I didn't worry about anything that day and it all worked out perfectly. We had a lounge-like vision for the party: no assigned seats, a mix of table sizes, and a buffet of tapas style plates that would get people moving around the space. Jill made this happen and it felt seamless - she was endlessly positive and full of ideas and solutions to make the event feel festive, COVID-safe, and flowing. No one ever had to wait in line for drinks - bars were plentiful and well run. My husband and I sat at a small table together which she thoughtfully prepared ahead of time with a full array of food so we actually got to eat a little that evening! I know that we were typical clients, but they treated us in a way that made us feel so totally special and it elevated this to such a perfect celebration for us. Our son was thrilled in every way, and virtually every one of our guests commented in some way on how delicious the food was, how amazing their team was, and how seamlessly the staff handled all of the various transitions especially in such a challenging and crowded space. Chef Mellanee's page, filled with tantalizing spreads, set in entrancing presentation, made a foodie like myself, instantly interested. Upon speaking with Chef Mellanee, I was immediately taken by her warmth, easy-going nature, patience (because, I asked SO many questions, on multiple occasions), and polished professionalism. Though I had nothing solidified, in terms of a venue, or even a wedding planner, Chef Mellanee offered me much guidance, and recommended a venue, which eventually led me to connect with my future Wedding Planner! I was presented a set list with a plethora of hors d'oeuvres, Buffet and Dinner compilations, and a separate drink menu, should an open bar be desired. Though many fantastic options were listed for consideration, Chef Mellanee informed I could inquire about offerings not listed, also. On the day of the tasting, my then-fiance and I, had car trouble. After speaking with Chef Mellanee, she graciously offered to extend the appointment to a reasonable time. By a miracle of God, we made it to the tasting, with 20-mins to spare. Upon entering Chef Mellanee's presence, we were immediately put at ease. The highly stressful event we'd been through, began to melt off us. Music played, in the background that set a loving mood. My beloved and I, sat at a table set for us to dine like royalty. Each course was impeccable, and Chef Mellanee checked to ensure our thoughts about each dish, were of genuine satisfaction. After our meal, and offering our final decisions, Chef Mellanee brought out a card game for us to play! It was a sweet game, made to enhance connection between a couple. We loved it! On the day of the wedding, upon entering the venue, I was told by my wedding planner to check a bag that had been left in my changing room. There, I found a white box, embossed with The Fork Goes on the Left emblem. Inside sat a few wonderful items, and a thoughtful, sweet note, that I keep in mind each day. From the time of service to the end of the night, everyone raved about the food, and service, rendered by Chef Mellanee, and her A+ Team. The food was well seasoned, and delightfully satisfying, speaking to our guests' Caribbean background, and elevated tastes. Chef Mellanee's team were the epitome of polished professionalism, courtesy, and joy! What also caught my eye, was how well Chef Mellanee's Team had her back. Before my husband, and I, were to take a picture with Chef Mellanee, the same lady on her Team, stopped to fix Chef's collar, to ensure she looked her best - I LOVED that! It spoke to everything we saw that evening, that contributed in so many ways, to their supreme level of service. Great trust, comradery, and respect worked within their Team dynamic. If any Bride is considering catering services, please, look no further than The Fork Goes on the Left. The level of care, and pampered service you, and your guests, will experience, will undoubtedly make your event, a day or night, to remember. Hubby said it was the best he ever had. The roasted vegetables were scrumptious- the carrots, beets, Brussels sprouts were so good even a kid who doesn't like veggies would be going for seconds. His experience and professionalism always comes through. When Jeff tells you "don't worry", you can absolutely not worry because he always knows best. The wedding was at the Picnic House in Prospect Park and the staff knew the venue and transformed it into a beautiful venue exactly how we imagined it. Alfonso was great from the minute we got there. He was calm and efficient in helping to set up for the ceremony, the decorating, the fireplace, the centerpieces and candles just how we pictured them and it was all perfect. He helped organize the ceremony and timed everything perfectly. During the cocktail hour, the food stations and the passed food just kept on coming and was all interesting and delicious. My guests were already raving. For the reception we chose the buffet which was generous and delicious. Many of my guests were saying, "There's more food??" The waiters were great, the bartenders great, everything went without a hitch, even the clean up was seamless, not to mention all the food we took home!! It was such a joy…read moreand ease to work with Adam, Tommy, and their staff.  A true diamond in the rough of Coney Island and the best value out there for Brooklyn weddings! Extremely recommend this place. First, the space has been recently remodeled and it is truly gorgeous and modern. You don't have to worry about bringing in much of your own decorations - our florals, ceremony, table settings, and photos looked stunning against the Riviera's backdrop.  The service of the Riviera staff was also impeccable. Up to the wedding, they were responsive and helpful and kind. During our wedding, the staff took extreme care of us and our guests, and over-checked on us every step of the way. I felt very taken care of. At the end of the night, waiters had trays of water waiting for everyone as they headed home from the party. They even put champagne in the bathroom! Our guests were dazzled.  The food is also exceptional and aplenty. The cocktail hour had so many food stations our guests thought we wouldn't be serving dinner! Then dinner was another 3 courses of amazing food. Everyone commented on how delicious it was. The bar is top shelf and wine bottles sat on each table.  Again - the value here is out of this world!
