I went paragliding here by recommendation. Hernon was our instructor person. And he was great! You pay a reservation fee that goes towards the amount. We had to walk up the hill a bit which was a ways up because of the low wind at the time. But it was definitely worth it and it was a beautiful starting point. They were all nice a friendly. Recommend bringing cash because of spotty cell service. But great experience!

Amazing! I booked it online and followed up with Mike on the 530-263-7558 number; the other one kept directing me to voicemail. My friend and I originally booked for Sat but were informed the wind was blowing in the opposite direction, so we rebooked for Sun and I'm glad we did! It was a rare (or, not so rare anymore?) sunny October morning. Wind was good and my friend even saw a dolphin! I was with Mike and he was kind enough to keep the gliding to a smooth ride because I was a bit nervous with the turns I saw from other gliders (unless you wanted to see vomit a la Exorcist style on the coast). Spectacular views! I honestly don't know how else to see the coast from anywhere but from up in the sky. Highly recommend. Mike was very communicative--there were so many back and forth phone calls that I felt like we were BFFs before I even met him in person! Currently waiting for him to upload and share the photos he took, but I would honestly be okay even if he didn't. I took some pretty great ones myself. P.S. I saw a flying witch on a broomstick!

This was a surprise for my wife. She had an amazing experience and her ride was amazing. They are super friendly. Highly recommend this experience.

This was such an amazing experience! I went for my birthday and I'm glad I did! I flew with David and I felt so secure and happy the whole time! As a first time flyer he made me feel very calm, it's sooooo much fun and I think anyone thinking about paragliding should definitely do it!

This was an incredible experience. Paragliding had been on my bucket list of things to try for a very long time and Mike and his team absolutely knocked it out of the park. The booking process was super easy. I called the number listed on their site and made a reservation over the phone no credit card or anything was required. After making the reservation I received a text detailing what to expect on the day of the flight along with a bunch of other useful information like what to wear, a link to their online waiver system etc. The evening before the flight I received a text confirming that the weather forecast looked good and that the flight was on for the next day. When I arrived at the flying site the instructions how to get over to the actual launch location were very simple to follow and Mike and his team were there waiting when I arrived. As for the flight itself it's one of those experiences that defies description. It was absolutely mind-blowing. Some of the most incredible views I have ever seen. The sensation a flying above the treetops, ocean, and cliffs which line the coast was truly incredible. After this experience I'm considering taking lessons and learning to fly on my own!

Been wanting to check tandem paragliding off of my bucket list and am happy to announce that today I've officially did it! Booking an appointment was so easy- I just called the number provided and Mike happened to have the slot that I wanted available. Initially I was a bit nervous, as I have never been paragliding before but once I was up in the air, I felt comfortable enough to take photos with my phone. The view was breathtaking and it felt like I was sitting in a chair up in the sky just having a 360 view of nature. Would recommend paragliding at least once in your lifetime, and Paragliding SF is who you should book it with!

TL;DR: Awesome tandem paragliding experience with Mike. Thoughts: If you asked me a year ago whether I would ever try paragliding, I would definitely say no. But then one day I realized that I hadn't really taken enough risk in my life and I should try something out of my comfort zone. After quite a bit of internal struggles in my mind, I decided to schedule a tandem paragliding session with Mike. The whole scheduling process was quite smooth; I just gave Mike a call and received all the info I needed via text. My paragliding session was rescheduled twice because of weather conditions. I really appreciated Mike was really making sure the weather conditions were perfect for a great paragliding experience! Finally the weather conditions were great and we were flying at Mussel Rock! It's truly the closest flying-like-a-bird experience I had ever had in my life. Mike was very accommodating: he asked if I wanted something more exciting or more calm; after a sharp turn I decided that I would rather have my first flight calm and smooth. You can see how much fun I was having from my smile! I wish the weather were less foggy but I still got to enjoy a great view that I would have never seen on the ground!

Such a great experience. My first and definitely not my last . I can't wait to fly with you guys again and hopefully next time I can convince my friends to come along as well! Definitely one for the books !

Five of us kicked off birthday celebrations with some paragliding with Mike and team and had the best time! Cannot recommend them enough and cannot wait till next time!

I had such a great time today! Soaring through the sky is both an adrenaline rush and so calming. Mike was a great guide and made me feel safe and comfortable. The whole experience was so easy. I booked online within a few minutes, I followed the directions provided to get to our meet up, and within a few clicks was safely secured in the harness and ready to be in the sky. Everything was so smooth and effortless. I WILL be back.

This was the coolest experience ever! There's a reason they only have 5 star reviews! If the wind is not decent enough, they won't fly and ruin the experience. Mike, Hernan, and David really cared about getting our best experience! My bf was so high it was insane and they did tricks! I was too scared to go as high but still loved it all the same! Also got to see lots of WHALES feeding!!!

Incredible views of the Pacific coast!

Can finally check off skydiving from my bucket list!…read more My friends and I came here twice but were only able to skydive once. The first time we came was when there was a fire incident (not their fault), causing the airport to be shutdown. Thankfully, we were able to jump the second time we came. Upon arriving, you are required to fill out a waiver and watch a video about safety and onboarding. If you are over 200 lbs, be prepared to pay $1 per lb. The first time we came, the person helping us said that we could decide to purchase the photos/videos after recording them, since we were unsure whether we wanted them. The second time we came, they didn't allow us to do that and made us pay upfront. When we came to skydive, they were quite behind schedule. Our reservation was at 12 pm, but we didn't start until 1 pm. They can only bring up 2 people at a time due to the size of the plane, so if you're coming with a large group, expect to go in pairs. Each pair took around 30-45 minutes; we finished all our jumps around 2:45 pm. The skydiving experience itself was AMAZING! My instructor was Gus, who was super chill and explained to me all the instructions. I loved his enthusiasm and he made me feel so calm yet excited to jump. Greg is the other instructor, and he is also very detailed in his explanations. The plane ride up was smooth, although it's a bit tight and there are no seats. You get a nice view of the city and north bay once you're up in the air. You climb up to around 9000 in altitude, before the first person goes in their tandem skydive. At the end of your skydive, you get a certificate. If you want to get a skydiving license, you have to dive 25 times, and this counts as one of the dives. If this is your first time skydiving, I'd encourage you to get the video/photos to look back on. The whole thing goes by so fast. The video was a bit cringe to film and watch back, but I don't have any regrets getting it. It is $100 if you want either video or photos or $140 for both. The photos are just stills from the video, so it's bit pricey to pay an extra $40 on top for both. Overall, I had a fun time skydiving with Skydive Golden Gate. The instructors and staff were great, and the whole experience was thrilling and certainly gave me an adrenaline rush. The main downsides were the delays in schedule and the pricing for photos/videos. That being said though, I would still come back here and jump again!

There were 2 other attendees other than my boyfriend and myself, so our class was a total of 4 people, all of us beginners. One person had taken classes before, but was doing more lessons in order to get his hang 1 license. Mike starts the class by introducing himself and teaching us some safety lessons. We put together the hang glide together as a group, and he teaches us the different parts of the hang glide and how they work together. Then, we roll the glider up a small hill and he gives us some pointers on how to approach the lesson and what to do what we start running and once the glider starts taking off! The lesson was from about 8am to noon. Mike REALLY works for the money he makes during these lessons - he is running up and down the hill, and coordinating to make sure that everyone gets plenty of time on the hang glide. His passion for this sport is palpable, and it's clear he is friends with all the other folks at the area / park that morning who are regular hang gliders. This is a really fun activity to do on a weekend morning, not to mention the VIEWS are amazing. Attaching some photos as proof! Overall I had a GREAT time and would certainly consider taking more classes with Mike!

When picking a school most important to me was safety, in which Penguin excels. Their equipment is modern and well maintained (in fact Mike is a local authority on equipment configuration and maintenance). There is always at most a few students per instructor so they can make sure everyone gets the attention they need. They never hesitate to modify or cancel class if unsafe conditions exist. Like most people I don't have a very flexible schedule so the convenience of Penguin holding classes every day except during scheduled closures is the only way I could have ever achieved my P2. It also shows the passion that the instructors have for teaching as well as paragliding. The education and support you get is comprehensive: skills, theory, site etiquette, help purchasing and maintaining your gear... everything you need to feel confident you'll be able to continue to fly after graduating. There is a strong emphasis on including you in the Penguin community. After graduating you will always have people to fly with, to practice with, and to ask for advice. This is important because for safety reasons you shouldn't paraglide alone. Finally I want to say something about paragliding itself. It is the most minimalist and elegant way to fly. There are no engines, lines, airports, tickets, etc. You just hike to the top of a hill, pull your wing out of your backpack, and fly like a bird. It's one of the most exhilarating and freeing experiences I have ever had.
