He said this was super serious, if it went on further I'd be going to the emergency room for emergency surgery. I was completely shocked after visiting another instacare being told to wait out the viral infection on day 2 of being sick. I'm so glad I went for a 2nd opinion. This was day 12 & I felt hopeless and fearful I was just going to be told to wait it out. Thank God for Dr Peterson taking all this away & giving me the care I so desperately needed. I feel super blessed and lucky to have walked in there & to find a Dr specializing in sore throats. He said I had bad luck because he only sees this maybe twice a year. But I also think I had good luck to get him as my Dr today. I can't thank you enough Dr Peterson for my experience today & for my future health. I'm so grateful. Also shout out to Nurse Taylor S. She checked me in & was super friendly & most importantly caring. That was our first sign that we were going to have good care. She checked on us throughout the appt and made me feel like my care was important. Thank you so much for that experience & your kindness.

I would think that sick kids would be just as big of a priority as the adults, they do not make you feel that way.

If you are treated by Jon McKean (technically a doctor, but actually calling him one would be an insult to the medical community) ask for someone else or go somewhere else, especially if you are a woman- lest you be made into another statistic. In general women are 7X more likely to be misdiagnosed than men, my guess is it's quite a bit higher at this ER. Jon McKean doesn't even have BASIC knowledge of what information an MRI can provide. I went in unable to walk due to disc herniation flattening a nerve, I specifically asked for an MRI not knowing at that time that it was a disc herniation, and he flat out refused saying, "The only reason someone would get an MRI on their back would be to look for an infection."  For those who don't know (and apparently this includes Drs at LDS hospital) an MRI can show far more than an infection- they can see all kinds of tissues and as johns Hopkins published in 2016 even cancer cells at a level of precision that is far better than a biopsy procedure, but procedures make more money than images so they probably don't utilize it at LDS. I left in agonizing pain, literally screaming with every movement, and all I got was a condescending misdiagnosis of "muscle strain" and a script for regular strength ibuprofen. Fortunately I was able to get imaging from a competent doctor elsewhere. Seeing how so many people (especially women) are being mistreated by ERs second-guessing or dismissing them when they likely had a false negative for COVID and are long-haulers who can't get adequate care I feel the need to bring this issue to light. If you want to be second-guessed, dismissed, receive sarcastic apologies for your pain, and be misdiagnosed with the long-term consequences leading to a lower quality of life, then LDS is for you and you would really like Jon McKean.

They said they needed the bed but as I was walking through there was PLENTY of beds that were available there wa absolutely no reason she needed to get kicked out it was absolute bs they could've at least told me that I'd have to pick her up in an hour but they didn't, I will NEVER EVER EVER go back to that shitty ER again and I highly recommend you never go there either
