I'm not sure which is a bigger scam, FTX or Park Chinois. You're better off going to a PF Changs. It is wildly overpriced. The food is either tasteless or drenched in salt/grease. I really have no idea how this places comes off as luxurious as it seems. It's not even a fun experience. You get charged an entertainment fee that maybe - maybe - is played for 20-30 minutes tops. The only thing that was decent was the bang bang chicken salad and wagyu dumplings. Outside of that the food was disgusting, and I'm not being dramatic. It really was not good at all. If you're considering here, please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Everything comes out very fast and feels pre-made. This is absolutely fantastic food and wine, but greatly overpriced! My friend and I came here for dinner. We each ordered a vodka Collins and a glass of wine, then split an order of wagyu gyoza, veggie egg rolls, chili mango chicken, and vegetable fried rice. Flavor was great, especially the wagyu gyoza, but the portions were small (we could have easily ordered 1-2 more dishes). The total bill came out to 205 pounds after the 10 pound each "entertainment charge" and 15% service charge? The entertainment was a jazz band that was pretty good, but they only played for 20 min or so. We felt pretty pissed that they added all of that on top of the already pricey food. The ambience is nice, with great 30s decor and a nicely dressed staff. But I would not come back, it was not worth the price. read more

This is a gorgeous venue with talented performers. The food is also good. Desserts were particularly remarkable in presentation and taste. My friends really enjoyed the duck, which you have to order in advance. The truffled rice was also notably good. My biggest issue is the cost, which just seemed ridiculous. 4 small dumplings were £15, there were very few bottles of wine under £100 (4x markup of retail prices), truffled rice was £35, and the waiters were clearing dishes before they were empty. They are very upfront about the entertainment surcharge of £10/person, yet many tables have an obstructed view. You just wind up with loud music trying to drown out your conversation. At the end of the night you get very expensive food & wine, plus the entertainment cost, plus the service charge (on top of the total bill, including the entertainment surcharge!!). It was £790 for the 4 of us! While it was an enjoyable evening, I won't return - the food was good, but I would expect each dish to be exceptional and service flawless for those prices. read more

We ordered steamed rice so we can "neutralize" our palettes and have something in our stomachs so we can have cocktails. The cocktails were mixer heavy with little alcohol but nice presentation. The stars are for the entertainment which was adult themed (drag and burlesque) talented singers and performers. So, the good first:food, while pricey is really good. The atmosphere is fun, but I'll admit the music a tad too loud if you, say, want to talk. The not so good, the service is rough at best. The bad, the prices at the bar are obscene but they aren't nearly as bad as the bartenders who use their hands for everything, and I mean everything. So my husband and I stumbled upon this place looking for a place to get after dinner drink. We walked in and were captivated. The decor, a throwback from 1930's Shanghai appeared so authentic. Wait staff in tuxes and bartenders in vest and bow tie just added to the whole ambiance. We were lucky to get a tour of the place which was simply fantastic. So I know that there are LOTS of people who are loving Park Chinois and would be shocked with a less than 4/5 star review. This place is definitely trendy and borderline pretentious. It seems as if you need about 4-5 waiters per table, all are confused whether or not you ordered. Communication is not their strong point. The food ranged from meh to very good (the only reason I rate this 3 stars and not 2!!). My favorite were the gyozas and I would strongly recommend going elsewhere for this dish. The price does not justify the food or service. They seem more focused on appearance rather than essence, so my advice would be, give this place a miss. read more

Another restaurant by Yau. The ambience and decor is very warm and charming. Takes you back to the 30's in colonial China and probably Vietnam. The service is excellent and professional with the exception of the guys at entrance who treat you as if they have done you a favour to accept you in spite of having a reservation. The food is very good but mixed. Some dishes stand out (the ribs for example) some are good (crispy duck rolls), while others are just ok (the Wagyu beef). Not all dishes are Chinese though. Some are Japanese (soft shell crab) and others are Thai (shrimp curry). Desserts are definitely not Chinese. Worth a visit. read more

Fantastic food and decent cocktails. But the service was sub-par at best. We had 1.5 servers, both of which didn't know the menu well and who were not able to answer our questions. But where the restaurant really failed was here... They forgot to mention to us when making the reservation and when we arrived, that there is a 2-hour limit on our dining experience... what made that bad was at about 1 hour and 50 minutes into our slow dining experience (slow because our cocktails and food took a while to receive), we ordered more cocktails, tea and dessert... and when those items arrived, they gave us the bill and said that they would need us to leave as quickly as possible, as the table was reserved for someone else. I asked for a manager (by the name of Memit) and explained to him that I was frustrated by this and asked him why they would allow us to order more items given we would not have enough time to enjoy them? His reply was I am sorry, but this is how we do things here and that he was sure their policy was explained to us when making the reservation. When I told him it wasn't, and that it wasn't posted on their website or told to us when we arrived either, he again said he was sorry but there was nothing he could do. I asked if he would credit the items from our bill that we do not have time to enjoy, he said "sorry, but no". I asked the waiter when paying my $400 bill, if I was the only client that has ever been bothered by this and he told me "No, it happens often". How silly that a restaurant with good potential ruins the experience for its clients by simply not clearly expressing their process prior to their clients dining experience. I found their policy and process to be unnecessary and unfortunate. And the fact that their manager didn't offer anything, such as seating us at their bar or deducting the dessert from our bill... well... that was grossly unempathetic and simply ridiculous. I would give this 0 stars if I could. I had heard so much about this place and we finally got to experience it. They don't tell you when you're making the booking that they charge £15 per person for the entertainment. At least that's what they call it. It was like watching a bunch of amateur street performers who were completely disinterested in even being there. The food was meh and the service was horrible. Our server couldn't understand us and we couldn't understand him. He couldn't guide us through the menu and even walked away while we were still asking him questions....If all that wasn't enough, we got to witness our server's boss completely reprimand him in front of us. If you have to discipline your staff, do it in private. Then to finish off the night, while we were taking pics on the spiral staircase, we were told, not asked, told to 'evacuate' the stairs. So embarassing! I contacted them to complain - Nikhil, the 'manager' told me he would conduct a 'complete investigation' and get back to me. Two weeks later and I have yet to hear from anyone. Complete nightmare and we ended up paying almost £200 for this nightmare experience. Total waste of time and money. read more
