I can't recommend Lace & Liberty enough--especially for petite brides or anyone outside standard sizing. At 4'11", I knew a traditional gown would require major alterations and still might not look proportional. Lace & Liberty completely eliminated that concern by customizing my dress to my exact measurements. My appointment with Nancy was private, relaxed, and felt very personal. She guided me through several beautiful styles, and the quality of the dresses is outstanding--especially for how affordable they are. I ordered my dress in December, received it in June, completed minor alterations and bustling with their recommended tailor (And Something Blue) in July, and had my wedding in September. The entire process was seamless from start to finish. Best of all, my dress was so comfortable that I stayed in it all night--even on the dance floor. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

If I could give this spot 10 stars I would! I first came into Lace & Liberty in June after going to a few other SF dress shops. I am not someone who always had a vision of my wedding dress in mind, but Nancy was so accommodating and helped make sure I was getting to try a variety of different styles before deciding. I ultimately found the perfect wedding dress here, and the price was extremely reasonable for the amount of customization and the fabrics used. This shop offers made-to-measure dresses, which meant that when I got to my first fitting, the dress was already so STUNNING and fit perfectly. My wedding is not until next year, but if you're a bride looking for your wedding dress, I cannot recommend Lace & Liberty enough. From the first try-on experience to seeing the final product, I was extremely pleased with them. Can't wait to show it off on my big day!

Lace & Liberty helped me find the wedding dress of my dreams! Ali was extremely kind and helped me narrow down options based on my limited knowledge of wedding dresses. She made the whole experience calm and relaxing. Once I found "the one", Lace & Liberty was able to provide free customized to my dress because they make them each by hand. I loved getting photo updates along the way. For any bride in SF searching for your dress, you must go to Lace & Liberty!

1st, Nancy from L&L is phenomenal. She took my design and brought it to life. My dress is absolutely gorgeous and more beautiful in person. The beaded detail is everything. I cant wait to walk down the aisle in this 1 of a kind masterpiece. Well done well done.

I went here for my first dress fitting and it was so incredibly pleasant. I personally at first felt overwhelmed with the number of options there are but the designer gave me time to process and look around. They make everything in house & alter it according to your desires. The value is insane and ranges from 1-4k which is amazing for what you get. Each dress I put on was extremely flattering.

Nancy takes the best care for all your custom gown needs! I went to Lace and Liberty knowing that I needed a wedding dress but had no idea that she could make my wedding dress dreams come true! She's kind, honest, professional, friendly, and transparent about every step of the process. Purchasing a wedding dress is so important and Nancy makes this process so effortless. Look no further than Lace and Liberty for your most important day!

Initially, I was very unsure about getting a custom dress. I hadn't tried on any dresses, but had a very clear vision of what I wanted and knew I'd have a difficult time finding exactly what I was looking for. I was also nervous about cost, since wedding dresses in general can be very expensive, so I couldn't imagine custom would be in my budget (I was able to spread out payments which helped a lot). I'd kept seeing adds for Lace & Liberty on my social media feeds so I stalked their IG and read lots of reviews, so decided to reach out for the free web call consultation to see if it was for me. I got to work with the designer Ali and she completely got me and what I was going for. After the consultation I went in to the boutique to feel fabrics and try on a few styles so we could nail down all the various elements. From our conversations and reference photos, Ali sketched out my dress!! We were able to work easily over email to finalize details, including deciding on the final lace after she sourced some different options for me. From there I went in for measurements based on the final design and then all I had to do was wait... I could not be more thrilled for how my dress came out!! It's soooo comfortable (which was a big thing I was concerned about) and it fits perfectly...I did not want to take it off! I'm obsessed!! Note- I asked that it be created as a separate top and skirt and also the skirt has POCKETS!! I definitely recommend Lace & Liberty to create your perfect dress (or pant suit). This was such an fantastic and easy experience and I truly recommend it to everyone. Thank you so much, Ali and team for bringing my dream wedding dress to life. I want to wear it every day forever. It is better than I could even imagine and I'm so grateful it's all mine *Nancy, the other designer, was also so sweet and helpful when I went it to try on and pick up my dress.

Working with Lace & Liberty was the absolute highlight of our wedding planning experience. During my first call with Rozie, I had a vague idea of what I wanted (a dress that symbolized the ocean) but no clue about cut, design, fabric, or anything else. By the time I finished my first appointment in their beautiful little studio, we'd been able to narrow down everything to the last detail, even pockets! Rozie sourced the most beautiful colors for my gown, gave her expert input on number of layers and materials, and made suggestions I hadn't even thought of. Danielle and Joy followed up constantly to make sure I was aligned with the work being done and that I was happy, they checked in with me personally to see how I was feeling, and paid extra special attention to what I may or may not need or want in terms of extras. They made me feel like an absolute princess. And the end result was truly the dress of my dreams. I cannot recommend Lace & Liberty enough for any bride-to-be ~ I didn't have an unlimited budget, but Rozie made sure to address it with me in our first call, stressing that she aimed to come in below cost (which she did!) Every time I put my dress on, I feel the love and care that went into its creation, and I remember how special these wonderful women made me feel. I feel so lucky to have found them ~ I can honestly say my wedding day wouldn't have been as wonderful as it was without them. I hope my review convinces at least one person to set up an appointment, because your wedding is a (hopefully!) once-in-a-lifetime event ~ you deserve to feel unique and precious in whatever you wear. I can assure you, Rozie and her team will give you that experience.

I was so happy I chose Lace & Liberty for my wedding dress. I initially found a dress I liked at a different bridal salon, but there were two problems: it cost more than I wanted to spend, and I wanted a couple customizations that they weren't willing to make. I heard about Lace & Liberty from my cousin, who had a great experience getting her dress from them, and reached out for a consultation and a quote. Ali was my designer, and she made the process so easy and made sure I got exactly what I wanted. She was able to replicate the dress I had liked, but with the customizations I wanted, and within my price range.

    Cam R.

Rozie and everyone at Lace & Liberty were incredible through the process of selecting my dress, custom changes, and overall just so supportive of my wedding dress needs! I can't recommend this place enough. I had a narrow vision of what I wanted for my big day -- unconventional, two piece, pink. Rozie had designed something that was very different from what I imagined, but she gently encouraged me to try it on. I couldn't believe it. This dress was perfect for me, and her expert eye could see it before I could! A few changes to the design (make it PINK!) and I was in love all over again. Since my wedding in September, every friend or family member that I've seen has not stopped commenting on how uniquely beautiful my dress was. I am so thankful for all of Rozie's support in designing the dress that I would wear on the happiest day of my life.

I don't think the person whos doing alterations there is still there so perhaps this review is quickly outdated, but I would say there's definitely not the kind of attention to detail I would have appreciated being at this price point and for this kind of thing where attention to detail for wedding dresses is so important. She was such a sweetheart, and when I returned for my appointment, had the two dresses I'd requested pulled, as well as a few others of the similar style. Although I didn't have a group with me, Seneca was incredibly patient and supportive while I mulled over the dresses, and hyped me up to fall in love with my original vision. Some of the sample dresses being sold are quite affordable for the budget conscious bride which was a huge plus! Additionally, I've seen fantastic reviews about their in house alterations. I'm beyond grateful that I didn't. If you are looking for a personable, intentional, and truly exclusive experience full of unique dresses, this is the place to go. Marina curates every single dress in her shop herself, and it shows. She knows exactly what she has and listens to what you're looking for. My favorite part of working with Marina is that she wastes no time. We had a detailed consultation and went straight into trying on dresses. She guided the process so effortlessly--pulling styles, letting me react, and identifying what I liked and didn't like about each dress. Every minute felt purposeful. She could tell right away if I wasn't in love with the dress and she narrowed it down with each try. We got closer and closer until we found the one! The dress was completely unexpected and not at all what I thought I wanted. It was straight off the runway, and somehow--with Marina's magic touch--I squeezed into a size 00. When I walked out of the dressing room, I knew immediately. There was no doubt. That moment alone was worth everything. I bought the dress that day. Marina took my measurements on the spot, and it arrived months ahead of my destination wedding. Throughout the process, she emailed me updates and checked in, which gave me so much peace of mind. I ultimately ended up getting my veil there as well because I trusted her eye completely. What truly sets Marina apart is the value she provides beyond the dress itself--her expertise, efficiency, and her care. You're not just paying for a gown; you're investing in confidence, clarity, and an experience that saves you time, stress, and second-guessing. Marina made the entire process stress-free, efficient, and genuinely special. I felt seen, supported, and taken care of in ways that other shops didn't. I am incredibly grateful for her and cannot recommend Bridal Breeze enough. Thank you Marina!! You've helped me in so many more ways than you know.

The following months, however, were filled with uncertainty and confusion about when my dress would arrive. With an estimated delivery timeline of 4-6 months, I initially tried not to worry. In December, I was informed that my gown was in the final stages of production, and I paid the remaining balance. As March approached, my family and friends began to grow concerned alongside me. While the responses to my calls and emails were reassuring, it became increasingly difficult not to feel anxious as the wedding date drew closer and our energy and attention needed to be focused on other aspects of wedding planning. We were told that the delays originated with the designer. This is understandably not in their control, but more proactive communication and transparency about the situation earlier in the process would have been appreciated. Ultimately, the dress shipped at the end of April and arrived in early May. Despite this experience, I am still giving Janene's Bridal Alameda 4 stars because of the kind and responsive staff. The alterations team did an excellent job with only about 2 weeks to work with, and every staff member was pleasant. I especially appreciated Jessica, Tiffany, and Mary Ann for being so accommodating, patient, and supportive throughout the process. At one point, I left an item there and the team were very communicative about searching for and locating the item until my return. Most importantly, the business went above and beyond to compensate me for the inconvenience and stress of receiving my dress so close to my wedding date. After everything that happened, I was hesitant to have my alterations done at Janene's, but the team ultimately turned the experience around and made it a positive one. Their excellent customer service and dedication helped make up for the stressful situation. Thank you for making things right and for taking such great care of my wedding dress.

Seriously I am so overjoyed and cannot wait to wear my dress at my upcoming wedding!! I was introduced to her by a friend who bought 3 wedding dresses from her and I was floored to see how beautiful and quality they were without costing an arm and a leg and 2 Bay Area mortgages. It was a no-brainer for me to contact Judy! Overall Thought: Judy is very professional from beginning to end. Booking an appointment was easy. When I got to her studio, she was very friendly in greeting me yet very efficient, clear, and honest in asking about my vision, budget, timeline, and how we can make that happen together. After the initial visit, she was very responsive via email, and I was never left unsure about what the next step was. A super great bonus is that she is very supportive and encouraging in discussing my ideas for the dress and coming up with the design. I cannot emphasize enough how positive she made me feel throughout the design process. She was gushing over the different ideas I brought up like a very excited maid of honor! But was also realistic and honest with ideas that she thought would not have worked. Process Details: Judy offers a few different design/manufacturing/budget options, so there's a good chance that she will have something that fits your need and vision. You can get off-the-rack gowns, or pick from an existing design and she'll make a dress to fit you (either Judy's own or certain other designers' designs), or she can help you design a brand new gown from scratch. The last option is what I went with. My design was fairly simple, and she recommended some manufacturing options that could help me stay within budget. This was the perfect solution for me! I wanted a custom design, but another local designer I contacted was out of my budget range even though my design was super simple. I found a few overseas designers/manufacturers who could help create a custom design and ship the final product to me, but I was apprehensive to work with them since they cannot take my measurements, work with me in person during the design process, and provide a final fitting service unless I can make an international trip to see them. Judy was the perfect happy medium that did not compromise on design and quality! We started by having a one hour meeting where she listened to my ideas, reviewed reference photos, showed me fabric swatches, took my measurements, and sketched designs. She then sent a summary email of the design, and we corresponded via email and at a second meeting to make some adjustments until we arrived at a final illustration. Judy was very meticulous in following the details we discussed and the details that I did not have the expertise to request. For example, the types of hooks and zippers used, the linings, and the silicone liners to hold up the top, etc. Nothing was overlooked. My dress turned out even better than I had hoped for, with me having to do almost zero work after we agreed on the design and fabric. I received multiple photos to confirm the final product. And I asked a LOT of questions, all of which she answered with patience. The dress arrived within the expected timeframe, and Judy did a final fitting with me. The hip area was too narrow (which she fixed without a hitch and I came back to pick it up later), but otherwise, the dress fitted like a glove! She even helped me match my dress with the veils and gloves that I bought separately. All in all, I would 10/10 recommend her to any future brides I know! It was not only a successful process but also a genuinely pleasant one!

My first visit was with Emilie, who took a great deal of time asking about my wedding, vibe, vision, etc. - then taking note of what I liked and disliked to make thoughtful "pulls". Aliyah was also sweet and not pushy on my second visit. It was just a little tough that the ones that were the "right" size numerically had been altered (understandably) by the bride that wore it before you. So it becomes sort of an esoteric search and hopefully right find for something that fits both the style and sizing you want - otherwise you're looking at lots of alterations costs tacked on, which frankly to me, felt like I should go for new instead. Ultimately, I just found a dress elsewhere that I couldn't pass up, but Emerald City definitely is worth a look or two.

My appointment was completely private and that was helpful as I had the space and attention to try a lot of different gowns and then revisit the favorites. Cassie was extremely professional and knowledgeable, asking about likes and dislikes with each gown and then suggesting some that turned out to be big hits. I felt like she really listened and heard what I was talking about and was a very calming presence. The salon itself comfortably fit myself and my mom and MIL. One of the best parts in my opinion was the trifold mirror because I could more easily see the backs and sides of dresses, I didn't realize how much this helped until I went somewhere else with just a single small mirror and felt like I couldn't see. The dresses I ended up most interested in fell in the ballpark of $3400. During the week an appointment is free but I think there is a small fee on the weekends. I am a street size 8 and was able to fit into every dress I picked out, some were a little bit of a squeeze and some needed clips but everything was in the standard bridal range 8-12. I loved my experience and it may even be where I come back and purchase my dress! But I cannot recommend this enough for any bride that has an open mind about what they might like.
