My experience with Marie at Paris Connections was entirely made out of a movie! As you read this, you may even have a hard time believing this happened because I am still in disbelief. My dream wedding dress on Pinterest came from an early 2000s TV show called Will and Grace. I wanted something identical, but I knew that was a long shot! I took the screenshot on Google so that I could find similar designs, which led me straight to Marie's website! I messaged her asking if the dress was still available and she responded within 10 minutes, saying yes. I purchased the dress online that same moment, without even seeing it in person or trying it on. The dress was also on sale for an insane deal so it was worth the gamble for me. I trusted my gut that her description of the dress was accurate and honest as she said it was beautiful made of duchesse silk and in good condition. I am based in East Bay, but what was even more of a coincidence is that Marie is in SF! She called me after I purchased and generously offered to ship the dress for me, but after speaking with her on the phone I could tell she was such a sweet, personable sweetheart and I wanted to experience the dress reveal with her! I went to San Francisco the same day, as she waited for me towards closing and when I saw the dress in person, we discovered it was the IDENTICAL DRESS FROM MY PINTEREST board, down to every stitch! I was never able to actually go inside the salon for an appointment, but I did call the salon to book an appointment. The call was handled directly by the store owner Marie, and she asked when is my wedding (pretty standard question). Once I told her the date of my wedding, Marie immediately made a multitude of excuses why I should not come in her salon for an appointment "wedding date is too far" / "should go look at larger salons before coming to her" / "[she] only carries one designer, so [I] should look around elsewhere". I totally understand that she may not want to waste time on a bride that might not be serious in buying a dress, but I knew exactly which dress that I wanted to buy. When I had informed her of this, she immediately told me that she does not currently have that dress, or my second pick in stock, and that she would not book my appointment. Though I was bummed out, I told her that I completely understand. Although, it would have been nice if she could at least offer dress options that I could try on that may be similar or lend well to the style that I am looking for. Anyways, for the real reason why I am giving only one star. After telling me that she would not book an appointment for me, a week later, she starts calling me multiple times and leaving me multiple text messages complaining about how I did not show up to my scheduled appointment time and had wasted her time. I didn't pick up my phone because I was in meetings, so I received several voicemails of Marie essentially harassing me about not showing up for an appointment that she had refused me in the first place. This is going to be a long one so bare with me. I got engaged Christmas Eve of 2019. We literally set a date to be married June 27th, 2020. So January 8th I went and looked at dresses and the first dress I liked was a Justin Alexander gown. It was the store model but it fit me like a glove! However, I had another appointment at a different bridal salon and had to go or I would be charged for not. So I went and tried on some more dresses and thought I really loved one of them I tried on. Instead of waiting a day to decide I bought it. That night I went home and cried because I knew in my heart I should of bought the Justin Alexander gown instead!! Well a week later I found out I was pregnant, and we still wanted to have our wedding in June but because of the dress I bought their was no way it would fit a 6 month belly bump. So I called the bridal shop and begged them to let me cancel that dress and to purchase a ball gown instead. Well, they wouldn't let me cancel so I had to buy that dress and a different one to fit me at my wedding with my sweet little bump. Of course a ball gown was never an option for a dress I wanted but at this point I was just thankful I had a healthy baby girl growing inside me as this was my rainbow baby. So April came around and Covid hit and my bridal shower and wedding had to be canceled. At this point you can only see my frustration. I now had two wedding dresses that I did not want to wear at my wedding if I wasn't going to be getting married pregnant. I hate that I bought two dresses that I felt in my heart that I wasn't going to wear. I'm far from a high maintenance person or spoiled, and when I had told people my feelings they made me feel that way and told me to settle with one of the dresses. But for months I couldn't get the JA dress out of my head and I kept going back to pictures and videos of it and just loved everything about it including my face in it! Well November came around and I was shopping by the bridal place I tried the JA dress on so I went in, and asked if they still had it. Unfortunately they had just sold it and to make matters worst told me it had been discontinued. I refused to give up! I looked on Instagram and Facebook for hashtags of JA and emailed bridal places that carried JA. I even emailed JA and they had sent me all the places who had purchase that dress for a model dress in store. I then emailed all the places in California, Nevada, Texas, and just surrounding states. I had received many emails back from places that either had a size 12-14 or didn't have it at all. But when I received an email from Marie at Paris Connections. Everything changed. She contacted JA and after a weeks wait was able to get the dress brought back into production to be made for me!! It was a huge Hail Mary but Marie did it! She went above and beyond to make my dreams come true of wearing the most beautiful dress on my wedding day next September! God truly blessed me by putting this amazing women in my life! My MOH was in town for the weekend and this was our last stop. We actually got there without an appointment, but Marie was able to fit me in within an hour after I called. The boutique: very cute! There isn't a huge selection and I honestly loved it that way. A lot of other stores have an overwhelming amount of dresses, but Marie only carries Justin Alexander lines so it makes it less crazy in the store. She has a wide variety of dresses that are very reasonable in price, with a few sample size dresses. There is only one dressing room and a few chairs outside, so be mindful not to bring more than 2 or 3 people. I did not end up getting my dress here, but two of the three dresses I did try on looked lovely on me. This review is not of the dresses, but for Marie. She was amazing; she listened to me and what I was looking for in a dress. I didn't feel rushed to try on dresses nor pressured to buy a dress. To top it all off, she was completely honest with not only her prices but also her opinions. If something didn't look right, she expressed it and I really appreciated that. She has 25+ years of experience so if anyone knows their stuff, it would be Marie! She reminded me of my aunt and had such a homey feeling about her. Marie provided a terrible dress shopping experience. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. I tried on dresses at Paris Connection Bridal in what seemed like a storage closet that doubled as a dressing room. It had a see-through curtain that didn't really provide any privacy--luckily businesses were under COVID-19 precautions and I was the only person there for the appointment. I found a few dresses I liked so Marie took my measurements, told me what size I'd be, and jotted down the dress model numbers so I could take a day to decide. The next day, I called back to confirm which one I chose to go with, and we went through with processing the order over the phone. When I went to pick up the dress, it turns out Marie took my measurements incorrectly, and the dress that was ordered was too small. Instead of being apologetic, both Marie and the seamstress she had in house played it off as it looked fine and said it would loosen up over time since it's brand new. Marie also made a comment that brides tend to lose a few pounds before the wedding so I just needed to do that and it'll work out in the end (um..okay thanks?). SF was also going through a heat wave at the time (with no AC) so I thought maybe I was more bloated during that time. Anyways, I relented and took the dress home. Tried the dress at home on a cooler day and it was still super tight. I checked the sizing chart online and saw that the correct size for me was the next size up and so I requested to exchange it. Instead of acknowledging her mistake, Marie had the nerve to say that we were both responsible here and that I shouldn't have taken the dress home then. Because of that, she only offered to pay for half the restocking fee of $100. Because of her measuring mistake, I had to pay more, go back to the boutique two additional times, and wait longer for my dress to come in. When I went to return the first dress, she made the comment, "glad you came on time, I have somewhere to be" as if I was inconveniencing her instead of the other way around. When I went back the last time to pick up the correctly sized dress, she seemed to be in a rush again and barged into the fitting room as soon I took off the dress. I was not done changing yet nor did she ask if I was comfortable with her coming in (I was not). Long story short, don't come here. There are plenty of other bridal shops in the Bay Area that genuinely care about their customers. Marie/ Paris Connection Bridal is not one of them. read more

Also, she usually has some samples from previous seasons which she sells off the rack for very cheap prices ($500 to $750 for the ones I saw). She always asks you for a price range and stick to it. You can find lots of beautiful dresses for less than $1,500, even under $1,000. Service - Prompt. I found my dress on 1st appointment. It helps I went to her website and printed out exactly what I liked. She gave great feedback on what I looked good in and not. Quality - She's got lots of different types of dresses in different materials. I think her suite in the Jewelry Mart is 2065. It's not listed on her website. You have to make an appointment and register at the front desk before walking in. 6pm appointments during the week doesn't require registrations. Also, she sells lots of jewelry, intimate wear, etc. Very French and affordable and absolutely beautiful. They actually had my dress in stock so I got it in 1 month. Before today, I'd never felt inspired to write a Yelp review....but after my experience with Marie at Paris Connection, I could no longer contain myself. In a good way. I'd been on the prowl for the perfect wedding dress for about a month (30 days to some, an eternity for my OCD self) and was becoming bored and discouraged by all the "traditional" gowns popping up on my browser. That is, until I came across the Paris Connection, via Yelp. Reading others' positive reviews and taking a tour of Marie's website convinced me that this boutique just may have that je ne sais quoi I'd become obsessed with finding. I knew after my first phone conversation with Marie that I'd be in good, stylish hands. I popped into Paris Connection on a Wednesday evening, and was immediately enamored with the gowns that were on full-frontal display on the mannequins. Marie and I hit it off from the start, and before I knew it, we were both boisterously choosing gowns that would fit my personality and body shape to a T (all while listening to Joy Division, Madonna, and some unknown Brazilian band in the background). Marie was aware of the my budget constraints, and assured me that she'd do everything in her power to find me the most exquisite dress at the best price. After choosing approximately 7 gorgeous, beaded, vintage-flair gowns, I made my way into the dressing room and about died as soon as I slipped on the first dress. It was perfect. Marie guided me onto the pedestal in the middle of the boutique and raved over how slammin' this dress made my body look (and I agreed). That's the thing about Marie: she gives honest opinions, good or bad. Long story short, I ended up falling in love with the most ornate, unique Justin Alexander gown. I didn't want to take it off! Marie also helped me try on various hair ornaments (which were amazing!) and browse her shoe catalogue. This place has so much to offer! I decided to place an order for the gown, on the spot. And as promised, Marie gave me a great deal. I had the best experience with Marie at Paris Connection Bridal. It began with a phone call to book my appointment. Marie asked for my wedding date, what type of dress style I had in mind, and even offered suggestions. The shop is small and on the second floor of a building in SOMA. There's plenty of metered parking that offered a max time of 4 hours. It was really convenient. Marie's shop is small but packed with beautiful dresses. I came with my two best friends. She already had a background of the type of dress I was interested in and helped me pull options, she also welcomed my friends to find dresses. It was a very comfortable and fun experience. Altogether, we had about 10 dresses in the fitting room. Marie helped me into the dresses. They were all gorgeous. She had a great selection. Throughout she gave her input on the styles and even the prices. Marie was never pushy and she constantly asked for my and my friend's opinions. My friends even gathered more dresses. Marie was very patient and helped me into every one. Unfortunately I didn't get my dress here. I tried on about 12 dresses, liked 4, loved 2, and ALMOST picked 1. But don't let that stop you from visiting Marie at Paris Connection Bridal. This experience was amazing and I feel that I have a better grasp of my style with her guidance and support. I absolutely love going to Paris Connection for bridal shopping. I discovered this place as I search for bridal places for my girlfriend and my sister who were both engaged to their men. I have been to other places but what make this place unique is the single undivided attention of Marie and her location!! I like that Marie gives you honest opinion as she weighs in how you feel about the dress. She's there to focus on your likes without sales agenda. I love that it's single appointment so there are no other brides to be. It's your own private time with your friend(s) or family. Also, prices were very reasonable with some exclusive designers. I also love the location as the building has big windows for natural lighting unlike other places with fluorescent lighting which has an impact on colors and photography. It's important to know the real color of your potential dress in its natural lighting: I love taking pretty photos (not a professional), and I'm learning lighting is very critical component. I thinking around 3ish pm, the lighting in that room is interesting to explore with shadows for photo. It's was a very fun experience, and I recommend this place! Marie is fantastic. The salon may be smaller than other big box bridal salons, but it has a very "specialty boutique" feel. And it should. Marie was charming, informative, and beyond helpful. She provides more than just gorgeous wedding dresses, she provides the whole experience of being a bride and feeling glamorous when trying on gowns. I would agree that the selection is limited in the salon, but if you have a dress in mind call ahead and she will tell you if she can get it for you. She has dresses that are reasonably priced and was able to get my tea length Justin Alexander dress for me even though i couldn't find it anywhere else and it was from several seasons ago. I think Marie does whatever it takes to make sure a bride gets her gown and I truly appreciate all of the effort she put in. The salon also carries several veils, shoes, jewelery, purses, and hair accessories. I was offered a packaged deal because I got everything through Marie. Now my future sister-in-law is getting married and she is also going to Marie because she was with me when I went to get my dress from her. I'm telling you to give this place a try.
