Had a really good experience today! Shout out to Andrew who helped us after running into some issues with the app and gift card we had. He couldn't have handled it any better. Additionally, I redeemed my bday treat today for the strawberry muffin, and he surprised us by putting an extra one in our bag. Great customer service and looking forward to returning! What we tried - the new green coconut curry. Delicious! If you like a creamy curry, you'll enjoy their version. Only things I wish was for more veggies and maybe the option to have brown rice instead of white. I think you can add a protein, so if you get this, I'd recommend adding tofu! Meh, it was ok but not that exciting. I had the Cobb Salad, we also had the Poke Bowl and the Mediterranean Chicken Kabob. Menu descriptions set up my expectations for something else. I was hoping to see abundant lettuces, some avocado, healthy pieces of roasted turkey, punchy gorgonzola vinaigrette. I got what seemed like not a lot of lettuces, watery diced up sliced turkey spread throughout, some fresh avocado, and a mild but tasty vinaigrette, and some good pickled onions. So it wasn't what I was expecting for a Cobb Salad, but rather felt like a watered down and small version. Chicken Kabob had only small diced up chicken, no chunks of chicken like you might expect and no smoky flavors. Tuna poke had some good raw tuna, rice, greens etc. But what I really felt like was going on here is that instead of price inflation we have portion reduction. All our bowls were on the smaller side, though the prices are still decent for what you can get nowadays. Lunch for four almost $100. Just not deeply satisfying. Service was quick and prompt and there is plenty of great outdoor seating. Looking for an ok healthy bite you can go here, but reality did not meet my expectations here. read more

Saturday, 3-25-2026: After trying FC in Las Vegas, we had to try this one in Del Mar. We stopped for a late lunch here before continuing to the San Diego Home & Garden Show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. When we first arrived, we noticed it had the same artsy, loft vibe & decor as the one in Las Vegas. At first glance it seemed like it had a small interior but then we noticed the stairs to get to a lower level to the left of us. This led to a very spacious room! Love the decor and the layout. There's more seating outdoors, which we attempted but it had too cold of a breeze so we decided to sit indoors. We were greeted warmly by a nice young man at the counter. My hubby told him we had eaten at the FC in Las Vegas and he told us he was going to train as a manager in Las Vegas. I ordered the Chicken Yakisoba Bowl and hubby ordered the Chicken Entree with brown rice and sweet potato fries with dip. We easily found a table in the lower level as there was hardly anybody down there. But, as the time progressed it became full with young soccer players and their respective families. Apparently, the soccer games ended in the nearby fields & they all descended upon FC. Our food came out quickly. I savored my Chicken Yakisoba Bowl chock full of crispy vegetables and flavorful chicken. It was huge so I had to take leftovers to go. My hubby loved his meal, too. I've driven past this place for years and finally stopped. I had the French dip. It was the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten. I had to throw most of it out because the pita bread was soggy from being soaked in juice. The caramelized onions were loaded on the bread. It was filled with lettuce, like a pound of lettuce, and then the meat, which was very underwhelming. They need to take this off the menu. And, it was $15! read more

Vegans and vegetarians rejoice as Flower Child blossoms in this busy shopping center serving a plethora of health-conscious dishes balanced in nutritional value, flavor and texture. This packed parking lot seldomly has spots near the storefronts but if you venture further out, you should be able to find some spaces sprinkled throughout the lot. There's a good bit of churn so even if it's full during peak times, you'll eventually find a spot after circling a bit. Flower Child has a pretty big footprint within the mall hosting an upper area with a more cafe feel with smaller tables and stools and a lower area with larger tables and booths. The register is on the top level where you'll place your order for takeout or dine in. If you do dine in, they'll give you a number to place at the table you end up sitting for their staff to deliver the food to you. Their menu is quite extensive ranging from wraps and salads to more traditional American entrees with a combination of meat and side dishes. For those with dietary restrictions, you're bound to find something that fits your craving. Their sides are probably the highlight given the variety and richness in flavors. I ended up getting the salmon entree which got completely overshadowed by its two sides. The salmon itself was overcooked and lacked in flavor yet was serviceable in boosting the protein content of the meal. The mac and cheese was creamy and hearty despite being gluten free, however, I'd prefer more bite to it. The cauliflower was flavorful and was super enjoyable to eat due to its tenderness and size variability between pieces. As a whole, the dish had everything you'd want but individually, they wouldn't have stood up on their own. In addition to the savory, the sweets are also something to consider. The chocolate chip cashew cookie has great texture as you bite into the chunky yet moist dessert. The crunch from the nuts and the soft, sweetness from the chocolate make this decedent snack a great capstone to your meal. We also ordered one of their sangrias to share among the table and it was quite refreshing. It wasn't too complex in flavor but it was a nice change up to the typical tap water. The staff were very friendly throughout the meal service including the one who took our order and the one who served our meal. Overall, Flower Child clearly is making a statement with its menu full of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free items. Their dietary inclusive environment welcomes all types of eaters to come enjoy their creations while maintaining a balance of all the food groups. The execution of their dishes are a bit lackluster and some items, even their prized sides, are hit or miss. The prices are reasonable for the variety of food you're getting but the portion size is on the smaller side. If you happen to be in the area and are looking for a good combination of healthy ingredients for a quick meal, then Flower Child might be a good option for you. Personally, I wouldn't travel far for this but if you're looking for a healthy detox while needing to eat out, it's not a bad option! read more

Came here from Pilates Class. Food was delicious! I love the layout of the restaurant and bright ambiance. The service was great too. Food: Mediterranean Chicken Kabob - Delicious flavor! Veggies & chicken cooked perfectly and I loved the fluffiness of the rice with quinoa. I also enjoyed how the veggies still have some crunch and they weren't mushy. Avocado Hummus with Pita & Raw Veggies - Fresh crunchy veggies, the colorful carrots were my favorite, pita was packed with healthy grains and tasty. Avocado hummus was the best part. Chocolate Chip Cashew Cookie- I love a good chocolate chip cookie. Perfectly chewy and a bit of crunch. It has just the right amount of buttery flavor and the chocolate was fantastic. I always go to Flower child if i crave a heathy, nourishing but hearty salad or a warm bowl with veggies and protein. This fast casual restaurant offers healthy and balanced meals. The kids menu is excellent and doesn't have any fried ingredients and fairly priced. There is a beautiful and large outdoor back patio with plenty of shade. I love trying their seasonal sangrias ! its a counter order place, so service is minimal yet polite. I have been here twice so far and really enjoyed the food. The location is very spacious inside, and has plenty of parking. You order at the counter and they give you a number to place on your table. We had a larger party, and there was plenty of room just down the stairwell. The food here tastes very fresh. This time I had the soba noodles which I greatly enjoyed. It does have nuts in it, some vegetables, and chicken. They also had 2 house made sangria flavors, and they let us sample some to decide the one we wanted. Both were pretty good and I ordered a glass. I tried a bite of the sweet potato fries which they served with ranch that tasted like it was made in house. They were very good and a bit addicting. Ok I wish I took a picture of my food but I killed it so fast! I first tried the wrap with steak which I wasn't crazy about but we tried it another time and I got the Chile beef bowl...amazing!! The beef is very tender and has sucha strong, intense flavor (in a good way). The bowl is just missing a sauce of some type as it is just a bit dry overall (the beef alone doesn't make up for it). Then there's a large room downstairs and a nice large outdoor patio in the back. Everything is decorated really cute. The staff is nice and friendly when they took our orders at the counter and when delivering our food to the table. I'm deducting stars because the portions were pretty small for how much I paid. I ordered the $17+ braised bed pot roast plate. What got dropped off at the table looked like half an order with a small scoop of mushy mashed potatoes. $17 plus a fountain drink was a $23 lunch before I even added the tip. For an average tasting lunch. Maybe I should have ordered the wrap like my friend. It had a full size wrap and came with a small side salad. Parking was also a nightmare. Went to celebrate my sister's birthday at one of her favorite restaurants, Flower Child in Del Mar. The restaurant was bright and airy and the staff was welcoming and very attentive. You place your order at the counter, find a seat and they bring the food to you. Drinks are self serve. The atmosphere here is casual and relaxed. We arrived at 11:30 am on a Sunday and the restaurant didn't get busy until 12:30 so get there early to beat the lunch crowd. I decided to order the Steak Plate that included two sides. I chose macaroni and cheese and smashed gold potatoes. The steak was perfectly cooked and tender. The smashed potatoes were light and fluffy and the mac and cheese with aged white cheddar and parmesan was creamy. The perfect sides for the dish. I also tried the Red Mango Acai iced tea which was decaf, but I really enjoyed the Rose Petal lemonade which was sweet, tangy and refreshing. Overall, I really enjoyed my first visit to Flower Child and will definitely return. From the friendly staff to the casual feel of the restaurant, it's a great place to relax and enjoy a meal with family and friends. read more

I'd say the second experience of coming here and being a little mindful of picking items that I'd assume that wouldn't have anything spicy in it. I did well with the kale salad. It tasted as if it was chopped finely and then blanched; as its body of the kale retained its crispiness with some type of sauce that may have been similar to green goddess and was happy to blend it with the gluten-free mac & cheese that was cooked well and creamy. And the steak was cooked to perfection with a little bit of sea salt dashed on the top as the steak as it did come, medium rare. It was pre-sliced and arranged beautifully on the plate. I am incredibly full and very well satiated. This time there was plenty of seating inside as well as outside as the ambience was quiet and very tranquil. Located in the Flowerhill plaza is this healthy, beautiful, and spacious restaurant. I hosted a brunch for my MeetUp Fun Diego Ladies this past Sunday. There were 11 of us and we all loved the food here! I ordered the vegetable chopped salad and loved it! I forgot to ask for dressing on the side, but was very pleased that they added just the right amount. The light and citrus vinaigrette was very refreshing. I really appreciate how all of the veggies were very fresh. My only negative feedback was the cucumber skin was a bit bitter. Service was quick and friendly.
