As drawn as I am to the convenience of Prime next day delivery, the benefit of the touchy-feely factor for home improvement supplies is likely to keep the brick and mortar model alive and well for Home Depot. It's really one of the few retail businesses that's insulated from the web extinction because literally every time I walk in I feel *empowered* to build and fix stuff. So yeah, there'll always be a place for Home Depot. This location of three within a 15 minute's drive or so from me. I tend towards the Keller store because it's easier to enter and exit, always has the items I need, and is slightly cleaner.

We gave Chance at Lucky 7 appliance repair a call when he was recommended by another repairman…read moreafter we had been hearing a loud buzzing from our dryer vent. My husband had determined the sound was coming from the location of our dryer booster and we had been having difficulty getting it resolved. Chance determined correctly that it needed to be replaced and agreed to do so. Once the repair was made, he told us to contact an HVAC service if we still were hearing the sound. We did so and were alerted that the replacement booster was not up to code. We contacted our builder, researched the codes, and got a second opinion and finally had a different company correct the repair. We then contacted Chance for a refund on the incorrect part but not the labor. He said he did not know it was not up to code and refused the refund. He said we should have contacted him and he would have put one that was up to code in and only charge us for the part. This would not have been acceptable as we would have been required to pay for both the correct and incorrect part even if he didn't charge us for labor on the second installation. He offered "credit" rather than the refund. We agreed for him to look at one appliance but told him we were not able to give him enough work to match the cost of the part and would like a partial refund. After lots of back and forth and insistence that he had done nothing wrong we decided a full refund for the part is all we would accept. Through all this, we learned we had been significantly overcharged for the part in the first place and he was not qualified to install the part as it requires a special license. He claimed because he didn't have this license, he wasn't required to know the codes so it wasn't his fault that he installed a booster that wasn't up to Texas state electrical codes. He took on a job he wasn't qualified to do without informing us, completed it incorrectly, then refused to take responsibility for his mistake and compensate us. I definitely would not recommend hiring him. If something goes wrong, you cannot expect he will make it right.

I called Chance & he returned my call a few hours later. He told me it would be 65.00 or 69.00…read more(sorry can't remember, Christmas brain) diagnostic fee but that would go towards the repair. He said he could come the next day which was Dec. 23rd! As soon as he arrives & he remembered what it was that the problem was he said he thought he knew what the issue was because he saw it a lot in this model of washing machines (whirlpool cabrio). He took some stuff apart & after about 10-15 minutes he said yes that's the problem. Let me see if my supplier has it in stock. He checked on his phone, then said yes they do but it's 309.00. It comes as a unit instead of just the 1 piece that broke. I said ok. He went to pick up the part & was back in less than an hour. Within the next hr, actually less he had the brand new part installed & guaranteed the part & his work for 90 days. I liked the way he lets you know through text he's on his way or running late. Sends you reminders of your appointment. He was very pleasant, easy to reach, & very knowledgeable in his field.
