The dude and I stumbled upon Paradise Dogs while walking on the Pier in Santa Cruz on 6/19/21. This place is like a mobile hot dog and sausage cart for hungry tourists on the go. The dude ended up getting the sausage dog with the works. The food cart actually smelled delicious but I didn't get anything as I wanted to save my appetite. The dude said it was very good as he would get it again. The owner was very friendly and helpful and appears they have a pretty cool business going on! They have cold beverages as well. I believe the sausage dog was $5 which wasn't bad at all! Give them a try! Especially if you need a snack on your beach day! read more

I am not a big hot dog person, and I LOVED Paradise Dogs! It is located right on the wharf and is run by a husband and wife who were very friendly. The guy looked like Santa Clause on vacation....he even plays the ukulele outside of his cart! The menu is simple and classic: you get your hot dog (regular or large), chips, and/or a drink. They also have plenty of condiments to put on your dog. The meat is pure beef and you can tell the quality of it from the first bite. My favorite part was the sesame seed bun, that was like biting into a marshmallow. I sat right on the wharf, overlooking the ocean and boardwalk while enjoying my paradise dog. We love this stand! Not only are the hot dogs delicious and the buns steamed (YUM), but the pricing is reasonable and you can get big dogs, hot links, chips, sodas, everything you need. Regular hot dogs are $4, big dogs and hot links are $5, and chips/sodas/waters are $1. Perfect for if you want to grab something quick and walk the Boardwalk or along the pier. I came by this hot dog stand on Saturday and got a regular hot dog for only $4... Very good, especially with the steamed bun... Add a coke or water for just a buck. Perfect! I was back to the Santa Cruz boardwalk today and went by the wharf and decided to get another hot dog for lunch. This time I tried the hot link, it was absolutely delicious. Love this place!!! The people are super-friendly and the location is phenomenal, right at the entrance to the wharf. Great spot to fuel up while playing on the beach. My 3 young boys loved the spot and the folks who run it. My 8 year old wanted to add his own 2 cents: (son) "great cookies,great classic chips, and an interesting sign!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Top quality hot dogs and sausages at very reasonable prices. Most drinks are just $1, remember to stay hydrated while walking around the beach. The new owners (Bart and Kelly) are very nice and responsible, taking over after Vince and Margie retired.
