Beautiful inside, all new and very much not like rundown establishments throughout FXBG. I purchased the hash brown and ham pastry and the Lemmon blueberry pastry. I also used a coupon for a coffee. Total $10 dollars. Everything was just fine. Unfortunately, I went by at 6 AM. All the staff hold the best parking spots. Seriously, if you want people to visit make it easy for them in this ugly car centric strip mall. All the spots closest to the store should be for customer turnover. I ordered a honey milk tea, and when it arrived it was significantly underfilled. There was a large amount of empty space left in the cup, making it clear that I did not receive a full portion. This wasn't a case of the drink settling or ice melting--it was simply not filled to the level you would reasonably expect. What makes this even more disappointing is that the drinks advertised on the restaurant's website are shown as full portions. As a customer, I expect the product I receive to reasonably match what is being advertised. Receiving a noticeably underfilled drink for full price feels misleading and poor value. I'm sharing this review because I hope the restaurant addresses its portion consistency. Customers should receive the full serving they're paying for, especially when the restaurant's own marketing sets that expectation. My family ordered an assortment of food--we enjoyed the banh mi (B1 and B2), pho (PN1), barbecue pork buns, and bubble tea drinks (D3, S10, V2, M1). The establishment was very clean and the employees were kind and helpful. The banh mi I ordered was delicious and I would definitely order it again, if I lived closer lol. While there were individual packets for the hoisin sauce and sriracha, I think it would be nice if the restaurant offered some full size bottles for the these condiments, more napkins, and a water station for guests. This place is so good I want to gate-keep it, but I won't. Since it's a chain, I initially didn't go in with high expectations, but was very pleasantly surprised! Absolutely phenomenal prices, cute interior, fast and friendly service, and clean space! While living in Fredericksburg, I came here at least once a week! After trying most of their menu, here are my recommendations: 1) get the banh mi! It's so full of flavor, delicious pickled veggies, packed with meats and absolutely huge for the price! One sandwich would easily last me two full meals! (my favs are the grilled pork and the pate jambon) 2) the pho was okay. Compared to family-owned Vietnamese restaurants, it lacked flavor and authenticity, but still a good option if you're craving soup (the portion is massive) 3) the croissant sandwiches are yummy and a cool twist on the og banh mis, so definitely worth a try, but I will say they're smaller than the banh mi, so for the value I'd go with the banh mi! 4) bubble tea is overpriced imo, but still very delicious! They also have cool flavors that you won't find in other bubble tea shops, so definitely worth a try. (The Vietnamese iced coffee is STRONG here) 5) Korean corn dogs: way too expensive for the size, but delicious, and considering no other place around sells these, it's worth a try! Overall I miss living close to this place and would move back to Fredericksburg just to have access to it. Honestly I was shock that there's a Banh Mi place in Fredericksburg. What's more shocking is that it's actually pretty good. So we drove to this cafe, next to Wawa and First Watch in Central Park off Plank Rd (Rt. 3). Theres limited parking but manageable. You won't be able to make just one or two choices, so come hungry. We ordered 8 items: 1) Pate jambon 2) Special combination 3-4) Lotus leaf bao buns with 2 flavors 5) Steamed bao bun 6) Steak pho 7) Pandan bubble waffle 8) Honeydew slushie. Both banh mi were delicious, the bread was fresh, crispy and you won't be able to just take one bite. The bao buns were on point. They offer 5 flavors, I selected 2 - pork bbq and grilled pork. The freshness of the ingredients incorporated with bao buns brings a unique flavor combination. The steamed bao bun which I prefer with the Mongolian beef. It was very good and full of flavor. They offer pho with 3 variety of protein. I selected the steak. The broth itself was filled with umami and richness. It has generous portions of rice noodles, protein and served with the essential condiments. For dessert, I ordered the pandan bubble waffle. It was light, airy and delicious. Next time, I'll order it with the variety of dipping sauces. The honeydew slushie was delicious and refreshing. This little restaurant is so adorable! I absolutely love the little "Instagram worthy" spots where you can get an epic selfie! When we walked in and headed to the register where we would order, there was also a large counter where the end of the line would be had more people been in the restaurant. This counter was full of pre packaged with baked goods! We got a spinach and cheese pastry, which we didn't love, and two Madeline's, which were phenomenal! The Madeline's were so big and soft and cakes (swoon). I actually ate those the next day with a cup of coffee and a cup of tea! Back to the lunch. I had to ask a few questions because I didn't really know what a "half and half" corndog was.fyi it's half a hotdog inside, and in top of the half hot dog, on the top haggling of the stick is just mozzarella. I thought it was fantastic! I got the corndogs with chopped up French fries in the batter and I got it half and half style. IT WAS SO GOOD!! Fredericksburg has a banh mi place! I was so excited to try them. I got the banh mi dac biet, which in my opinion, is the best kind of banh mi. It has cold cut ham, pork, chicken liver pate, Vietnamese mayo, pickled radish and carrots, fresh cucumber, cilantro, and fresh jalapeño peppers.
