I wasn't sure cycling was for me, it turned out to be one of the best things I have ever done for exercise. Great for knees, ankles, and back. That aside. Giant makes a mediocre bike for a good price. Not great but good enough. The service here at this location almost matches the product. I took the bike back 2 times for shift adjustments, both times the chain measured as expanded, both times no new chain. Both times they did not offer a new chain under the 1 year warranty nor was one offered for any price. The only reason I let it go the first time was to see if they would do it the next time. The second time they made adjustments I just took it elsewhere and gladly paid for what was needed. Bonus: The bike I bought was 1 size too big for me. And I'm 6'2". I assume they had a messed up order and they needed to get a silly sized bike out the door. Enter my inexperienced self to take it at full price. In retrospect I believe the little sales guy positioned the seat on the other properly sized bike incorrectly enough to lean me in the wrong direction. I am sure of it. Why would he put me on one too big at first then the other right sized one after if he wasn't pulling a ruse? Anyway Every trip back to that store revealed more disingenuousness in the little sales guy and the owner. The owner is rude and lacks people skills. High note the most satisfying purchase there was the strap on rear light from a box on the counter. (It's not a front light) Next year I'm fixing this with a bike from specialized most likely. The only half interested in helping people person there was the mechanic in the back, he should be selling stuff not the other guy. I mean it was a little short sighted on his part to do that. I figured it out a month latter and confirmed it at other shops. I have money and a family of kids who need bicycles. Whoops! read more

So glad to find a new bike shop close to my house! Dropped my bike off for a spoke and wheel repair and had it back within a day, despite them having a full load of bikes to service. Staff were friendly and greeted me right away. I will definitely be returning if I need any more service or to upgrade my bike. read more

I visited this store recently and was greeted by a aggressive and rude person. I was asking if I could purchase a part for my sons bike. They insisted that I did not know what I was talking about and that they needed to install the part in order for it to function properly. I happen to know what I am doing. Went back home and ordered it from Amazon. It is sad really. there's not too many good bike shops around and I'm marking this one off my list. read more

Bought a bike there, they are very nice when servicing, a couple times my stuff was fixed for free. One time there was a homeless guy outside with a kid in a stroller on a bench for hours. They sent him a free pizza. These are some good guys. They give the best deals too. read more

My review is entirely based on one shopping experience - nothing more. I know nothing about their level of service, etc. which might be great. What I do know is that most, if not all of the bikes they sell are made in China, but good luck figuring that out. I was trying to find the "made in" sticker on their bike lines and the sales guy told me they peel those stickers off since most people don't want to know their bike was made in China. Might be a great bike shop - I was just a little upset about that practice. read more

2nd time shopping at Roll Models for a bike. 2 completely different purposes, first time was a commuter bike for my son to use at MSU. That was a great experience and feel he got the ideal bike to suit his needs while keeping to my budget. He's been very happy with his Giant hybrid. My purchase last week was for a bike to help me supplement my running after a knee injury. Andy was my salesperson both times. The entire team at Roll Models impressed me with their customer service. I paid a good amount for a Felt AR series bike and know i got a good deal. The team took time to fit me, had me ride the trainer to get comfortable on the bike and made sure everything was perfect on my purchase. Spending money on a quality bike, i was made comfortable knowing that these guys know their stuff and will be there to help me when i need it. I've been there numerous times but never bought a bike. Finally picked up a 2019 Giant "Stance" and love it. Great guys to have look over your bike that "ACTUALLY ride" there knowledge and experience show....now if I can just get my wife to ok me buying her a bike I'll be happy since I'll know I'm getting fantastic customer service. read more

Great bike shop! I've been going there since before they changed their name to Roll Models and I've never been disappointed. The staff is very knowledgable and they're quick to offer help however they can. I've bought 3 or 4 bikes from there, had a custom bike built, and had maintenance performed multiple times. Their prices are competitive and their work is completed when promised. As far as removing "made in" stickers as pointed out by another reviewer? I can't comment on that because I've never paid attention to that as that isn't a key decision maker when I'm looking at a bike. The sad reality is that there aren't a whole lot of US made brands out there. If not being US made is a deal breaker, I suggest you take a close look at your "American made" car. There's a good chance that it wears an American brand badge but was actually made in Mexico or Canada. read more

These guys are super awesome! If you can describe what's wrong with your bike, they can fix it. If you give them a budget, they can recommend upgrades or bikes that fix your personal needs/wants. I never feel pressured to buy anything, never feel like some pompous ass is trying to sell me something I don't need. They're laid back, know what they're talking about, friendly guys. I live in Livonia and will not go anywhere else other than role models. chris and his staff have always been professional and accommodating. they have taken care of all of my bike issues for over 20 yrs of rough mtn biking and now have fitted my daughter with her first 2 bikes. I highly recommend you at least try role models out before you make a decision on another shop. read more

They claim they can lace rims but when I went in to take all the stuff, which was 3 trips back and forth a to the car and when i brought everything in they all basically got scared and told me it's a "special job" and recommended me to a lawnmower shop. I live near Ann Arbor, a town with many bike shops. None of them have ever provided anything close to the service I received from Chris, John and Mark at Roll Models. Very knowledgeable, very helpful and just nice guys. They ordered the 2011 model bike I wanted and installed components that I had purchased elsewhere, including a computer, pedals/cleats and bottle cages, for no added cost. Also received a top-notch dynamic fit session that was better than any I had gotten in any A2 shop. A bit of a hike, but highly recommended! read more

The young sales guy really messed up my day. I went there to purchase some replacement parts and both of the parts he gave me were the wrong size. The shifter cable was too short. The chain was the wrong size for the bike, and I don't have a link tool, and the quick link did not work. One pin was too short to complete the linkage. Never again. read more

Horrible experience!! Disrespectful customer service!! I went in with my wife after purchasing 2 Schwinn bikes on Amazon and asked the guy at the counter if they could look over the bikes to make sure everything was aligned and that I had put the bikes together correctly. The dude basically treated me like we were idiots for buying Schwinn, saying that Schwinn is not even a company anyone and its all garbage made in China. This confused me a bit considering there is a Schwinn sign hanging outside of this shop. At this point, I let the guy know that I was not a bicycle professional and was just looking for a couple bikes to cruise around town. He laughed. His co-worker walked over and and he goes, "Hey, you wanna take this one?" Basically, throwing it in my face how stupid I was for purchasing these bikes, and hoping to get a laugh out of his co-worker. He then said he couldn't help me and that I'm going to be spending a ton of money in repairs because of how awful my bikes were. I told him "thank you" and we walked out. I have no idea how this place has 4.9 stars. It was one of the worst customer experiences I have ever encountered and I will never be back in that store again. read more
