It's almost 4 years since I last stepped in hoping for improvements since my last visit. Sadly it's even worse. The guy took our order ripped us off. He told me it was $16 and change and I charged it on my card. He didn't have me sign and went in the back to make our drinks. My cousin got the tiger brown sugar bubble tea and I ordered a smoothie. We left and my cousin's didn't get any bubbles and he finished his drink within 2 min because it was mostly ice and barely any drink. I had the power 6 which consists of 6 different fruits. It tasted like fruit punch... nothing like real fruits. At the end of the night I saw my credit card was actually charged $19.49. I didn't authorize or sign for this. I crave boba (tapioca balls) drinks often and they are very hard to come by here in Baton Rouge, but alas, because of Yelp I have found one!! Instead of ordering a boba drink this time, I ordered a shaved ice (or snow ball)...this was the best shaved ice I think I can say I have ever had and I have had many shaved ice's in my day! This is not like your ordinary "snowball" (like you would get from a snowball stand with the flavored syrup. The shaved ice had: coconut ice cream and from what I tasted coconut flakes, fresh mangoes, fresh pineapple, fresh pineapple, condensed milk and my favorite addition the boba balls! I even asked for extra boba balls and was not charged extra. The shaved ice came in a large bowl and was large enough for me to share with my husband my 4-year old daughter and it was more than enough for us as a little treat! Yay!! I've been to this one so many time but this afternoon was a disaster. Normally i pay $5 something for a taro milk tea with tapioca but today i paid $6 something for the same thing. Apparently there's $0.5 for "system fee". I don't want to argue since it's $0.5 and i just wanted my boba tea. And got this full cup of ice lol. And my taro milk tea barely taste "taro", only taste the "milk" part and plain. Thought only Lays do this to my chips but i guess not. $6 for a cup full of ice. Gonna be my last time here. I never stray away from my usual, a mango smoothie! It is absolute perfection every time! Delicious, plentiful and smooth! It is always very clean and tidy inside. And they sell a variety of snacks and different kinds of ice creams as well. It is the perfect place to go on a hot summer day. I love the precautions they are taking now during the pandemic as well. Iced coffee with black bubbles and amaretto flavor--the drink itself was good, but I regret getting the tapioca pearls. They were overcooked and WAY too soggy to enjoy. They actually were really unpleasant to eat. My mom wanted an iced green tea (without bubbles), so we ordered the green tea sugar-free (she is diabetic). I wanted something different for lunch, being on a diet is tough in this town. I went to check out the grocery store next door, and the noodle place is great. Walked into the Smoothie shop and while there wasn't a line out the door, I was greeted by a nice man who is the owner. Someone complained about paying $10 for two drinks? Try doing that at the other smoothie place that litters the town. His smoothies are half the price of those other guys. He made me a fruit bowl that wasn't on the menu which was great as it had fresh coconut in it which I wasn't expecting. Turns out he grew up in northern California, and was working in Silicon Valley when his family asked for his help here. He opened the shop in 2003 and met his wife here and now has a family. There's always something about a small shop that adds to the reason why you go there and not just for the food. You go for the people too. And for that I'll keep coming back here. He's got a nice little cafe with couches and tables to chill out and surf on your phone or laptop and enjoy your frozen treat. It looks like he also has ice cream and he's got more than 3 dozen teas on this board. For me the best thing is that he'll make his smoothies with no sugar added. Which if you're on a diet is a huge deal. And like others said, this is probably the only place in the city you can get bubble tea fresh made. You can get it in the can if you go to the Vietnamese Grocery store either next to his shop or further down Florida about a 1/2 mile. There's a nice Pho place next door. My family of 4 tried the frozen English toffee flavored iced coffee and 2 of the shaved ice with ice cream, fruit, and condensed milk. First off, I'm so glad I had help ordering because it was way complicated! Had to choose an ice cream (Blue Bell woohoo!), flavor of shaved ice, fruit or jelly type toppings, and options of tapioca balls, condensed milk, and whipped cream toppings. The display was beautiful, but sadly, the order wasn't done correctly, so my 5 year-old freaked out because she got the wrong flavor ice cream in hers. Perhaps she needs to be cultured more because ultimately she refused to eat either of the fancy shaved ice and order a scoop of ice cream instead. We witnessed a lot of people coming in to order smoothies (including some with avocado) which all looked delicious, so that's what we will plan for next time ;-) Their ingredients seemed very fresh too. I absolutely adore this place, especially since it's next to my fave Vietnamese phô restuarant. I love the fave they use New Orleans brand coffee. I think it's the only place in Baton Rouge you can get boba or bubble tea. I like mixing flavors like Peach Mango or Strawberry Honeydew. I usually get it with the tapioca pearls, but you can also get it with the lychee jelly. I also recommend the avocado when I want something creamy and rich. I usually grade my bubble tea on the taste of the fruits and the tapioca pearls. Fruits are fresh and good, but sometimes the tapioca pearls are hit and miss.
