Had an amazing time with the team at Flying Pig! First off, the value is ridiculous...guided raft, lunch, great equipment, awesome staff...I could go on. Secondly, and most importantly, we were blessed with PRESTON as our guide. He's living the life on the Yellowstone in summer and winters on the slopes of Aspen. He's putting a pause on that Auburn degree to live life to its fullest. We were so lucky to have just our family in the boat and we had a great time spotting bald eagles, osprey, Jesus ducks, and of course, the rare two gold eagles!!! Lastly, don't waste your time on the 8 mile. It's only a couple more bucks and a couple more hours--you gotta do the full day. Can't wait to come back and do it again. read more

We recently completed a tour with this group. We were are part of the saddle and paddle. Horseback riding in the morning with lunch in between and rafting 8 miles in the afternoon. Check in and directions were easy and every single person was delightful. Once we made our way up to the horseback riding ranch we were ready to ride. It was fun. However the guides for at the ranch were not very friendly. They did not really give great instructions prior to riding. There were several inexperienced riders who could have benefited from a few extra minutes of support and directions. Another negative was the group of riders was way too large. They should break up the large groups into smaller ones. Our group had over 30ppl. Got separated from my spouse during horse selection. It was chaos. They should consider breaking the groups up into experience and who cam together. Felt bad my spouse was chosen last and I had been on my horse for a good 10 minutes. Overall I would not suggest this portion of the tour unless they committed to making groups smaller and more interactive with guides. They didnt really talk to us or give and local facts or interesting things about the area. Disappointing. The older lady at the ranch also got sparky when I asked if I could take my water with me. Her response "why do you need water it's only a hour ride, jeez just grab a saddle bag I guess. Just rude. Then when getting off the horse she was smacking it in the face while I was still on it. Just not the greatest experience. read more

We booked the Saddle and Paddle. The paddle was really fun, it was end of season low water and very few rapids, our guide Ella made sure we had a great time regardless! Flying Pig was easy to book and coordinate with. The saddle portion was beautiful, however the group was too large, we didn't get to ride near members of our own group, there were three guides who didn't introduce themselves or even speak the entire ride. We weren't told what we were looking at, where we were riding etc. they truly seemed bored and disinterested. I have done many trail rides and part of the beauty is understanding the land around you. Next time I would only book the rafting. read more

This was our first time whitewater rafting and we seriously had the best time! Our guide was Cadence and she was so cool! We chose the 2-hour, 8-mile trip, but they have a lot of other options available as well. We had a really great group with us too! We enjoyed the class 1-3 rapids and also enjoyed swimming/floating in the calmer sections of the Yellowstone River. When you're done, they meet you at the river and bus everyone back to the office, rafts and all! We brought our cell phones in waterproof pouches, but they also have a photographer that takes photos and the package is really reasonably priced. They delivered them electronically and I got them within a half hour of our trip! This was such an amazing experience and I'm so glad we were able to do it! Did the saddle and paddle 7/25. Everything was very organized and the staff was professional and well-trained for both excursions. Thanks to the crew at Hell's A-Roarin for my spunky horse Pet and to Sofie at Flying Pig for a fun ride and sharing her stories. Wind was blowing so hard at one point we were going backward, and we had a couple squalls come through, so we got our moneys worth because we were late getting to the exit point. He was patient, knowledgeable, and watchful to ensure safety without scaring us. My friends and I were visiting Yellowstone National Park and we wanted to experience river rafting around the area since it was our first time. We're not experienced in river rafting, so I think this experience was definitely worth it for us. If you're looking for extreme river rafting experience, this is not the place. This is mainly for families. We had a guide with us throughout the entire time and she was so friendly! She told was whenever we needed to paddle, which direction, and etc. It was a great learning experience for first timers! Unfortunately because of drought, the water level was pretty low so for a majority of the time, we were relaxed. Since it was our last day, I thought the low tide water level was a better experience for us since we're quite tired already. The guide did make the experience a lot better! We had awesome conversations and really learned more about Yellowstone and rafting in general. We also had the opportunity to jump in the water and swim for a bit, but none of us opted in. We just went for the relaxed scenery and vibe, which is what we unexpectedly needed. Overall, I do recommend this experience for groups with little kids or for people who are first timers! read more

***Rafting with Littles*** Awesome experience! Did it on August 5th. At the end of our 7 night adventure in Yellowstone Park, the kids said rafting was the best part of the trip. We traveled in a party of 6 which included two kids ages 4 and 6. This was their first rafting trip and it could not have been better. We did the 2hr/8mile trip and it was perfect! Enough white water and excitement, but not no one got launched out. The guide was so helpful! Kept everyone safe and moved us around to ensure we stayed safe. It did rain for 20mins or so during our 1pm trip, but it made it that much more exciting. At the end even the kids jumped into the river (by choice). It was COLD. Our 4 year old started to cry as soon as she hit the water; she got pulled out right away. The kids dressed in swim trunks/bathing suits with hats, and we did borrow the companies' water shoes. Life jackets provided. Awesome. Add to your Yellowstone itinerary! read more
