Update from the owners response: There was no discount or anything. We just came around closing time and he mentioned last call. We ordered 6 hotdogs and it was around $35-36. The hot dog & buns were cold and low quality. That's about it. Previous review: Not the best hot dog I've had, but the service was great and they were kind enough to accommodate us right before closing. The beef hot dog was a good size for a snack and pretty affordable for the area. I liked the variety of topping and sauce options, but the hot dog itself was a bit cold, which was a bit of a letdown. read more

My favorite food place in Capitola!!!!! The BEST hotdogs I've ever eaten. This is only the second time I've eaten here (lol) but wow I think about this place all the time. I think the beach atmosphere just hits different too. I was volunteering on a beach trip with my church's youth group and I told a few people about this spot and they enjoyed it too. The guy taking our orders and making our food was so nice and even opened the stand a few minutes beforehand because we were already waiting. I can't wait to go back!! read more

This place is tucked away in the corner off the busy Esplanade. Almost all of their fresh ingredients and produce are LOCAL as well as the gourmet sausages are sourced from Corralitos Market and bread from Aldos Bakery. We tried the Left Coast Connection, Chicago Dog, and Heater. You can right away taste the freshness. Each dog is unique and full of flavor! This is a must try when in capitola. These guys have their "hours" posted on yelp but they are never open. The quality of the food is for sure frozen hot dogs/sausages and the buns taste like 3 day old Costco. Maybe it would be worth it if the customer service was outstanding but they seem like they don't care about their customers AT ALL. This is my favorite place to eat in Capitola. The sausages are absolutely fabulous. I had a brat and loved it. The person who staffs the venue is supercool and friendly. This is an excellent sausage stand. They have the main sausages such as the Louisiana Hot Link, Polish, Turkey, Regular, Italian, or even their Wild Game! There are plenty of toppings to choose from but I wish they served a bit more sides like fries, potato salad, or even dipping sauces. I really wanted to try their Elk sausage but their wild game selection ran out. I ended up with their Polish with a nice smear of mustard. The bun was phenomenal! It was like wrinkled and squeezed together then opened up for the sausage to be inserted. I've never had this type of bun before but it was great! I'd love to come back again! Updating my review after a rude and honestly kind of nonsensical response from the business owner -- it seems like maybe if you want people to have a good experience you could tell them up front when you're busting your buns and having a really busy time and then don't be passive aggressive to them when they point out that their experience was not awesome. You can work your hardest and still miss providing a great experience for your customers, it happens to all of us. I don't mean to hate on this place but we got 3 hotdogs from here and all 3 of us didn't like them. We stayed in Capitola for 3 nights and it was voted the worst dining experience by everyone in our party (and we love a good hotdog). They guy was nice enough. He was on his phone the whole time while taking my order & preparing my food, but it was speaker so at least he wasn't touching his phone while preparing our food, so I'll take that as a win ‍. Wasted $12 bucks on food that went IMMEDIATELY into the trash. Under cooked smelly rotten wieners - Smelly homeless beach trash tourist trap. Thinking about making a complaint to the city about this operation, I honestly think it's unsafe since the quality is so bad and they hot dogs are served cold and undercooked. Just look at the pictures of the hot dogs, they're nasty. If you're dumb enough to waste your money here, do it at your own peril. RED FLAG alert! Gross and nasty .15 cent food for less bought hot dogs. Rotten smelly undercooked dogs. Tourist trap - not real sausages. I took one bite and it was cold and smelled peculiar. Buyer beware, You're going to get extreme diarrhea from this place. Avoid this place at all costs. First of all the round homeless bearded bro guy who took my order over charged me, and I was dumb enough to leave a tip. Ordered the polish hot dog and he charged me like 10-11 bucks when it was listed at $6.50 The polish dog smelled peculiar and I could tell it was undercooked and not even hot or warm. Came to Capitola by the Sea for a quick day trip just to get out of the Central Valley heat. Found thislittle gem while looking for some vegetarian/vegan friendly food. The owners are really nice and down to earth. They use locally sourced ingredients. The vegan dog is Fields Roast. They have free toppings (jalapeños, yellow peppers, onions, relish, ketchup, mustard, mayo), and other toppings you can pay a little extra for. If you eat meat they have different type of dogs like venison and boar I believe. If you want something good, fast, and inexpensive in this area this is a good choice. I didn't notice it until after I had already paid because the only explanation was printed at the bottom of the receipt. If you're going to charge customers an extra fee for using a card, that should be made very clear before they order so they have the option to pay cash. My friends and I also ordered one side each and tried garlic fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings and all were delicious. Garlic fries were seasoned well and had lots of garlic, sweet potato was slightly thick cut and soft and yummerz and the onion rings wasn't just batter, it had thick slices of onion! Their ranch was also creamy and aromatic! Parking could be difficult on a busy day! 9/10 would recommend!

I approached the same employee again and politely asked if he could check on my order. After another 10 minutes, there was still no update. After I explained that I had placed my order at 1:25 PM and had driven from Monterey, she questioned whether I had already received the food. The interaction quickly became uncomfortable, and I felt as though I was being accused of trying to claim food I had already picked up. I explained that I had not received my order and even suggested they review the camera footage if there was any confusion. As a paying customer, being treated with suspicion instead of receiving assistance was upsetting and felt discriminatory. After a lengthy delay, I finally received part of my order. However, the problems didn't end there. The fries were not filled properly, and I was missing two Hot 'N Spicy McChicken sandwiches that I had paid for. Unfortunately, I was unable to return because I had family commitments and a busy schedule that day. The entire experience was frustrating--from the long wait, to the lack of communication, to being treated as if I were doing something dishonest, and ultimately receiving an incomplete order. I hope management reviews both their customer service practices and order fulfillment process so other customers don't have a similar experience.

We've always enjoyed East End, which makes this review difficult to write, but customer service is a big part of the experience.
