Right at entrance to this location we were hit with a foul smell in resemble to a bad sewer line. Lasted about a good ten minutes. Pushed through that and was able to be seated and placed out drink and food orders. We were the only guests in the restaurant during our while visit. Our meal was decent as we chose to share a Wagyu burger and some fries. Service was fair and nice for this visit. This is an establishment I'm sure does well. I would just really be concerned around the smell the enters as it is unwelcoming and could deter customers.

    Bruschetta

The food here was FANTASTIC. The bread of the bruschetta was the perfect texture--the bottom was crunchy enough to hold everything up, but the top was nice and soft with a little toasting. I had the pasta alla carbonara and the pancetta was perfectly crisped but still had a chewy bite to it! So heavenly. And the pasta and sauce were so rich. We were very pleasantly surprised. Our only small complaint was the service. Our server seemed pretty slow to do everything, only working on one table at a time. She may have been new, we weren't sure. The environment was pretty nice and we had a lovely time. We would definitely go back!

Excellent food, excellent service, and happy customers who talked with us about how great the food was! Overall great experience in my opinion The bruschetta was very good and fresh, my eggplant parm was delicious, and the shrimp scampi was 11/10!

I tried Nona's Kitchen in Lodi and the food and atmosphere were the best part of the whole experience. The restaurant feels cozy, welcoming, and clean, with comfortable seating and a warm, homey vibe. The big windows and lights make it feel open and relaxing. The food was excellent. The pesto pasta, Alfredo, and lasagna were all flavorful and fresh. The salad was generous and well made, and the calamari was crispy without being greasy. You can tell the kitchen cares about what they're making. The only thing that could be better is the service. Our waitress was very quiet, didn't check in much, and never offered dessert or asked how things were. Nothing rude, just very minimal. With food this good, a little more warmth and engagement from the staff would make the experience perfect. Overall, I would definitely come back. Great food, great atmosphere, and just a little room for improvement on the service side.

Been wanting to go here for about a year. Reading the reviews was very hard to say what to expect. Restaurant super clean and service great. Not crowded at all was disappointing. We had the trio pasta dish with lasagna, pesto and fettuccine Alfredo. Fettuccine was good and also lasagna. Pesto meh.We also had calamari appetizer which was good but not over the top. Others with us had lasagna and egg plant parm. We also had warm bread really good and brshetta. No alcohol especially wine is a turn off to any Italian restaurant. That is like pizza and no beer. Overall pleased with dinner but we will not be back for dinner until we can enjoy the meal with wine.

Excellent food and service. Best minestrone I've ever had. Deep and rich flavor. I'm certain this gem is hopping during Lodi wine season.

So glad I finally checked out Nona's! The atmosphere was kind of bland, but both myself & my husband thoroughly enjoyed our food. My husband ordered the chicken Florentine, which was served with grilled veggies & potatoes. It was delicious & such a huge portion! I had the pasta trio & it was also a massive portion & really good! Our server was so sweet & offered us a complimentary Italian soda & it was delicious (definitely worth trying, trust me)! Give this place a chance & you won't regret it!

    Fettuccini Alfredo

Italian is one of my favorite types of food to eat so I can be really judgy when trying a new Italian place but Nona's has become one of my go to places when craving Italian! I had their fettuccini and it was AMAZING! Super creamy, pasta cooked perfectly, lots of flavor, and the portion size was HUGE(I love being able to have leftovers the next day). If you're looking for authentic Italian food, I highly recommend Nona's!

I kept driving past this restaurant so I decided to try it out. The place is casual, modestly decorated. The hostess told us that they've been open for about 3 months. We ordered the calamari appetizer. Comes with tartar and cocktail sauce. Our orders came within a reasonable time. Our server was friendly and attentive. We had the lasagna which my daughter liked. My wife had the chicken florentine which unfortunately tasted bland. I enjoyed the chicken picatta; I wish the chicken had been grilled instead of pan seared but it tasted good. It also came with really good fried whole potatoes. Overall the food was good but couldn't ignore heavy cooking fumes coming from the kitchen. Perhaps their smoke hood wasn't working ? I would give this restaurant 3.5 starts and perhaps another look in the near future.

We tried Nona's for the first time this evening and the food was good. The restaurant is still new and it seems that they are still getting settled. The vibe was a little sterile but I'm sure it will warm up as time goes on. As of now, they don't have a beer and wine license yet. The service was great, very attentive and the food was good. My husband had the lasagna, which good and very filling. I had the carbonara which was very rich and definitely on the salty side, I could only finish about half of it. There are quite a few other menu items that we'd like to try so we'll definitely be back! Would I recommend Nona's to friends and family... Yes!!

Bad: Their "Kobe" burger was $29 or so and was a good portion size. The problem? Lacking any kind of flavor or seasoning. The beef was flavorless. The stroganoff was a good portion size but again it was severely lacking in the seasoning department. Good: Those who ordered the corn soup and the porcini mushroom ravioli enjoyed them. They especially enjoyed the sauce from the ravioli. The desserts overall were enjoyed by the table. The sticky toffee pudding, while not as rich as we are used to, was still relatively good; soft and moist enough. The dark chocolate oblong with mango passion fruit was enjoyed by everyone too. The interior remains unchanged; like a classy London gastropub. Service: communication is key. Where they dropped the ball was that we mentioned on the reservation that we were there for Father's Day and prime rib, which they do on Sundays. As you walk in you even see the sign for the prime rib special. We sat down and the server mentioned that there was no prime rib this weekend. I had even chatted with them on the reservation app and they made no mention of this. We could have gone somewhere else had we known in advanced. Our server was relatively nice too.

The ambiance isn't anything beyond a basic deli without any of the frills or specialty touches. It's just plain and a bit worn. Primarily known for Italian food this is where it apparently shines. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Navigating the menu was a little awkward as everything seems customized, which is fine but takes a bit to figure it out. We ordered a meatball sandwich to share along with a bag of chips and two drinks. We had ordered a #6 which we were charged for, but didn't really get the supposed complimentary sides. No big deal. The meatball sandwich really didn't figure into that equation anyway. The sandwich made from scratch and warmed nicely with oozing mozzarella cheese was simply delicious. What impressed me most was it was not made with a red tomato sauce but rather a brown sauce. That's something one sees a lot in the Italian influenced communities in and around New Orleans. What's nice is the brown sauce doesn't overwhelm the tastiness of the meatballs which were plump and quite delicious. Have a lot of napkins as it gets messy. Overall it was a good experience. You really have to know what you want and what to get before blindly walking in here. It does appear to be a chain with several locations in the surrounding area.

We all loved the bruschetta with crispy Parmesan toast. We agreed that the bread is usually hard and crumbly at other places but here it was surprisingly a little fluffy past the crunchy layer. I was recommended to try the pork schnitzel by my friend and it did not disappoint. I got my sandwich with a side salad. We also ordered the deviled eggs to share. My friend has never had the deviled eggs before and pleasantly surprised and delighted that the eggs were absolutely delicious. They're very smooth, eggs were cooked perfectly and the touch of bacon was just right. It does come with a small helping of mixed greens topped with pickled onions. The pork schnitzel was crispy & crunchy due to the breaded pork loin, came with pickled onions, slaw and the chipotle aioli sauce. The sauce does have a bit of a kick to it but it wasn't too spicy, well, at least for me. My salad was very good too. It was colorful and had an interestingly tangy dressing on it. It paired well with the sandwich. One was spicy and the salad was tangy but refreshing. My friend also ordered the pork schnitzel with beef tallow fries. I tried some of her fries and they were thin but still crispy. Overall the food at West Oak Nosh was so good and delicious! We sat inside, where the space features exposed brick, artwork throughout, and very comfortable seating... my partner specifically pointed that out. The layout includes a mix of seating areas, which gives it a more relaxed, layered feel. The bar area, known as the Ghost Lounge, adds a darker, more lounge-like element to the overall atmosphere. Service was excellent. Our server, Lacy, was friendly, attentive, and witty - easily one of the best servers we've had in a while. For drinks, I had a local Oak Farm red wine that was excellent. Others in our group had mimosas, which were well received... especially the grapefruit mimosa, which my partner really enjoyed. For food, there were several highlights. My partner had the chicken and waffles and loved it; I tried some and would agree it was very good. Another person in our group ordered the steak breakfast tacos, which came as a set of three. They only ate two, and I had the third and it was delicious and something I would recommend. Another in our group had the eggs Benedict and thought it was excellent. I had the biscuits and gravy with fried eggs. It was okay, but not something I would go out of my way to order again. In terms of value, prices felt consistent with the quality of the food, service, and overall setting. It's not a budget brunch spot, but it feels appropriate for the experience. Overall, it was a really enjoyable Easter brunch with great service, a comfortable and well-designed interior, and several strong menu items. I'd rate it a 4 out of 5, though if half-points were an option, this would land closer to a 4.5. We'd definitely come back.
