Staff is kind but for the office manager. Our dermatologist was switched mid-treatment with only info provided being that our healthcare provider was no longer paying for her services but was reassigned to one that was approved??? It is difficult to get anyone on the phone and everything is handled via text messaging that takes days to reach conclusion. Office manager was rude and hung up on both me, the care giver and the patient (who has Alzheimers) With absolutely zero care given for a patient who received pre-cancerous biopsy. Reply: OM refused to listen to what I was saying and instead chose to treat me as though i was argumentative which i was not. She refused to speak directly to patient since her office failed to have us sign release form the many times we were in the office or i was in communication with them the last 6 months. Several years ago, I went in for my appointment, and waited 2 hours past the scheduled time. In the exam room, the lady who I saw, spent maybe 3 minutes with me. I have since read and heard stories from other people, that this place is horrible. It was a bad enough experience, that it has stayed with me for quite some time. My primary referred me to Paragon for some precancerous lesions on my face. The PA Aaron did two biopsies. I never got results posted to my account, so called the office. The receptionist did read the results to me, but couldn't provide any explanation. I'm an RN and was able to figure out the results myself. I had a second appointment to freeze the biopsied sites with liquid nitrogen. No instructions given on caring for the sites. During both visits Aaron was considerably less than professional. On one visit he went off on a tangent about a Seinfeld episode on a dermatologist called "The Cutter." Just plain weird. At my second visit, he and his MA talked over me about random stuff including Costco purchases as if I wasn't there. Came across as an immature frat boy. Didn't exactly inspire trust in his competence. I was surprised to learn I was treated by a PA rather than a dermatologist. Unfortunately this is the only dermatology practice in our area. read more

New patient, I arrived a little early to complete check-in, waited perhaps 5 minutes before I was taken to the exam room. We went through my history, then I prepared for the checkup. The nurse practitioner (Shelly) came in a few minutes later and did a thorough exam with plenty of information and discussion. The staff were VERY considerate and thoughtful. I was a new patient at Paragon Dermatology today. I was checked in in a timely manner, waited less than 5 minutes after check-in to be called back, and my examination started just a short time later. Most importantly I was treated respectfully. I went in with a lot of self-consciousness, but was treated so kindly that it made me feel a lot better. I am writing this review for my mother Diane. She saw CaSondra Banks for a wort treatment. She claimed to have provided multipe services that she did not. If you go here be sure to closely inspect your "visit note"/writeup. This writeup was laughably inaccurate! For example: She claimed to have done a full face/neck/ears inspection, clearly this did not happen as she did not note and no discussion took place regarding her sebaceous cyst on her neck. She was only there for treatment of worts nothing else. Strongly recommend looking for a different Dermatologist and/or Clinic. read more

Had a cyst drained. No written aftercare instructions given. Followup visit, more stuff drained. No extra bandages given as wound still leaked. Supposedly sent some keratins to lab but never got results back. No followup call to see how I was doing, etc. 3 weeks later finally starting to heal. Will go to Olympic Medical next time. read more

I really like David Richardson. He is efficient, knowledgeable, does what you ask, and explains things. He also tells you if you want something insurance is not likely to pay for. For the most part I see David and am well pleased with his work. I have had 3 serious cancers. I have had to follow up with Dr Neimeyer. I like her work very much but am not a fan of her practice. It seems like I have always waited to see her for an hour or more past my scheduled time. She often is booked weeks out and making an appointment takes the patience of Job. I leave messages and call back only to get the answering machine. This is why I can only give them a three star rating. read more

I've seen several dermatologists over the years as I still struggle with acne. This is the worst ever. All David did was try to sell me $60+ products. He was absolutely no help. He kept telling me things he could do but wasn't going to, instead all he did was push the expensive products and then tell me if I didn't use them there was no reason to come back because my skin wouldn't have improved any. He was horribly rude and I would never recommend anyone visit Paragon Dermatology. They're a ripoff and trying to take advantage of a retirement community. read more

If I were rating only David Richardson and his professionalism, skill, ability to calm, and humor when needed and appropriate, I would give five plus stars. My experience with Dr. N. was also very good, as with the clinical staff. My downgrade is because I find the patient information portal quite difficult to navigate and because getting information on results via phone call is problematic at best. I'm a little surprised that anyone downgraded their rating to one star based on an overcharge. I've never felt they tried to "sell" me on additional work; in fact, they dissuaded me from an elective cosmetic procedure in which I was interested. read more

I finally had a visit at Paragon Dermatology today after waiting a month to get in. It was a huge disappointment. First of all, I was referred by my primary care physician who's specialty is Family Medicine. She referred me with a tentative diagnosis for further assessment, diagnosis and treatment. Since I was referred for the expertise of a specialist I expected to see a Specialist. I was seen by a young man named Aaron Rasmussen. He didn't seem that knowledgeable and didn't really listen to me. When he left the room after our encounter, I asked the Medical Assistant if he was a dermatologist. She answered that he was a Physician Assistant. Seems like that should be a breach of ethics. My personal doctor referred me to a specialist and I was seen by a PA. I am pretty sure my doctor expected me to see a specialist or she wouldn't have referred me to a specialist. I went from being treated by a primary care physician to being treated by a PA. I received no medication save for some topicals that I don't expect to get much relief from. Even though I expressed my negative feelings about oily greasy substances on my skin to both the Medical Assistant and the PA that was the recommendation. He also took a punch skin sample for biopsy even though one had been done by my primary care provider. He also took a sample of a little brown spot on my chest that has been present for many years and has never changed. I was initally excited about having a specialist on my case, but my visit to paragon was very disappointing. They certainly do not live up to the Paragon name. read more

First dermatologist(s) I have ever seen that I can trust completely. The people are kind and Dr. Niemeyer is an artist when it comes to her surgical skills. The new P.A., Michole, is also very knowledgeable and thorough. It is a pleasure to be taken care of by the people at this practice. I've seen 2 other dermatologists on the Olympic Peninsula and no one reaches the level of skill, knowledge and patient care as does Paragon Dermatology. read more

Who knows what goes on here? They don't answer your calls. They don't call you back. They must be short staffed. Even if the doctor is good, she has too much on her plate to pay attention to you. My elderly father had biopsies in September 2018 and malignant carcinoma was discovered. The Dr. has his records since she is the one who diagnosed it. However, he cannot make an appointment for Mohs surgery, either by phone or in person. Since no one calls him back, I told him to drive into the office. Even then, they would not give him an appointment. They keep giving him the runaround, telling him to call back on Friday. He called and left a message. He is always told to call back. They do not care about their patients or new patients here. Go somewhere else. Very poor customer service. I DO NOT recommend this place! read more

The first appt, I waiting over 2 hours and missed a dental appointment. after finally seeing the dr and having a biopsy done on my back I needed to come back to have the pre-cancer growth removed. I asked for the 1st AM appointment to ensure I wouldn't have to wait. My appt was 8:15, I was numbed up at 9:30 and at 10: 45 I walked out never seeing the dr. I will NOT ever go back there again. I was very impressed with the efficiency of the staff, although it was a delay to be seen of about 30 mins. past my appt. time, they continued to address all questions from other patients, with a smile. I felt the nurse Maggie was very clear in her explanations and questions when I was escorted into the exam room. She was friendly and very professional. David, P.A. introduced himself immediately and asked what were my concerns. He did a few different procedures, explained what would happen with the biopsy and asked if I had any other questions. This was my first visit and as a patient we are always a little nervous about our health, but I was put to ease with both the nurse and doctor. I went to Paragon Dermatology for a biopsy. It was the first time I'd ever been to a Derm and I was a little nervous. The support staff was wonderfully gentle and friendly, and David Richardson was indeed a "paragon" of professional expertise and courtesy. He took the time to explain carefully to me some medical details and had a calming and knowledgeable presence. My wait time was nonexistent. I was seen exactly on time. I was also grateful for the convenience of the patient web portal to view the details of the biopsy. That too, was really fast. I'd been told to expect 2 weeks wait for the results but it was only a couple of days. A very positive experience. read more

I was referred to the Paragon Dermatology clinic by my primary care physician. After reading some of the negative online reviews I was very concerned about my appointment. However I really needed to see someone as I have a very suspicious mole. So I went ahead and made the appointment and kept it with some apprehension. My fears were unfounded. They have apparently listened to the reviews and cleaned up their Scheduling challenges. I only had to wait maybe seven or eight minutes. And that's normal for any doctors office. As a new patient, I arrived 8 minutes early. Had all my forms filled out and then was asked to sign a "Zero Tolerance" sheet in regard to abusive attitudes, language toward the staff. At the end of my visit, I understand why. I took time off from work (unpaid) to go to this Dr. appointment. After waiting 1 1/2 hours, I went to the receptionist and asked when I would be seen. She said she'd check on it. 5 minutes later, she came back and said that it would be another 40 minutes "or so". UNACCEPTABLE. She then explained that "she's always running behind towards the end of the day". Once again, UNACCEPTABLE. This is no way to treat a new patient or existing as well. They then tried to reschedule me with her and then another person there who "usually doesn't run late" for another day. I promptly asked for me paperwork back and told them I'd go to somewhere else. SUBSTANDARD treatment is not acceptable in dealing with the public. The lack of communication during this process is/was beyond frustrating and I hope you think twice before going there. read more

This is by far the best dermatologist team around! I drive all the way from the Everett area to see Dr Niemeyer because she is the best! She found things that no other dermatologist has been able to find and now my skin is so much better! I highly recommend Paragon Dermatology to everyone!!! Yesterday I had a cancer spot removed and the care she took to make sure everything was taken out and sewn back up so there will be very little or no scarring is beyond perfection!!! read more

In two words - Rip Off! ZERO stars for Paragon! Made an appointment for a mole that changed colors. I have medical insurance, but I have a pretty big deductible. So, I specifically asked how much the procedure would be. The receptionist was very vague and would not answer my question. The mole was less than 1/4 inch wide. I spent 30 minutes waiting, 10 min with the nurse for blood pressure and standard questioning. 10 min with the Physician's Assistant (David Richardson, not a doctor). The PA shaved the mole off and dropped it in a vile. He then saw a wart on my hand that was about the same size, i.e., 1/4 in, and asked if I wanted that removed. I said sure (little did I know how much extra this would be). PA recommended that I come back for a "full body exam". Fast forward a month, received the bill. All said for my 10 min Physician's Assistant visit, near $1,000.00 billed. My insurance company was able to whittle it down to an allowed amount out of pocket of approx $390. Here's what they tried to charge me. $106 for walking thru the door. Approx $280 for the mole. Approx $270 for the wart. $25 for dropping things into a vile (yes, separate charge!). Approx $320 for the lab work. Apparently, 10 min with a Physician's Assistant is approx $1000.00!!! Think I picked the wrong profession! They have a shady practice at Paragon Dermatology! They are in the business of scaring you into and talking you into having more things cut off of you. The more they cut off, the more they charge! Don't ask about charges for different procedures, that would make them reveal how much they intend to rip you off! read more

The front desk knows NOTHING. Don't try to ask questions of them. I have never seen my results show up in My Chart. After your visit, they give only verbal discharge instructions, no written ones. She teaches her staff on processing information on her clients time. She has no consideration for her clients time. Then, call backs with important information not made. I accompanied my granddaughter twice. Wait times suck...3 hours both times. Although Dr seems rushed, probably do to overbooking, she spent ample time explaining everything and seems to invest in patients wellbeing, offering follow through and assistance. Her accent makes it difficult to understand everything but staff helps clarify. The only real downside are those horrible wait times. She needs to study patient flow and book accordingly. I would not recommend this dermatologist to anyone. I got a doctor referral to go see them to which it took them two weeks to respond. I then had to wait three months for their first available appointment. I got to the office 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment and then had to wait and hour and - half before they let me back into a room. The doctors assistant came in and took some notes and then after another fifteen more minutes the doctor finally came in. She read the notes her assistant had made with no regard to my dermatological history or what I was trying to tell her. I was then handed a list of prescriptions and things I knew I was unable to put on my skin. She spoke over me and treated me as though I didn't know anything about my skin. I'm no medical expert but I know I will be looking elsewhere for a dermatologist. read more

After being a patient here for three years, I've had it and I will not go back. Spending at least an hour waiting in the examination room EVERY time I have an appointment (regardless of the time of day) is inexcusable. Once I had to wait two hours (with no apology from the doctor once she finally appeared). Deplorable. read more

After spending 2 hours in the waiting room and then 45 minutes in the patient's room, I finally saw Dr. Niemeyer. She was brisk and thorough. I felt she was competent. But then I got the bills. I went in for toe fungus, and a pretty obvious case of it too. But she still ordered $300 worth of tests just to make sure. I grumpily paid these bills. Then, fifteen months later, I received the bill from her office. The ones I had previously paid were from test facilities (unrealized by me); her billing office had apparently missed sending me one from the previous year. By this point I was angry because not only did I have to cough up the money myself, since they had waited so long to bill me that my FSA no longer applied, but by this point I could tell that my toe fungus was still very present on my toe. I would recommend driving to Silverdale. read more

After my daughter waited over an hour an a half for her appointment, she was greeted by someone besidea the doctor, who explained to her that she was only allowed to be seen for one thing and couldn't bring up other issues because everyone does that and that's what makes the doctor so late for the next appointment. She has had 2 pre-melanoma moles removed and suffers from dry, itchy patches. She waited 2 months to be able to get in to this doctor. She was told she could make another appointment if she wanted to discuss or have her moles checked. Then, after another 15 minutes, the doctor came in, was reluctant to look at the patches she had, saying "I've seen this type before". She spent about 10 minutes with my daughter. We just got the bill. $407 for a "45 minute appointment". Really? read more

I had recently moved back to the Olympic Peninsula in Spring of 2014 when I had an unfortunate experience with an inexperienced aesthetician that left my face skin seriously traumatized and vulnerable to infection. Despite the fact that I was a new patient, I was fitted in to Dr. Niemeyer's extremely busy schedule and received timely and expert attention. Because I was no stranger to the medical service realities of the Olympic Peninsula, I knew that getting fit into a schedule...even IF the physician has room for a new patient, was going to be a challenge. The Peninsula is underserved with specialists and despite the wait...which I was prepared for...I found Dr. Niemeyer not only very skillful, attentive and informative but also very personable. She has become my "go-to" dermatologist for annual check-up scans for skin cancer, a commitment I made to myself years ago after a family member was diagnosed and treated for a malignant melanoma. The only other dermatology practice in Sequim was taking no new patients. There are no dermatologists in Jefferson County where I live. I could probably find someone in the Poulsbo or Silverdale are...but I'd be spending time in the extensive commute. If you need specialist treatment and live on the Peninsula, it's important to adjust the expectation for prompt treatment. I'm just glad that Dr. Niemeyer is in practice on the Peninsula. I know that she is the resource I would want to have available in the event of a serious dermatological issue. She's clearly a highly skilled physician, but is a delightful person to boot and a pleasure to work with. The only reason I gave the practice 4 stars IS because of the delays involved, but it's my understanding that a Physician's Ass't will be joining the practice soon (Fall of 2015) and some of the extensive waits will be eased. read more
