The restaurant looks very busy tonight. Took forever to get served and the food was not very good. I wish I had gone to Taco Bell.

Ordered the fajitas $14.99. Asked for chicken and steak waitress said it would be an up charge of $4.99, I asked is it because you get extra? She said yes. When the fajitas came, there were 4 pieces of steak and a dry chicken breast sliced. Worst fajitas I've ever had! Wish I had taken a photo. Guacamole was good, that's about it. This place was great. My mom and I went there despite the other poor reviews on here and were pleasantly surprised by the great food and excellent service. The menus seemed to have been recently updated, so maybe there has been a change in management. While this may not be authentic Mexican food, it was still tasty. The best part is that they have many vegetarian options that can easily be made vegan by eliminating the dairy. That includes plant-based versions of both chicken and beef. We split the Veggie fajitas with veggie chicken, and it was all very fresh and yummy. Even though we split the entree, there were enough leftovers for two more meals. this is the whitest mexican restaurant ever. the food was unauthentic. the only people that worked there were white. it's like when my mom makes tacos on taco tuesday at home. Great food and most things aren't too spicy. I'm a spice wimp. I went there for my birthday and had the super burrito, which is always good. My husband had the shrimp fajitas. Those were delicious and I will be ordering those in the future. The strawberry daquiris are delicious. Deidre in Bismarck is an awesome waitress. Pros: Good happy hour and good drinks. Food items don't skimp on meat. Cons: Not close to authentic mexican. Don't bother to order online for takeout...they don't start your order until you arrive at the restaurant which defeats the purpose of ordering ahead. Slow service. read more

Summarizing up this restaurant in one sentence: decent Mexican food with friendly customer service. Seating here is pretty quick. They have a free taco bar for the bar side of the restaurant from 4pm-6pm. However, the quality of the tacos is subpar. They have lunch specials here starting at $7.99. Food here may not be the best, but I would say that the servings are pretty good considering the price. Waitress was super nice and checked up on us a lot. read more

This is my favorite restaurant when visiting family in ND. When I'm in Bismarck, I'll eat there at least 3-4 times over a couple of weeks. It's not traditional Mexican like i get in Cali, but still one of my favorite restaurants for good food. Everyone knows my first stop when we land and leave the airport is this place. For a two and a half Star Restaurant this place gave us five star service. Very happy with the free chip bar: chips, salsa, queso, and beans. Very happy with our meal which was a fajita. It was big enough to split between myself and my wifey. We also had a pitcher of beer. Let's face it: we were staying at the Ramada Inn so we're not looking for 5-star anything. I spoke too soon! Yesterdays experience won't keep me from coming back, but will definitely keep me from sitting at the bar rail during lunch hours. I decided to take a lunch break from my shopping for food for the Championship games to be played Sunday. I sat at the bar rail and was greeted by the bartender David. He made my drinks and then just went on his way to do sidework. I was not offered a menu. I gave him a few minutes to see if he asked if I wanted a menu or just put one beside me, nothing. So I asked for one myself. I ordered not too long after and helped myself to chips and salsa (they have a chips and salsa bar that customers serve themselves at). I sit down and catch up on Facebook and wait... and wait... and wait... and wait... for my food. I noticed David went into the back once to see about the food about 10 minutes after I ordered, but then didn't check for about another 10 minutes. The two ladies next to me had received their food and finished before I got mine. They were being served by a different bartender (medium height, dark brown hair, female bartender). There were about 7 two-tops in the bar, so there wasn't any reason for my food to take almost 20 minutes. As my food was 3 different side orders, I'm not sure what took so long in the kitchen either. David delivered my food and the side of SOFT corn tortillas were hard and stale. Having worked in restaurants for many, many years, this was a tell-tale sign my food had sat under the heat lamps for who knows how long and now the tortillas were not servable. To be honest, any server who cares about service and their customers should have never served them and had them remade immediately prior to serving them to a customer. I was never given silverware for my meal, so I ate with my fingers and the bean spoon that came in the bowl. At the end of my meal, I noticed something stringy in my beans ( I ordered without cheese), possibly shredded chicken or pork- this worried me as I am vegan. I asked if the beans had meat and I was told no. Hopefully I was just seeing things. Throughout my meal, all glasses were scooped directly into the ice bin, no ice scoops used. This is serving 101... bacteria is spread from hand to glass to ice, plain and simple. This was by both bartenders. Also, there is a huge chance a glass will chip off in the ice, not knowingly, and now a customer eats the ice. Please instill a policy of using an ice scoop! Yep... long review here, but I saw so many things done wrong yesterday that I had to share. I have visited three locations, Fargo, Jamestown and Bismarck. Jamestown service was awesome and a few of our visits to Bismarck have been good. Fargo, well there was much to be desired about their service. Maybe the company should do a company wide service retraining meeting!! read more

I've had my share of good and bad Mexican food but this place was horrible. The service was decent but I would have had a better meal if I would have just gone to the grocery store and picked up a TV dinner. I ordered a chile relleno, which one would expect a whole stuffed pepper at any other place. Well to my surprise, I received a few chopped up green pepper cubes mixed with cheese held together by an egg. So pretty much an omelet. If I ever return to Bismarck, I will never come back here. read more

I've been to a lot of Mexican places and I'm not one to complain but this place was by far they worst I've ever been to. The food was bad, and the service was even worse. The bar tender was very rude and not personable at all. Employees were arguing and complaining about the place right in front of us. I was literally taken aback as to how terrible the service was. I hope Gordon Ramsey visits the place one day. I would love to be there to watch. To the owners we were here on 01/26/2019. I am in town for work and stopped into give them a try. The food wasn't bad it's nothing like you would get down south but not bad. It took about 15 minutes to be seated even though there was plenty of tables open. It wasn't a bad experience until it came time to pay. I got the check from the server and gave her my card to run. I used to wait tables years ago and when a customer gave you their card you went and ran it and came right back to the table. You didn't go to other tables first or hand the card off to another employee. So I gave her my card and she's gone for about 10 minutes. She NEVER came back instead another employee brought my card back to me with my receipt to sign. This is totally unacceptable and unprofessional. This is how people's credit card information get stolen and used! I will definitely be watching my statements and making sure my info wasn't taken but it doesn't change the fact that this server was completely in the wrong. read more

I would have liked to give 4 1/2. We were 'in the neighborhood' and thought we would try it in spite of the ratings. Seated right away in the dining room, the bar had music uh...suitable for a younger generation. Unfortunately, kids eat free the day we were there, but the group next to us left and it was all good. My wife ordered a Chimi which she enjoyed, but wasn't a stand out. I ordered a two enchilada plate and asked for two sauces. Apparently it isn't Burger King, you can't have it your way. BUT...our very excellent waitress, McKayla, handled it and a couple other things. We feel she went above and beyond. The pork was tender and the beef was delicious. The beans, very good. The red sauce was good but the con queso was great. Plates were hot, service reasonably quick for the amount of people there. My only issues were the music, lack of customization, and while a good menu, no chili plate. Ms McKayla made up for it. read more

Love the bar...never been in the dining room. the bar has not only self-served chips and salsa, but also nacho cheese and beans...awesome. Large TVs everywhere. The happy-hour is great...whole meal combos for $5-$8. I was pleasantly surprised to find such delicious mexican food in the Midwest! Starting with the fresh, cripsy chips, served with salsa with just the right amount of hot, I don't like the sauce too hot. My favorite way to test a Mexican Restaurant's food is to have a Chili Rellanos. If that is good, the rest of the menu offerings follow suit. The main course was one of the best Chili Rellanos I've ever had. The rice was to my liking with a very good flavor, lettus was fresh and I finished up dinner with Sopapillas. I've only seen them in little pillows shapes, but what was put before me made my eyes pop out. It was a dinner plate size sopapilla, cut into pie size pieces, served with honey and cinnamon, enough for 2 or more people. I got there right after the big dinner rush and my service was excellent. I got a lot of food for $10.00. A great value with delicious food! read more

Okay so we are from Texas and the food here was a lot different from what we're used to. The Quaso was more like a cheese pasta sauce than a dip & my plate came out with a taco swimming in a pool of sauce so had to be eaten with a fork, the tamale was more breading than anything else, the chicken enchilada was okay, the chili reiono (however it's spelled) was okay but it's actually supposed to be a pepper that is stuffed and fried and this was no where near that. And the carnitas my husband got were okay. The fried ice cream was not fried it's more like ice cream rolled in something crispy & served with crunchy strips. Definitely now what we expected!! Horrible service. We waited over 45 minutes for our food and it wasn't correct. One meal was brought 10 minutes after everyone else's. we never got soda refills. The rice wasn't Spanish rice it was something else and the waiter was awful. Never gave drink refills read more

This review is regarding my Birthday visit on Friday, Feb. 22, 2019. The place was total chaos, no one greeted us or anything. We found a spot at the left side of the bar just in front of the bar tender and "manager." I assume she was the manager because she wasn't in a uniform. Everyone saw me and my parents sit down, but not one person said anything, nor did they even clean the dirty dishes or wipe the counter. We sat their speechless as the bar tender kept pushing more dirty dishes on the counter in front of us. My mother tried to talk to the waitress, but she just gave her a strange look and ignored her. About five minutes later, my mother attempted to stop a waitress and she rudely just said, "I'm busy. We are all very busy!" and walked off. After that level of disrespect and lack of complete professionalism, we left the restaurant. NEVER have I ever seen such a lack of courtesy and professionalism. Never mind just how nasty the tables, county and floors looked that night. I will be very surprised if we ever return. read more

Between my husbands plate, my plate and my daughters, I could have gone to the store and produced the same results in my own kitchen. The food tasted like it came from a can easily found at a grocery store. The service also suffers from promptness and manners. Mexican(?) food so bad we asked the waitress: "Do any Mexicans work here?" She giggled and said "No there aren't". We were just passing through and it's apparent that if they do any business at all it's because the locals aren't familiar with real Mexican food.
