Food very bland compared to Fargo counterparts . No spices funny off taste even margarita was strange taste

16 of us came to watch the NDSU Bison game in the bar. All ordered drinks and food then when the game came on, the manager put 5 out of 18 tvs on the bison game. 80-90% of the guests in here are wearing NDSU shirts, but the manager said she wouldn't put more tvs on because " not everyone here wants to watch the Bison game" As Tay Tay says, we will never ever ever coming here again. read more

This spot was my first stop for Mexican food in the Bismark area. We were seated fairly quickly and the staff is pretty nice. The menu had a good number of amazing looking choices, so it took a while for me to pick what I wanted. Something I noticed right off, was that there were no condiments. "We don't have hot sauce" was an actual answer. I mean, no hot sauce... At least packets (due to covid). I guess it didn't really matter either way, because the flavor was a bit of let down... We came here with a party of 10 and my sister in law arrived before us to put us on the list. We arrived and still no signs of us getting our table. The hostesses appeared a little unfriendly. Finally my sister in law saw that people that had arrived way after us were getting seated before us, so she said something and within two minutes we were seated. Our waitress was friendly and got all of our orders correct. The chips and salsa were so good and addicting. I ordered the flauta plater and it was DELICIOUS!!! Their flautas are different than what I am used to being a Texas girl and eating TexMex. They had more of a sweet Southwest taste to them but my goodness!! These were the most delicious flautas I have ever tried. The rice and Beans that come with them also divine. I had a Margarita as my drink and that was also pretty good. I would definitely recommend this place. They would have been 5 stars aside from the getting skipped repeatedly to be seated situation. read more

I have loved Paradiso since I was a child! The atmosphere is authentic and fun! They have the best super burrito!

Our sever was Candy and she was on the ball and efficient while serving seven to eight other tables of 5-7 people. I had the Macho combo and if you love cheese this is the meal for you. My toddler son had the cheese quesadillas that he absolutely loved! As for my husband had the taco fajitas that tasted wonderful as well. The bathrooms were clean and i love how it was all hands on deck mentally for the staff. This place is baby friendly for new moms and bigger kids. I don't know if you could bring a stroller in how well it would fit. The only reason I'm giving four stars is because of the host staff upfront, they all just stared at us when we walked in one young lady just looked at us and walked away. But the woman who did seat us was extremely nice! I would honestly come here again for any holiday or on a regular day. KIDS ALSO EAT FREE ON SUNDAYS!! read more

Wow! What an amazing dinner we had here. There was a bit of a wait for a table, but we were able to be seated at the bar immediately. There was a self-serve chips and salsa bar which we loved! The bartender was very friendly and let us know they had a deal to buy 2 drinks and a burrito, and get a 2nd burrito free. My husband had two to himself (seafood burrito and fajita burrito - a little surf and turf) . I had the seafood enchiladas - talk about drool-worthy. There was lobster in there with a cream sauce!! Lastly, I have a gluten allergy and they had lots of great options for me. They were more than happy to help me find the right dish, and it was full of flavor. read more

Wasn't too terrible But I would not be able to have a conscious if I didn't Saturday salsa is made from tomatoes paste doctored up with garlic cumin onion and a bit of cilantro That was sad and sadder followed by chips out of the bag because we got the end pieces of it. Our plates of bean and cheese burrito was ok but felt fake. Hubby had the big taco with tamale and enchilada Taco was worse than my homemade desperation for dinner night had no cheese no flavor just hamburger meat and lettuce The tamale was okay but. My son and I had lunch here this afternoon. He ordered the fish and fries from the kids menu and I ordered the Macho Combo. His fish was okay, a little on the salty side. The combo was supposed to come with a chicken enchilada and it came with a ground beef enchilada, which was not good at all. I would have asked our server to have the mistake fixed but she never came back to check on how the food was. She was very friendly so that was a plus. The tamale and chili rellano were good, although I have never had a chili rellano that wasn't actually the entire pepper. The salsa and chips were very good. The onky other complaint is the menu indicated that kids eat free on Sunday and we were charged for my child's meal, which I guess isn't a huge deal since we didn't know they offered this discount anyway. He also ordered the electric blue frost which he loved. We would go back but hope to receive the correct meal ordered next time. read more

Guacamole was delish, but everything else was quiet awful and overly salted (to the point where hardly anyone at the table ate their entree). Ordered a Jarrito for my drink and was brought an offbrand one to my disappointment. 1 star for the guacamole and a 2nd because they had a free salsa/queso bar in the bar area due to there being a game on the tv. read more

Somewhat rushed service by the hostess, friendly service by the server, decent ambiance, decent food, but they up charged a steak-instead-of-beef substitute for $6 on an $11 meal, and there were only 3-4 small pieces of steak. Is substituting 3 pieces of steak instead of beef worth a 65% up charge? Ridiculous pricing. The upcharge was mentioned but not explained since I expected it to be a few dollars, not over half the cost of my meal. read more

We stopped for the night in Bismarck after a long day of driving. Mexican sounded good so we went in around 8pm. We were seated immediately but waited ten minutes or more before my husband went to the hostess and told her we hadn't been seen our server yet. It was another five minutes before she finally came, with no apology. Chips were obviously from the bottom of the bag. Our meals were decent. I'd asked for no olives and that was ignored. The server noticed it and blamed it on the manager but didn't offer to replace or apologize. We likely wouldn't be back even if it had been stellar since this was a stop on a road trip. read more

This place gets 2 stars instead of 1 because the waiting service was really friendly and attentive. The coffee was also pretty good. The negatives: The host started things off on a kind of weird note by not smiling or welcoming at all. I think the only word he said was "2?" but otherwise it was vacant stares. The steak fajita had no flavor. The chimichanga was slightly better, but basically the food seemed like worse than Applebee's quality but for $15/plate. It was perfectly edible but not worth that price and the quality didn't sit well. The chips seemed to be out of a bag, not made in house. The worst part that pretty much ruined the meal was that there were tons of flies landing on our faces and food throughout the meal. Our waitress said this is a problem in this area in general this time of year (I'm just passing through, so maybe that's the case - I wouldn't know). But it also seemed like the walls were kind of grimy and the flies were attracted to the grimy wall of our booth. My sister who was with me has worked in restaurants that have experienced but successfully taken care of fly problems. She noted one measure that helped was deep cleaning the walls regularly. read more

well, this may be the most vegan-friendly place in Bismarck, but that is not saying a lot ;) right on the cover of the menu they proudly proclaim "try our vegan steak or chicken fajitas!"... so I did... and they came with cheese & sour cream #oops the actual fajitas were OK. I am from the Bay Area, so I fully admit to being a food snob and ESPECIALLY about Mexican food-- but you really CAN NOT put baby carrots in a fajita. just don't do it. I've also got to call out bad jarred salsa & bagged chips. but then you earn back a star for a tasty margarita this place was HOPPING- as a result, the service was a bit slow, but nothing terrible & my server was a delight. read more

Spent $16 for just a quesadilla with little to no chicken in it and it was cold. Three of us got watery margaritas served in water glasses. Three of the six orders came out wrong and we're not fixed after requesting it. 35 minutes for the food and the food came out at different times all cold. Went here for the first time, being during a busy time of day for my birthday. Service was a bit slow but our waiter did mention that he was still new and getting the hang of things. Very respectful and did check up on us. Food was delicious! Did't see much wrong with any of it except that the food wasn't as hot as it could be. Over all though my experience was okay. They need to change the slogan to..... Chips are free Dinner, Rice and Beans are extra. I recently went to Paradiso for lunch, upset at the fact the meal didn't come with a side of mexican rice and beans. Perhaps this ex-Texan is spoiled but rice and beans IS MEXICAN FOOD. Don't charge me $12 for two small enchiladas and one tamale and make me pay for rice and beans (um, I am very aware of what the food cost of that plate is) Ahhhh, I don't think so. So sad, because Paradiso's WAS the only decent Mexican Restaurant in the Bismarck/Mandan area. Not any more, I don't appreciate being nickeled and dimed for mediocre. I have routinely had bad service and they screw up my order 9 out of 10 times which is extremely frustrating. We normally go straight to the bar because the service is a million times faster that way. Although, I have had good service in the bar a couple times - the rest of the times have been awful. The servers have been rude to us, and seem like they have better places to be than at our table. My husband loves the food, but as earlier mentioned - they always screw up mine. Because I change ingredients often, taking stuff off as needed for my diet ... I always end up having to send it back and then be hungry while they make me up a new plate. At least they take it off the bill. I will say the chips & salsa are quite good, and I love the margaritas and teas. The prices are a tad high for the service they provide but eh, maybe it's just me. read more

Aw man, this place was terrible. I love Mexican food (who doesn't?) but the taco salad we had didn't taste anything like taco, or salad. After that, I was afraid to order anything else. There was a nacho(?) bar--you can't go too wrong with chips and salsa, but there was a pot of melted cheese that made Velveeta look like fine French fare. You know what Bismarck is lacking? A really excellent Mexican restaurant. Paradiso just doesn't cut it for me. While I admit that the salsa is among the best (very mild) I've tasted, their chips suck. I'd compare the chips to the baked tortilla chips they have at the grocery store. Rather reminiscent of a stale cracker. Bummer. The entrees I've had here aren't anything to write home about. I had the chimichanga (beef) and it wasn't awesome, but it didn't suck either. I suppose if you have a hankerin' for Mexican, you can go here and get your craving sated, but it's not my first choice. Sorry, Paradiso! read more

Lots of vegetarian dishes with vegetarian imitation (soy) meat. Very rarely do I ever go out to eat and find a restaurant that offer a meat substitute that is vegetarian. There is a large portion of one page on the menu that offers many different vegetarian options. The food was very good and the service was friendly. The dinner food serving size was substantial. The veggie fajita included corn, black beans, tomatoes, zucchini, yellow squash, onions, mushrooms and peppers. It also had a small bowl of cheese, avocado dip, chipotle and sour cream. There is a large sports bar with lots of TVs and a separate dinning area that was quiet and comfortable. We were also informed by our waiter what had we waited until 9:00pm to eat we would have received a 25% discount on our bill. I will eat here again. read more

Delicious and perfectly prepared, helpful and friendly staff, plenty of parking, nice decor, clean. Food came out hot. Ordered fried ice cream and it was delicious! It looks like they can accommodate large parties. You just may want to call ahead and let them know the size of your party so they can get it set up before you arrive. read more

Nice family Mexican restaurant right off I-94 in the state capital. Apparently Paradiso is a local chain but it has the feel of being a standalone independent restaurant. Nice lunch menu. This place is average at best. The classic taco salad with shredded beef was $8.50 and it didn't even include beans, or a good salad mix. It only had cheap shredded iceberg lettuce, cold beef, 4 olives, and shredded cheese. It definitely wasn't worth the price. It seems like they have risen their prices too, probably to make up for the lack of business. Seriously save your money and go to a business that cares about quality and providing a good consistent product. read more

Quick service with a friendly waitress. The food was good and the cheese dip was tasty. Their shiny star is their spicy salsa! Super yummy. Ask for it when you eat here. The veggies were a new thing for me on a Mexican dish, but they were good. read more
