Drove pass and decide to take a quick stop. They have a food truck and the cafe sells a lot of their coffee and for non coffee drinkers (they have hot chocolate and chai latte). Coffee have more of a nutty smell and taste and was good. They also sell a lot of honey, moisturizer lotion body butter and of course their coffee. As a city tourist we need to break norms and try new things or you miss diamonds in the ruff like this place. We had coffee which they offered samples of first. I don't know what we are drinking on the mainland but it is certainly not this opulant brew they serve here. This place is a gem! The owner and her family are very sweet and the coffee is amazing! I came with my family and we got iced mochas and they were very good. The ingredients are high quality. We also got the brownies with macadamia nuts and they were very fresh and delicious! Lastly, we went to the food truck and got pupusas and an elote. Everything was made to order and very fresh. Came here with a tour group and really loved their cold brew coffee! They also have lattes and drip coffee but the beans they use are amazing. I even picked up some bags of coffee beans to take home. The never ending story!!! It started out one sunny Saturday in the sleepy little town of Hilo, island of Hawaii Time to kill and was on the hunt for some gourmet coffee beans I stop in at the Hilo Farmers Market. Among many things I found a coffee vendor named Miranda Farms. I learn of their award winning roast Red Catuai. So I buy a bag and chased that with their dark roast pea berry... yup that's all I wanted ($27/bag of 8 oz). On that note my bill should be $54 +applicable taxes A swipe later my card gets charged $89.61. Now read this: I was charged for 3 bags of coffee of which 1 of the bags, the pea berry was NOT the pea berry but some sort of dark roast varietal. Topping that was $2 discount CHARGED to me rather than CREDITED to my purchase I go to Miranda's website and call the number posted only to get a voicemail notice WITHOUT a business greeting just your standard canned message. So I protected to use their website chat function and left a detailed message. Five days go by and I have to journey back to sleepy Hilo town with the incorrect order in hand. I attempt to leave one more message! Lo and behold I get a call back from one of the Owners who connected me to the staffer at the Farmer's Market who in short, adjusted my total bill and sent me a refund. Now how's that for customer service? Like I said at the onset; this is a never ending story because I have Miranda's on my list to visit next time I am over on the big island. On our way to visit the Black Sand beach and in need of a caffeine fix. Miranda's Farm appeared right on time. I ordered an iced coconut latte and couldn't resist the chocolate mac nut banana bread in the case. The banana bread was moist and really appreciated the coffee ice cubes, so the drink didn't taste watered down. Great little pick me up during our road trip. read more

I stopped by here the other day after my hike down the road at the Kahuku Unit. It has a cute little cozy feel to it. The staff were friendly and engaging. I stopped in just to take a look but after coming in I had to try something from the menu. I had a iced vanilla chai latte with a shot of esspresso. It was just what I needed. This was my favorite out of the few coffee farms we checked out. It was a little further out but as a result it was pretty much empty when we were there, so it ended up being a nice relaxing place to have a latte and refuel, plus try a few different coffee varieties at our own pace while taking in the scenery and sunshine at the farm. The coffee we ended up buying and taking home was super delicious and also surprisingly strong which was a nice bonus. This place was awesome! Definitely a highlight of my trip in Hawaii. They have earned a lot of awards. Don't remember who I talked to, but he did a great job of walking through all of their different types of coffee and providing samples for all of them. I live only a few miles from Miranda Farms I used to drink the yellow Couture coffee exclusively. But now they're at $50 a pound. It is really good coffee. But it is not worth $50 a pound to me. I can buy Kona coffee all day long for $25 a pound. When I buy five or more pounds I can get it down to $20 per pound. So if price is no object to you. Pick up the Miranda Farms yellow Couture I prefer the dark roast. read more

I was driving to Hilo one day in March and saw a grand opening sign for Miranda's Farms. Feeling curious, I drove in. Unfortunately, there was no parking available so I decided to continue on with my drive to Hilo. A week or two later, I was driving to Hilo again and was able to make a stop. Miranda's Farms is one of the many coffee farms on the Big Island. Though they are one of the younger farms, they have established a name for themselves over the last few years with their award-winning coffee. Their 100% Kau coffee are from the typica and yellow caturra plants and are sold in 8 or 16 oz bags in either the medium or dark roast. Peaberry coffee is available as well. Miranda's Farms is a small family-run business so therefore the retail shop and selection are small, but the coffee is really good. The coffee is not bitter, and the yellow caturra has a slight sweetness to it. I really like the yellow caturra and ended up buying both the 16 oz medium and dark roast bags to take home with me. Aside from the retail shop, this location has a small garden area that you can walk around in. If you need more coffee after your supply runs out, Miranda's Farms has an online shop too. Kau coffee may not be as well-known as Kona coffee, but Miranda's Farms proves that it is just as good or maybe even better. read more

This was one of the best finds yet. We saw a random sign on the side of the street saying world-famous coffee... We were skeptical until we walked in and had the best coffee ever and heard that they were award winners in top 25 world wide within their first year opening. I told the barista to surprise me with a drink... And I had an amazing lavender vanilla coffee... We also were able to look around the farm on our own it was wonderful. You come to check out the coffee but it's a place to experience so much more. Miranda farms was founded by an El Salvadorian family that brought some coffee plants to Kona and created their own plantation on 21 acres of lands. Inside the coffee store part of their story is told on the walls and some of the products. The attention to detail in little things makes all their products high quality such as putting frozen coffee cubes in the iced latte. There is a lot of care with all their coffee plants which they planted themselves. My favorite part of the experience was meeting one of the sisters Berta, who told me about the 2 lava tubes on the property. My wife and I walked the property and managed to find one of the lava tubes in the north west corner of the property. When we went down and saw Berta as we were leaving we told her we only found one of the lava tubes. She grabbed her four wheeler and drove up to show us the second tube. Both lava tubes were created over 2000 years ago and the second one is shallow and you can walk inside off it very easily. read more
