprofessional. Things got worse when our entrees arrived. One of the pasta dishes had a large pool of oil underneath the pasta. After only a few bites, I noticed how excessive it was and asked the waitress to take it back. Rather than addressing the issue, she told us we would be charged because the dish was "half eaten." She never offered to remake it until we specifically asked. After speaking with the kitchen, she came back and said they would charge us both to remake the dish and for the original one as well. Charging a customer for replacing a meal that was prepared poorly is unacceptable. Throughout the entire experience, it felt like there was an excuse for every issue we brought up instead of any effort to resolve it. Rather than listening to our concerns or trying to make things right, the waitress became defensive, which only made the situation worse. Good customer service is about finding solutions, not adding fuel to the fire. To make matters even more uncomfortable, we could clearly see staff members watching us from behind the counter and in the kitchen while whispering to each other. It made us feel unwelcome and judged instead of cared for as paying customers. If this restaurant wants to succeed and keep customers coming back, they need to invest in customer service training. A restaurant's reputation isn't built on food alone it's built on how customers are treated when something goes wrong. Building positive relationships with customers is what earns repeat business. For a family-owned restaurant that's still establishing itself, hospitality should be a priority. Unfortunately, our experience showed the complete opposite, and because of that, we won't be returning.

Right at entrance to this location we were hit with a foul smell in resemble to a bad sewer line. Lasted about a good ten minutes. Pushed through that and was able to be seated and placed out drink and food orders. We were the only guests in the restaurant during our while visit. Our meal was decent as we chose to share a Wagyu burger and some fries. Service was fair and nice for this visit. This is an establishment I'm sure does well. I would just really be concerned around the smell the enters as it is unwelcoming and could deter customers.

I was so excited to come here and try it but it was definitely a fail. Idk if I just picked a bad day or what. My pasta was so greasy I couldn't eat. Ate the chicken but I should of just not. The other people I was with complained of their chicken been thick and hard due to being over cooked. So dinner was definitely a fail. Positive points the mussels were good, bread good, tea good. The waitress was nice and you can tell she was working hard. The place is very cute inside. I think this might be a good spot for just apps and drinks.

    Bruschetta

The food here was FANTASTIC. The bread of the bruschetta was the perfect texture--the bottom was crunchy enough to hold everything up, but the top was nice and soft with a little toasting. I had the pasta alla carbonara and the pancetta was perfectly crisped but still had a chewy bite to it! So heavenly. And the pasta and sauce were so rich. We were very pleasantly surprised. Our only small complaint was the service. Our server seemed pretty slow to do everything, only working on one table at a time. She may have been new, we weren't sure. The environment was pretty nice and we had a lovely time. We would definitely go back!

Excellent food, excellent service, and happy customers who talked with us about how great the food was! Overall great experience in my opinion The bruschetta was very good and fresh, my eggplant parm was delicious, and the shrimp scampi was 11/10!

I tried Nona's Kitchen in Lodi and the food and atmosphere were the best part of the whole experience. The restaurant feels cozy, welcoming, and clean, with comfortable seating and a warm, homey vibe. The big windows and lights make it feel open and relaxing. The food was excellent. The pesto pasta, Alfredo, and lasagna were all flavorful and fresh. The salad was generous and well made, and the calamari was crispy without being greasy. You can tell the kitchen cares about what they're making. The only thing that could be better is the service. Our waitress was very quiet, didn't check in much, and never offered dessert or asked how things were. Nothing rude, just very minimal. With food this good, a little more warmth and engagement from the staff would make the experience perfect. Overall, I would definitely come back. Great food, great atmosphere, and just a little room for improvement on the service side.

Been wanting to go here for about a year. Reading the reviews was very hard to say what to expect. Restaurant super clean and service great. Not crowded at all was disappointing. We had the trio pasta dish with lasagna, pesto and fettuccine Alfredo. Fettuccine was good and also lasagna. Pesto meh.We also had calamari appetizer which was good but not over the top. Others with us had lasagna and egg plant parm. We also had warm bread really good and brshetta. No alcohol especially wine is a turn off to any Italian restaurant. That is like pizza and no beer. Overall pleased with dinner but we will not be back for dinner until we can enjoy the meal with wine.

Excellent food and service. Best minestrone I've ever had. Deep and rich flavor. I'm certain this gem is hopping during Lodi wine season.

So glad I finally checked out Nona's! The atmosphere was kind of bland, but both myself & my husband thoroughly enjoyed our food. My husband ordered the chicken Florentine, which was served with grilled veggies & potatoes. It was delicious & such a huge portion! I had the pasta trio & it was also a massive portion & really good! Our server was so sweet & offered us a complimentary Italian soda & it was delicious (definitely worth trying, trust me)! Give this place a chance & you won't regret it!

I kept driving past this restaurant so I decided to try it out. The place is casual, modestly decorated. The hostess told us that they've been open for about 3 months. We ordered the calamari appetizer. Comes with tartar and cocktail sauce. Our orders came within a reasonable time. Our server was friendly and attentive. We had the lasagna which my daughter liked. My wife had the chicken florentine which unfortunately tasted bland. I enjoyed the chicken picatta; I wish the chicken had been grilled instead of pan seared but it tasted good. It also came with really good fried whole potatoes. Overall the food was good but couldn't ignore heavy cooking fumes coming from the kitchen. Perhaps their smoke hood wasn't working ? I would give this restaurant 3.5 starts and perhaps another look in the near future.

We ordered a meatball sandwich to share along with a bag of chips and two drinks. We had ordered a #6 which we were charged for, but didn't really get the supposed complimentary sides. No big deal. The meatball sandwich really didn't figure into that equation anyway. The sandwich made from scratch and warmed nicely with oozing mozzarella cheese was simply delicious. What impressed me most was it was not made with a red tomato sauce but rather a brown sauce. That's something one sees a lot in the Italian influenced communities in and around New Orleans. What's nice is the brown sauce doesn't overwhelm the tastiness of the meatballs which were plump and quite delicious. Have a lot of napkins as it gets messy. Overall it was a good experience. We sat inside, where the space features exposed brick, artwork throughout, and very comfortable seating... my partner specifically pointed that out. The layout includes a mix of seating areas, which gives it a more relaxed, layered feel. The bar area, known as the Ghost Lounge, adds a darker, more lounge-like element to the overall atmosphere. Service was excellent. Our server, Lacy, was friendly, attentive, and witty - easily one of the best servers we've had in a while. For drinks, I had a local Oak Farm red wine that was excellent. Others in our group had mimosas, which were well received... especially the grapefruit mimosa, which my partner really enjoyed. For food, there were several highlights. My partner had the chicken and waffles and loved it; I tried some and would agree it was very good. Another person in our group ordered the steak breakfast tacos, which came as a set of three. They only ate two, and I had the third and it was delicious and something I would recommend. Another in our group had the eggs Benedict and thought it was excellent. I had the biscuits and gravy with fried eggs. It was okay, but not something I would go out of my way to order again. In terms of value, prices felt consistent with the quality of the food, service, and overall setting. It's not a budget brunch spot, but it feels appropriate for the experience. Overall, it was a really enjoyable Easter brunch with great service, a comfortable and well-designed interior, and several strong menu items. I'd rate it a 4 out of 5, though if half-points were an option, this would land closer to a 4.5. We'd definitely come back.

With how expensive dining out is these days, it seemed like a great deal. The restaurant itself is very small, with just a few tables and booths, and it's located in a small strip of businesses with street parking nearby. We were served bread and butter while waiting, and the food came out quickly. The $20 special included a salad, chicken scallopini, and molten lava cake for dessert. The salad was actually the highlight--simple mixed greens with blue cheese crumbles and balsamic vinaigrette, but fresh and flavorful. Unfortunately, the entrée was a big disappointment. The chicken scallopini was very bland. The lemon white wine sauce helped a little, but not enough to save it. The mashed potatoes tasted like runny boxed potatoes, and the peas and carrots seemed like they came straight from a can. Dessert didn't redeem the meal either. The "molten" lava cake was underwhelming and nothing special. There was also a moment during dinner when a waiter accidentally bumped into my back while walking by. Accidents happen--I completely understand that. What bothered me was that he didn't acknowledge it right away or apologize until I turned around to see who had just smacked my back, and only then did he give a quick "oops, sorry." Maybe their regular menu dishes are fantastic and they cut corners for the $20 special--I don't know. But based on this overall experience, I don't really understand the high reviews, and I won't be back to find out.
