    Swimming pool area is amazing
    Kim K.

I have nothing but great things to say about this place. I think one thing should be considered when starting here... this is not a campground. It is a mix of permanent park trailers and RV pads. We stayed in May 2017 and most of the snowbirds have flown the coupe so the place is pretty quite. Which I loved! Those that still remain on premise always smile and wave hello. Staff is friendly. Security was patrolling on a regular basis. The pool is huge and warm. There is a large hot tub (Although it was way too hot outside for me to enjoy). They have pool noodles and aqua weights to workout with. There is a great gym and a smaller hot tub. There's lawn bowling and tennis courts. A tranquil pond with koi and a small for bridge. Also there is a dog owner section and a pet free zone.. Which I'm kinda partial to. Early mornings and at dusk you can see bunnies going about. The full timers in the park have some beautiful setups in their yards and you can tell they take great pride in their desert theme yard paraphernalia. Overnight rates for RV'S are fair and come with many amenities! If it wasn't so hot, I could see myself retiring in a place like this!

If you are 55 and over and-traveling in an RV , this is a great stop. Every amenity in a modern clean well tended good sized park. If you're looking for a Park Model... same deal makes extended stay or permanent residency just as attractive. Great people, terrific location, everything you need in a neighborhood ! Prices vary in park models for sale by owners or by the park but everyone keeps their places well groomed and respects their surroundings! Pets welcome in the pet side of the park as well!

This place is in rough condition, lots are mostly dirt and not raked clean, with ruts in many spots. The majority of snowbird residents are hard to get along with. Age appears to average 75 and joining any activity is tough because of the long time cliches. Lots of old lady gossip and people with nothing to do but cause trouble for rv owners! The park is made up of mostly aluminum clad park models that are in need of updating. If you consider staying here in an rv, ask for a spot near other rv'ers and not park models. By the way, careful driving in here, the majority of residents need to be re-tested for a driver's license! Don't even consider buying here, bad investment (many for sale)! The pool has chunks of concrete missing along the top edges. It screams bacteria. The sewer and water systems are in bad shape and constantly being repaired.

The RV Park is fairly close to the Texas Rangers/Kansas City Royals Surprise Staffing BB Park, like a 5 minute drive. I only used the Ladies Room but not the shower and the bathroom is kept clean and stocked with TP, paper towels and soap. The bathroom is one at a time use, has a shower, sink, toilet, chair, 2 mirrors and a 2 socket outlet with secure locking door. They give you a hard key for access. I never had to wait to get into the bathroom. I peaked in the shower and I guess it would do in a pinch with flip flops if you had to, however, it was clean - just older with a cloth shower curtain. I'm not a full time RV-er like he is and prefer to use the bathroom facilities outside of the RV. He likes the dry camping area for the price which I'm not sure how much it is. There's a fair amount of traffic at busy times on the main road that runs parallel to the RV Park and a train that goes by in the evening and maybe a couple times per day but neither bothered me. Otherwise it's very quiet RV Park. It's VERY dry and desert (dirt) like at the Park but there's gravel to keep the dust down. I added photos of the Ladies Room and the Park including the dry camping area which is basically a dirt alley along the wall with a single row of RVs. The weather was not too hot, only one day was really hot and it's chilly today, otherwise the weather has been very nice. (Full Disclosure: I considered 81°+ hot, lol. I love the cold weather & he loves the hot weather). I was here for 6 days, 2/26/25 to 3/4/25, so it's a good time to come before the heat arrives. We were lucky enough to see the Budweiser Clydesdales horses, wagon and Dalmatian dog yesterday at the BB Park yesterday. The RV Park sits in an older neighborhood but I felt safe. Surprise is a newer side of town with lots of restaurants and nice grocery stores like Fry's. I added a ton of photos. Hope this helps you if deciding to visit.

We have wintered in our RV the last 5 years in Palm Desert at Emerald Desert RV Resort. But thought we needed to check other options and so many people head to AZ. Welp - AZ RV "resorts" are not our cup of tea. But we did drive through others and talked to locals to see if there were other options. All are attached to park model 55 and over communities. We do believe that Pueblo El Mirage is the best of the places to park an RV. The facilities are well taken care of. Property well maintained. People are friendly. Lots of organized activities. Bright fun lights at night. Sites are large. Sounds perfect? For us the lack of real grass, an over abundance of rock is not our personal preference. Maybe if we started here and not in Palm Desert this might have been our "norm". The location is not convenient to anything. A rather desolate location definitely doesn't help. Another knock - the golf course right next door is a poorly maintained muni at best. We played it once - won't play it again. And last but definitely not least - Luke Air Force Base is 4 miles away - you will be singing God Bless America about 40x a day. And don't worry people won't hear you. And ... you do get used to it. All that being said - it's the best the immediate area has to offer

Facilities are kept clean and I have seen annual upgrades to the park that have been substantive and of benefit to all residents. The parks proximity to shopping in Surprise, Arrowhead and Glendale Entertainment districts with their Restaurants, Stadiums and recreation opportunities make it a ideal spot. Trips out of town ae made easier with its proximity to the 101, which connects to either I17 or I10 and Grand Avenue down the Street the it's time to head to Vegas for a weekend getaway , lol. All in all the management does it's best to address common issues in the park and some of their programs like the Tuesday night Food Trucks that visited the park all through the summer, monthly outings and breakfast are great. The park has a resident council that puts out a monthly newsletter and calendar so events are easy to participate in. The Park also offers a large Recreation Clubhouse with Library, Pool tables and big screen Tv's for Game Days. Secure Mailboxes and an on site office with free notary are a plus. The heated pool has been a wonderful benefit always clean and comfortable and music plays in the background 24/7. Friday night Bingo in the Clubhouse is open to the public and has become a fine event drawing a regular crowd. So in a complicated world I enjoy life here at Apollo village and feel confident recommending it to anyone looking for alternative housing in a ever more difficult world for seniors.

Climb the stone steps, scramble carefully over the boulders, and explore the waterfall area. During certain times of the year, you may even find water collected in the pool below. Be sure to look up! There are two additional natural pools tucked into the rocks above your head, with plants growing along the cliffs and birds making themselves right at home. Keep watch for the local hawk that loves to perch dramatically on top of a nearby saguaro cactus. The true treasures of this trail are the ancient petroglyphs created by the Hohokam people. Many can be seen inside the protected, marked areas, but sharp-eyed explorers may spot even more etched into the surrounding rocks. They are incredible reminders of the people who lived in this desert long before us. I take nearly every visitor we have on this hike, no matter the season. It is one of my favorite places to show off the beauty, history, and adventure of Arizona!
