I first came across Ka'u local buzz coffee and Paradise Meadows a couple of years ago and decided that this was the best coffee I've ever had. Same for the Mac Nuts. I immediately subscribed to their newsletter so I could keep up to speed on what they where offering. In a recent trip to Hawaii, we were finally able to visit in person and it was a fun experience. Enthusiastic staff, lots of laughter, delicious fruit slushies, Art Gallery with featured local artists, penny the pig, baby ducks, parrots that would squawk at you until you engaged in conversation. Premium Kau Coffee, Macnuts, chocolate, short bread, slushies, pizza (on the day we were there) made by two Italian guys. Yes please! After we gorged on free samples and margarita pizza, we went on a shopping spree at the well stocked gift shop (not sure if that's the correct term, maybe farmstand?). Since we spent a certain amount on goodies, a discount was given along with free shipping to Alaska (what?!?). It makes me so happy just knowing that places like this exist. My only regret about stopping is that because we were in go, go, go mode to get to a birthday party, we didn't spend nearly enough time here as I would've liked. Next time! read more

This is a must-see stop on the way to South Point. Admission is free, and you can wander the grounds filled with lush plants, birds, and an art gallery. Grab a bite from the food truck or enjoy the samples in the store. The macadamia nuts are absolutely addictive, and the thoughtfully crafted honey is just as incredible. We left a generous tip for our sample guru and went home with bags of macadamia nuts and a variety of honey. We walked around (free self guided tour) and saw lovely gardens with banana and citrus trees, a variety of free roaming ducks and chickens, and then visited the open air gift shop where we were treated to plenty of yummy macadamia nut and cookie samples. read more

Not just one but 4 of them with in a beautiful art gallery filled with art by the Resident / Owner and Artist They have the most amazing macadamia nuts and cookies we have found on the Island. They literally have you try and sample everything they have COFFEE HONEY SHORTBREAD COOKIES & Macadamia nuts Salted and in some of the most amazing flavors as well as delicious chocolates..... The property is beyond peaceful and tranquil and is educational. There was a pizza vendor and he is from Italy..... we tried 2 of the pizzas and it's the best we have eaten in a very long time. Absolutely a must-visit, on the Big Island!! The people at the store were super friendly and very quick to hand out samples of coffee, Mac nuts, and their other treats. I loved their dark roast coffee, nice and strong but still smooth. And the macadamia nuts...honestly, I didn't think their flavor could be improved on; but wow, the flavored varieties!! They still taste like Mac nuts, but with yummy flavor accents like vanilla or garlic. Yum! We bought all our gifts for the folks back home at Paradise Meadows, b/c they ship free with $125+ purchase. Finally, as someone who volunteers at an exotic bird rescue/sanctuary back home, I appreciate that they gave several parrots a good, permanent home. Really enjoyed our visit! read more

On our way back from the furthest southern point in the United States (on the Big Island), we stopped at Paradise Meadows for some Macadamia nuts. We found the staff were more than willing to offer samples. We walked out with 4 different varieties of Macadamia nuts. All delicious. The owners farm most of their properties with coffee & Macadamia nuts.. We sampled their coffee, and it was SO good, we took some back for tomorrow morning's breakfast. read more

LOVE!!! This was our 2nd visit here. Enjoyed tasting the different coffees and the staff giving an impromptu talk about the different types of beans & how growing conditions effect flavor. Got some chocolates & coffee, then enjoyed the farm animals. We continued on our way, also stopping at another coffee farm for samples. Realizing that "Buzz" had superior coffee (and at a better price), we returned for a few more bags. It was paradise here. We just drove by and happened to see a sign so we stopped by. And I glad we did because we got to sample so many chocolates and nuts. Ended up with a sugar smrush because of it. We also got to sample the smoothie before we bought it. Everyone was so friendly! Onsite was a pizza spot and tables to sit at. There were animals to view too as you wait for the pizza to be cooked. Go here for a fabulous "behind the scenes" tour with the ever-knowledgeable Ashley who designed most of the sites (edible garden, herb garden, etc). The store staff were also so kind and generous, Tiffany gave us a full, free tasting tour (nuts, shortbread, coffee, honey) while we shopped, and Steve shared his wisdom throughout. STEPH JUDGEMENT: Nice stop for a bathroom break, samples, and more! We were on our way to Ka Lae (South Point) and were starting to feel the need for a break when we happened to see their sign along the road. It turned out to be a very nice stop--definitely more than just a restroom break. We sampled their coffee and various macadamia nut/chocolate combos (bought some nuts), walked the pleasant grounds and viewed their flora and fauna, and of course, made use of their facilities, taking care not to let their house cats out (did not actually see any cats, darn). They also had a lot of art in the main house where the bathrooms were. A lot more to see than we were expecting, with a pleasant, courteous staff--worth the stop. read more

What an awesome experience! Staff are very helpful and friendly. The have tastings for everything: coffee, chocolate, honey, Mac nuts. No pressure. I think it's great because it lets you taste how good the products are. I love it because I know I will like it before I buy it. It is dangerous because we ended up spending around $175 there... so fair warnings. But I'm happy because I know I will enjoy the goods. I'm so delighted with my experience at Pleasant Meadows. The woman assisting us with our coffee, honey & macadamia nut tasting was a joy! We ended up ordering a shipment of all 3! The scenery is beautiful, lined with coffee, fruit and nut trees. Animals are able to free range outside of their pens, and don't mind the people walking around. This place is amazing. On your way to the most southern point for the United States? Stop here to grab some coffee and snacks. The staff was very friendly and the grounds were fairly large. They have a mac nut tasting and by the time you've tasted them all, you'll feel like you've eaten a whole bag! They also have coffee tasting which pairs well the the mac nuts. The "Yelp loves us sign" is clearly marked outside on both sides of the road so you can't miss it. It's like a private little oasis here, clearly marked parking lot with about a dozen spots. Get the feeling of a self sustainable farm with various things going on. Free coffee tastings (light fancy, pea berry, and dark roast) on the day I went. Little shop is organized and there's a sales lady who will explain the nut products and hand out samples of various flavors to try if you're interested. Didn't purchase anything but a good leg stretcher to check out the environment which included parrots who know how to say aloha at random moments! Truthfully, even though I've given 5 stars, I wouldn't plan anything around this place. However, it's worth the stop if you're driving from Kona to the Green Sands Beach! While we were driving, my husband said he would love if we could stop for coffee. I missed a couple of farm stand looking places and then we both got very excited when we saw the signs for Paradise Meadows! I screeched out little Mini Cooper rental right off the road! It was a lovely place to stop. They have bathrooms, a little art gallery, animals/birds, an avocado orchard, an "herb stroll," and a precious store with the most amazing Macadamia nuts, coffee, and honey! The staff was extremely knowledgeable and gave us samples of nuts, chocolate, and coffee (she gave us so many samples I was literally stuffed). We bought several bags of those and the coconut honey! Small bags were $6 and if you bought so many, you got one free. This would be a great place to grab gifts for people and tell them it's from a place near the southernmost tip of the United States! read more

If I could give this spot a 10/10 I would. They were so friendly upon arrival and we immediately got a tasting of the chocolates and cookies they have to offer as well as the backstop behind it. Everyone was so friendly and willing to help you. We stumbled upon this on our way back from the green sand beach. They have a pig named Penny who is such a cutie pie, parrots, fowl, and a cat. It feels like someone's backyard and I would definitely recommend coming here for their delectable treats. It is outdoors and very calming. This stop caught our eye with their free sample signs on our road to Green Sand Beach. It was definitely worth the detour! Paradise Meadows is a small-ish farm. Upon arriving, they gave us a self-guided tour map that was super cool. You get to see their birds, cool things they're growing in their garden, banana trees, coffee trees, an art gallery, and more. They also include helpful descriptions about each stop on the self-guided tour. It didn't take over 10 minutes to get through the tour. After the self-guided tour, you enter their store where they give you a briefing on their macadamia nuts and other products. They give you samples of basically everything they sell. What was unique was their dehydrated macadamia nuts, which were crunchier than Mauna Loa's. Everything was delicious. Very nice people working there too! read more

If you plan on driving all the way down to South Point or Green sand beach on Hawaii Island, you might as well make the stop to Paradise Meadows farm for local coffee, honey and chocolate! They have their own farm where they grow all of their own produce and also make and package their products. Everyone that works there is super friendly and are happy to let you sample all of their products. You are allowed to roam the grounds and do a self-guided tour of their little farm. They even have a few parrots on the property that you can say hello to! Their products are quite popular and are sold in the local grocery store Foodland on all of the islands, but it is so much more fun to buy directly from the farm and from the people who put their heart and soul into their business :) read more

This farm and little store is really great!!! While visiting the big island with friends, we stopped by and I was surprised about how many choices of different fruits and veggies they have. Everything were so fresh and staff was really friendly as well. My friend and I got quite a few fruits to try and they were so good. Please you got to try the bananas! They are the same kind we have in Brasil and I cannot find it anywhere on the USA. I suggest you bringing your own bag/box to carry the things you buy because they don't have any. I was lucky enough they gave me an old box but it is not guaranteed. Next time I come to visit the big Island I will definitely stop by here again to get some delicious tropical fruits. read more
