Food: The smoked salmon egg and toast was the best smoked salmon toast I have ever eaten. It was beautifully plated and looked very aesthetic. The flavor combination was so good and balanced, with nothing overpowering the other. The toast itself was perfectly toasted. The salads are okay but pretty and the teriyaki chicken bowl was pretty good in flavor. Everything is on the healthier end yet enjoyable. Service: The service was super kind, patient, and helpful which made the experience even better. Ambiance: The cafe is very open, bright, and spacious with a really aesthetic feel. It has such cute decor. It is located within a business area inside one of the buildings. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. I absolutely love coming here for my daily caffeine fix! The space is definitely a little hidden inside of a corporate biotech building but the advantage is that there's this beautiful community garden that gets monarch butterflies right outside and a bunch of outdoor seating always available. Super cute! The food is really solid and there's plenty of options with a menu that changes every so often (bring back the chicken noodle soup!!). The almond croissant is one of my favorite snacks to get. Other recommendations would be the breakfast croissant sandwich, the shakshuka, and the breakfast burrito (level it up by adding turkey bacon!) I think that what really keeps me coming back though is the amazing staff that runs this place. Roderick always makes sure that everything is absolutely perfect. You can tell that he really cares about making sure your order is exactly the way you want it and that you leave completely satisfied. I've been to the the other Parakeet location in Del Mar and I had to say this is better in my opinion, mostly because it's more of a co-working space so you it's not extremely busy and noisy, making it a perfect place. It's also bigger than the Del Mar location and it has a loooot of couches, tables and high tables inside as well as some outdoor tables. I believe it's in a shared office space and there are a lot of offices in the area. I ordered a latte and it was great! The staff was also very friendly. One of my favorite places to have lunch as well as grab a chai or cappuccino on the way to work. The breakfast and lunch options are healthy and delicious, from the toasts and special bowls (the Parakeet Bowl with salmon is one of my favorites) and tempting desserts. The staff is exceptional and Roderick always goes above and beyond and makes everyone feel welcome. I especially like the atmosphere and the beautiful garden. I can't recommend it enough and it is my favorite place to take people for a birthday lunch or for a meeting. In regard to parking there is both a free lot (it can be a little tough to find the first time). There are 15 minute spots in front of Parakeet which makes it super easy to grab tea or coffee in the morning. read more

The first thing that stood out to me is the service. Roderick the manager was super attentive, kind and gracious when handling our order. He was very detail oriented with our order making sure there was nothing that we were allergic to in our meal. Taking that time and care is something that we have found to be super rare. The food was fresh and prepped made to order. Everything was really yummy. The coffee was also super delicious. I also appreciated how many options there were that were vegan and gluten free both savory and sweet. I almost always get the salmon, and it's fresh and perfectly cooked every time! The space is big and clean and outside there is a beautiful and much loved veggie and flower garden. With some of my favorites being the ceasar wrap, shakshuka, eggs Benedict, and lavender matcha late. Sadly, they discontinued some of my favorite dishes (surfer burrito and power bowl), but they are always looking to add new items that have been great. Really appreciate the staff! Super cute cafe tucked in the middle of a small campus of office buildings. There is plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, and the decor is so cute! I love all the pink! I ordered the Thai bowl with tofu and a London fog. The London fog was delicious! Definitely hit the spot. It was the right temperature and not overly sweet at all. I did like the flavors of the Thai bowl but felt that it was oversaturated in sauce. If I didn't add on the tofu, I don't think that I would have liked it as much. The tofu was very tasty and had a great consistency. I did like the different textures within the bowl and it was fairly filling. For $8 add-on price, I wish there was at least 1 more piece of tofu. read more

The inside and outside are both spacious, and offer a variety of seating, including a large table perfect for a casual business meeting. The food here was 10/10. I had the avocado toast which was perfectly crunchy and an awesome flavor. The beets really make this plate. The salmon I added and was perfectly crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. This is a cute breakfast/lunch spot. Service is 10/10 and extremely helpful as well. There is a good variety of food and drinks even for the pickiest of people. Food options are endless and they are easily willing to accommodate on modifications. Prices are reasonable for the portion and high quality ingredients. Got the power bowl with a side of chicken sausage and fresh greens. This was AMAZING. The potatoes, roasted mushrooms and cauliflower with heirloom tomatoes were to die for, with the hummus/zatar sauce it was so flavorful and the side salad was a great addition. I've been working my way through a variety of Parakeet's locations. Their coffee and coffee drinks are absolutely fantastic. So far my favorites are the Avocado Toast (a little spicier than some but the Harvest Toast is less so), and the Surfr Burrito. I was a little skeptical at the idea of a their cauliflower Chorizo but it was absolutely fantastic. Mad respect for not taking the easy way out and using a prefab soyrizo. The two we interacted with were very friendly. FOOD Cacao Waffle - The waffle is beautiful! The presentation was so good but the taste did not match it. The waffle itself was very mushy. It did not hold well. It almost seemed undercooked. The coconut yogurt on top was very sour which was really odd. Belgian Waffle - Same presentation. Such a pretty waffle. This was better than the cacao but it was slightly dry. Breakfast Burrito w Chicken - I am a huge breakfast burrito girl so I wanted to try this. For the most part, the flavor was good. It was definitely "healthier". Some of the potatoes were undercooked and hard though so the inconsistency of the food was a bit disappointing. Overall, some food improvements to be made. I found Nirvana! I was so happy yesterday when I found another cute Parakeep coffee shop-eatery so close to my work place! Soooo cute, comfortable to work from there and across one of those amazing corporate farms, so everything you get is farm-to-fork (well, except the coffee, I hope it comes from Colombia:). This is going to be my secret place, but I cannot keep secrets and I love to socialize. So hopefully more people who work in the companies nearby can be as fascinated as me with the parakeets in the wall papers! It is very spacious and that communal table in real wood is super. The whole atmosphere is girlie-letstakeaselfie and post on Insta vibe that I love. The music they put is also very cool and even attending work calls was not very disrupting. Had brunch with a friend. They must be busy at lunch as the tables are crowded so close that it is difficult to navigate. ( I am a thin guy) This is further an issue as this it the type of place that you stand in line to make an order like a fast food restaurant and then given a number. (they do not take cash) The poor delivery person had to contort. Which may explain why my $7 decaf coffee with almond milk in a 6 oz cup was only 1/2 full ( no refills) I had a tasty $19 dollar waffle and my friend had $23 burger with a 2 inch meat patty that he said was overcooked. (like a hockey puck) He added some of his salad to make the burger edible. We got the general impression the food is made offsite and reheated.
