In addition to the bike and walking paths that pass through this park, it gets used for winter sports like snowshoeing and cross country skiing. There's tennis courts, too. No playgrounds that I can tell, but that makes it an ideal place to observe wildlife or have a quiet picnic. I've been in the area so many times without realizing this was here. Lots of benches, some with shade, some without. There's a pond for fishing. Just a lovely jewel in the suburbs near the university. Makes me wish I could have a do-over because my college experience would probably be a lot nicer in a place like this.

A nice wooden bridge, Ellicott creek, a ton of planted trees , the American flag, and several wooden benches fill up this park, which reaches from North Forest to the UB campus. The best part of this walk, though, was when it started raining and we were heading back....... amazingly, a mama and baby deer came really close to the trail, eating grass and looking up at us every once in a while. That made for a great photo opportunity! I'll be back to take a ride on my bike sometime.... P.S. be cautious of your GPS , the address lead me to the golf course, not the park. The parking lot is on North Forest Ave just a bit past Maple .

Small park with a couple of ponds, large grassy area, few paved walking trails, bathroom facilities. Bandstand / amphitheater - waiting for summer concert series to make it come alive! New parking lot - glad they finally paved a black top one. A muddy mess on a rainy day when you had to park your car on the grass - no more! A few benches to sit and enjoy the evening breeze and catch up with a dear, long time, friend tonight. We walked our dogs along the paved pathways. Several folks enjoying the warm evening outdoors sitting on folding chairs or blankets. Kids playing catch. Playground area on one side. A decent, clean, neighborhood park.

The grandstand was expanded last year and at the same time the parking area was as well. The main occupants of the park seem to be ducks, geese, and what looks like a local school track team that can be seems frequently running around the park. A couple of years ago an art sculpture was placed in the park. I personally think it's placed too far back to be thoroughly enjoyed. To me it looks like kids 'pick up sticks', for those that remember them. It's suppose to be thought provoking and that's my thought. Come in the summer and check out the concerts!

Interesting facts learned on fireflies: they like leafy dark areas, eat slugs, and snails and really lite up the park. This is such a beautiful park to enjoy a nice walk, jog, a bike ride or to go fishing (no spots to play sports of any kind here). There are a couple small grassy areas you can sit with a blanket and have a small picnic, eat lunch or bring your own lawn chair and enjoy a book. Plenty of benches to sit down, relax and enjoy the view of the water. In addition, the trees provide lots of shaded areas to appreciate as you walk through the paved trail on a hot summer day. Lastly, there are a lot of droppings from the geese (the children were stressing about avoiding it). I didn't see a playground during my walk but there is a very nice playground available for the children in front of the library that is located adjacent to the park entrance - you'll see it. I used my GPS to get here and parked at the courthouse parking lot, there was a path to where the trail starts - in my photos. Bring bug spray and sunblock in the summer and enjoy a stroll after a good meal. Rated this park four stars because I would probably only come back to take a walk if I'm already in the area but there's nothing here you absolutely have to see if you were visiting Buffalo. However, the park is beautiful and serene. If there was more to do or picnic tables for families to sit and eat, I would give it five stars.

No need for maps or worries of getting lost, it's perfect for a nice walk. My son loves looking for all the wildlife especially if there are any ducks or fish. Luckily for him, there are plenty of ducks around here. Another nice thing about this park is that it is very scenic for photography. There were a few different groups there doing what looked like senior pictures or photos before an event. I am amazed at how restful and beautifully maintained it is. The flowers were welcoming, the small waterfall enchanting, the trails curious and winding, and the wildlife amusing. I felt more relaxed and grounded after my visit than I have in a long time. The only negative was that someone was smoking weed on a park bench and the odor instantly turned me off. I'm sure smoking is not allowed, but I was chagrined that in this little section of The Garden of Eden someone would assume to make the place smell like a stoner's living room.

On my recent visit the park was full of smaller children enjoying the playground area and the large open grassy areas. There used to be a wading pool there but it was removed last year (2019), not sure why. There are always kids fishing at various spots around the island but mostly near the bridge. Scattered through the park are nice benches, including swinging benches, and picnic tables. Funny, looks like it was set up for social distancing even before it became necessary. Small but worth checking out. Not a park for hiking but nice to just relax.

The other is a large open structure with a lot of seating area which under normal circumstance would be perfect for private gatherings, etc. Their was a nice playground area that was recently demolished to make room for new modern playground equipment. Next time you are in the Village of Williamsville, stop, find a park bench and relax for awhile.
