I only came here because a friend knew Grace and I honestly felt like a bit obligated mostly because I just didn't think I would find anything but I'm so glad I dragged myself to come anyway. I think I had already tried on over 100 dresses, and sort of had an idea of what I wanted, but I hated myself in most of them and I didn't understand that magical moment of OMG (say yes to the dress anyone?) there were no tears except tears of disappointment for the most part. So basically my expectation for this hour and appointment was that we would just do the song and dance and I'd move on with my life. I grabbed maybe 3 things, and one was a ballgown, but like I didn't even think I would like them. I told Shonna what I was looking for (I was actually looking for two dresses) - and right before we went into the fitting room to try on the 3, I touched a fun texture bodycon hugging dress that I could NEVER see myself in and she encouraged me to try it anyway because I loved the material so much. Let's just say, I fell in love with two dresses, went to another bridal shop, could NOT stop thinking about the two, and called them back to buy same day. I have to tell you - there is absolutely no one, and I mean no one, better in this business than Shonna at Bridal Galeria and Off the Rack bride. She is an absolute dream. Run don't walk to make an appointment! As a 2025 bride with a lot of ideas and desires (and anxieties!) Shonna helped streamline my process and found me the perfect dress. When I say she literally chose it for me I'm not kidding. The thing had no hanger appeal - and I was like sure, I'll try it when Shonna suggested it. I put it on and started crying. It turned out to be a vintage (00s/90s?) Carolina Herrera dress (they don't even make wedding gowns anymore) and I got it at 75 percent off. It was kismet. I had always been a Carolina Herrera fan (since I was a little girl and saw photos of her daughter's wedding in Vanity Fair) and Shonna brought that all back for me. She was so incredibly kind and thoughtful throughout the process and really helped me getting everything just right for the big day. She went above and beyond. She really goes to bat for her brides. An absolutely terrific experience and total success at off the rack bride! Found my perfect dress, which was in my size and fit me like a glove and since it was a sample, there was no need to wait the 4-6 months that other dress shops told me I had to in order to get my dress. I just purchased it and brought home my dress same day. Grace who is the owner and who has decades of experience in the business made me feel so comfortable and had so much great guidance and advice. I completely trusted her judgement and did not go wrong. Not only did I purchase a dress, she also custom ordered me a veil in the same shade. My search actually started next store at Bridal Galleria 5 months ago, which is the sister store to Off the Rack, by the same owner. When I started my dress search, the #1 go to spot for me was Bridal Galleria based on all the good word of mouth and recommendations by friends. My first time trying on dresses, I didn't really know what I wanted and didn't have the venue set yet so it was hard to decide but the experience was totally 5 stars. I didn't know how lucky I was that this store had dresses in my size. Since then I went to dozens of dress shops in SF, Chicago, LA, and NYC, but almost none gave me the same experience and none had any dresses in stock that were actually in my size. I went to Kleinfelds in NYC twice and the experience was a total disaster each time. I was finally able to see my venue for the first time last week and felt I was able to make a decision but unfortunately all the dress shops told me the wait for a dress was 4-6 months at minimum and my wedding is exactly 5 months away. Today I thought I would try my luck with bridal galleria/off the rack once more and lo and behold, my perfect dress was waiting there for me. This is a style that I really loved when watching say yes to the dress many years ago but I couldn't find anywhere else, but luckily this place had it and did I mention in my exact size too! And since it was a sample it was discounted also to my luck! I've given my review a lot of thought but I've finally mustered it up on me to give my honest opinion about this shop. I needed a dress pretty quickly and that was my mistake of letting them know that. First of all, I felt that the practices in here were dishonest. For reference I am a size 0, but I was sold a size EIGHT dress. They told me it's fine, bridal dresses have different sizing. It was dumb of me to listen but I did because they promised high and low that after alterations it would be perfect. Well guess what. It was FAR from perfect. It was so bad, I had to buy a whole different dress. I had invested $2000+ on a dress that was never perfect to begin with. Here's the thing - the day I was trying out the dress there was some hesitation in me. I should have trusted it. But the ladies in here were SO pushy, I rolled with it. On top of that, their dresses are all final sale. When you ask them to hold the dress for you, they say things like "I don't know if the minute you leave, someone might call me to buy this dress." So anyway, long story short - I do not recommend this place. At all. Save yourself the grief and sorrow. If you find the dress - great. But the combination of final sale + pushy tactics is not a good one. read more

This is *the* place to go for an amazing wedding dress. I was feeling a bit stressed about our timeline (7 months out, which I hear can be a stretch) and started hitting the circuit with lackluster results. Nothing really gave me that "wow" feeling I was looking for. Even the dress fitting experiences themselves at other places felt stressful because the appointments always felt rushed/hard to get and I felt pressured to fall in love with something. I still had my eye on some more couture gowns I had seen online but thought they were just way too out of my price range. Enter... Off the Rack Bride. Seriously, this place is amazing. The staff was super helpful and the more low key (no appointment) vibe of this place just felt more welcoming. I tried on several Berta dresses that I fell in love with that all basically fit me like a glove and ended up walking away, same day, with a gorgeous Berta at 50% off. Can't recommend this place enough. It is not cheesy or cheap as the 'off the rack' name might imply. There are really amazing, beautiful dresses in perfect shape that you can take home today at a fraction of the cost. What seemed unattainable became attainable. This place was seriously the worst experience I've had while wedding dress shopping. Picking out the styles went well but everything after was terrible. They did not even have proper clips to secure the dress to me. After trying on each dress, I would point out what I like or dislike (which is what a bride should do as part of the elimination process to find THE dress). And after each dislike from me, she would do one of two things. One of the things she would do is try to sell the dress to me (you can add a long veil if you want a train, you can alter this...). This is standard and I can ignore this. But the other comments she made were downright insulting. She would say the undergarments "make the dress look weird". No, lady. The dress is poorly made! (You can easily see the quality of dresses when it's photographed.) This one dress I tried on had sparkly fabric and my friend helped me take photos of it on my phone. I was just making a comment at how the sparkles didn't show well in the pictures. I don't know why she felt the need to take it personally but she chimed in with, "It's the quality of your phone." Wow, it's the latest model...so no. Wrong again, lady. Why not make a comment at how bad the lighting is in the shop? If you found your dress here, congratulations. But customer service is everything to me and this place needs to hire people who actually love what they do and genuinely want to help the customers find their dress. read more

AMAZING!! Laura helped me say Yes to the dress today!! Like many brides, I have fantasies of wearing a dreamy couture designer hand made luxurious dress on my wedding day. Since this is my second wedding, my fiancé and I are paying for it rather than my parents. So, we want to spend less on the wedding so we can have a bigger down payment on our home. Originally I planned on hunting for a designer gown online and was going to try on similar style dresses in person. I knew I would give up the Special feeling brides get when they try on "THE ONE!" Thank you Bridal Galleria and their Off The Rack Bridal for allowing me the opportunity to purchase designer dresses such as Monique Lhuillier, Lazaro and the Inbal Dror gown I purchased without sacrificing that Special Experience of finding your dress. Laura was such a wonderful bridal associate. The best I've worked with in the 6-7 fittings I've been on so far! (I shouldn't publicly bash another Sample Bridal shop on Columbus St that told me I wasn't allowed to try on gowns 45 minutes before they closed. Not to mention getting scolded for pulling the dress hanger out of a rack she said she was preparing for closing or making another bride feel bad she dragged the dress train on the floor...hmm) Laura was patient and honest without being pushy or rushing. At first I had my mind set on a bedazzled over the top big puffy princess ballgown but Laura encouraged me to try on a modern figure hugging dress. Given I'm a five foot tall mom, I was hesitant to go outside the dressing room where other people can see me. However as soon as I stepped in front of their showroom mirror, I knew it was the one. Compliments from another bride's grandma and mother gave me the reassurance to go with it even if it wasn't the style I envisioned. Laura also gave comments and suggestions for simple alterations to further enhance the dress to suit my figure and personality. Veils look all the same to me and since I never could justify paying over $100 for one, I originally was just going to buy one off EBay. Laura had me try on the matching veil just for a look, no pressure. Haha I couldn't resist, I bought that veil too no questions asked. I came here after a work meeting last Tuesday right before they closed just to browse and compare to online dresses. The dresses were so beautiful, I knew I had to come back. I'm glad I did! Haily at Off the Rack Bride is a miracle worker. After 6 failed appointments at other salons, I had pretty much given up hope of finding my dream dress. "We're going to find your dress today", she said and she was right. To be clear, she's the one that found it - and I'm so glad she did! She made what was a mostly miserable experience up until then, a really fun, joyous, and relaxed 90 minutes. Once I put on the dream dress - an amazing designer gown 75% off!, she spent over an hour helping me face-time my family, show me potential alterations, and pick out extra lace to use for alterations. I am a very young bride and I've been to a bridal store only once before coming here. This was the worst experience EVER. I don't have the body of a model, still I accept myself the way I am. The lady who assisted me had the gut to tell straight to my face that I am bloated and that I should change my diet. Maybe you just gave me a too small dress?! I was shocked when she told me these words. I mean, yes I have a belly but you cannot tell a bride-to-be that she should change her lifestyle for a dress. Also, just because I was young, alone and with a fairly reasonable budget, she even asked me if I was "seriously" looking to buy a dress. Of course I am, otherwise why would I bother to come here? Unbelievable. People like that should never do this job. Somebody may take these comments very seriously and really try to change their appearance when there is nothing wrong.
