I really wanted to support a small, local business. I realllllly did....so much so that we stopped in here versus ordering on Amazon, which is usually my go-to. When you walk in, you're immediately in organized chaos. It isn't bad, but it's a lot in a small space - but, it's a small store and well, that's normal for this kind of family business. We immediately were greeted and asked if we could be helped. We were looking for baseball pants and were led to the appropriate aisle, where there were pants literally piled into storage totes - supposedly organized by size, but that proved to be inaccurate. Mens and boys sizes were mixed together and so were brands. The employee was kind enough to sort through them for us, adding that they've "been meaning to organize the area but just never do" - he gets two stars for never heavy sighing, rolling his eyes, or even seemingly hinting he was aggravated when I requested a second pair. It took him a good 5 minutes to find one pair of pants. I would've liked to have tried on multiple brands, as the first and second pair didn't fit him, but I would've been here an hour while the poor employee sorted through (see photos). Did I mention all of these pants were also full price? It's not like these were not "value" or "used" bins, where you expect to have to hunt for a deal. So, $40 a piece for pants I have to spend 10 minutes on my hands and knees (or wait for an employee to do so) to find? No. No. And some more no. I instead spent $100 on Amazon. $100 may be pennies in the jar, but my kid will be in baseball for the next 10 years - and I won't be shopping here. read more

When shopping for a varsity jacket, we were recommended another shop that had closed. A second recommendation was for Park Athletic and was where I initially called. The man I spoke with on the phone was pleasant, knew his stuff, and despite us coming from a school they don't regularly receive orders for, he made me feel reassured enough that we came in to see what it was all about. We ended up ordering a jacket that day with a down payment and a completely painless process. The final ticket price was about half of what I expected Everybody was friendly and kind and despite the store being in a state of organized chaos, we had no complaints. We received a call about 6 weeks later that the jacket was ready and it came out perfect! We couldn't be happier and have told many folks about our experience here so that they have somewhere to go as an option for their kids. I will say that the store's appearance can be a bit off putting but the service made up for that. read more

Listen, the mom and pop platform really doesn't exist anymore and it truly is disappointing. The cats at PAS are stellar to their customers and I believe they are all related in some way so they radiate the family vibe. I go in there and wrap about music and events going on around Metro Detroit and I don't even feel like I am at a sports store. Whatever you need from a custom, official MLB glove to a mouthpiece they have it for you and it most likely is a product you can't find at Dunhams or Dicks... and probably better. read more

I went to the store on Monday, asking to print only on 5 shirts school logo for my kids, the salesmen Nick "said It will be done by Friday and maybe I can get it done before" so, I called Friday at 4:15 after I picked my kid from daycare and he said " will it's not done man, it's cheap stuff maybe next week!!!" And what made it worse is that after I complained to the owner the whole staff start laughing and he said will it's not done !!!! The worse service ever, I never met someone this unprofessional careless about customer and their business reputations. Shame on you and your low level service. read more

Great prices and good selection. You will pay less but you will wait longer. We were told 6-8 weeks and it took every bit of 8 where places like Kennedy Ice Rink and Gem in Wyandotte turn them around in 3-4. But my daughter got everything she wanted for almost $200 less than a girl on her team whose jacket looks exactly the same. Only difference was the letters weren't outlined in white which she would have liked but that's not worth $200! Also they had more sizes like women's and short jackets so smaller girls don't have to get a giant men's jacket. My 120 lb girl got a Small short and it still has plenty of room to grow into read more

Been going there for years and have always gotten the best service from the store. It is still somewhat family run and is refreshing to see a business operate the "old fashioned way". Personal, knowledgeable, and still competive to other prices and quotes for equipment or jerseys. If the big chain store does not have it, PA will! If they don't have it on hand, they can order it. If the people who run this shop are family, they do not communicate very effectively. I called them for a quote on 36 performance tops for my team. The salesman seemed very knowledgeable and gave me a great price. $16 for each top with our name and logo screened on the front. Only additional costs would be for Adult XL and Adult XXL. These would be $1 and $2 more respectively. Sounded great! Unfortunately it was too good to be true. After I collected the $16 from each of my athletes I placed my order. Five days later, I was sent an email asking if I wanted to move forward with my order, with half of my shirts at $16 and half of my shirts at at $21. This would have been helpful information to have BEFORE I collected money from my athletes. Not five days after placing the order. This put me over budget by $90. Thanks Park Athletic. The excuse: The sales rep that I spoke with gave my order to another sales rep to complete the order (Mom and Pop shop?) and also that the original sales rep claims he only quoted me on youth sizes. The only problem with that is that I specifically asked about adult size pricing and his answer is shown above. This company has some serious communication issues both internally and with their customers. Their solution: Come up with the bonus $90 they chose to add in 5 days after I placed the order or the order will be declined. Decline please, because Park Athletic will never do business with my organization again. read more
