I saw Dr. Milito for a total restoration, which involved the removal of old implants, the placement of new implants, bone grafting, and MORE. Throughout my treatment, Dr. Milito and her entire team could not have been more caring, understanding and supportive. When I had an emergency, she came into the office on her day off to make me presentable again. She advocated for me when I felt that I was stuck on the back burner by the rest of my dental team. I'm thrilled with the final results, and I love my new smile. I now call Dr. Milito my "Dental Doula." If you are looking for a dentist who truly cares, has a sense of humor and will take as long as necessary to explain the work, Dr. Milito is the one. I recommend her highly! read more

Never a long wait, everyone is friendly, and the service is generally solid ... but they do the thing that a lot of dental offices do, which is nudge you toward treatments you're not sure you need. They're not super aggressive about it, but they're also not super open about the pricing, insurance coverage, or necessity. Most recently, the dentist told me that there was a note in my file that I'd asked about a retainer and/or night guard, which absolutely not true. (I did not know they did retainers for adults.) I've also had issues with my insurance covering their X-rays, given the frequency they suggest. I think they're good! But I'd go in with some skepticism. read more

Dr. Milito is great, she's a great communicator and is very knowledgeable. She's good at listening to the problems but the treatment plan is rather aggressive and I'm just not sure if it's necessary. I talked to multiple doctor at the end and none of them suggested me to get the level of treatment (surgeries) as what she suggested. I dont know who's right or wrong but if you are looking for an aggressive treatment and spend a lot of money on something rather simple Dr. Milito may be good for you. The office is really the worst. I was for the longest time told that my treatments were all out of network, so I paid everything myself and they still filed insurance claims. My insurance paid them 8 months before I was checking my insurance online and realized that I was never notified by the office that the insurance paid them while I also paid them. I contacted them multiple times to eventually get them to write a check to refund me yet they asked me to go pick it up. This is really ridiculous, if I never look at my claims online with my insurance I would've never known that they got double paid. Also, who ask someone to pick a refund themselves in the middle of pandemic. This is ridiculous. I cannot be more done with this office. read more

Downright con artists. I was hesitant at my first appointment when they tried to sell me several procedures I did not need. They told me I had 8 cavities. I got a second opinion who said they could only find one. I decided to trust them because they were close to my apartment, but before the second appointment I asked to confirm that the charge was completely covered by my insurance. They confirmed that it was. Finished the appointment and a week later I get a bill for $150. I call to contest the bill and they threaten to send the bill to collections. read more

We went there for a routine cleaning and check up and didn't hear back from them, so we assumed it was all covered by insurance. However, 3 months later; we received an email, not a letter, saying our accounts will be send to collection soon. DO NOT GO HERE!! They have tried to sell me so hard on things I do not need (i.e Invisalign, deep gum cleaning) which I have politely declined multiple times. They are just looking for your money. After declining, I was given a rude response and told that we have "different opinions" on what is a required treatment. In addition, I have never had a more painful cleaning experience. When my eyes started tearing and I winced from the pain, the dentist mocked me and basically said I was overreacting. I have gotten regular cleanings for years and have never experienced so much pain. They are rude and just want to sell you on treatments you don't need. I feel very taken advantage of here as a young, first-time client and won't be returning. Please do not make the same mistake as me. read more

Incompetent staff made it literally impossible to see this dentist. First, I had to call twice to make an appointment. First staffer's basic grasp of English was a big hurdle. But I got the appointment, and she said they accepted my insurance. Then she said she wasn't sure. I called back before the appointment and she still wasn't sure. I was given then to the office manager, Nadia. First, she said I wasn't in the system, there was no appointment. This after I had received about four reminders via email. One full phone call later, she finally saw my appointment, but could not confirm what the first staffer told me, that my insurance was accepted. She promised that she would fill out all forms and that I would have to pay, and submit for reimbursement. She assured me I would get reimbursed"because it was a PPO". After I asked several times, she said she would contact my insurance to see if they were accepted. She said she could not get past the phone directory, and threw up her hands. "It's YOUR policy," she complained. For the record, I was super respectful, and always try to treat people in customer service jobs with patience. I called the number I gave her and was immediately connected with a CSA. This is an incompetent and rude staff. I foresaw insurance nightmares and canceled my appointment. The one star is for the receptionist who was very kind and helpful even amidst a pandemic and promptly refunded me the money they held as a deposit (weird but ok) for a deeper cleaning which was canceled because of covid. The second star is for the technician who was very patient and wonderful.The regular cleaning the day of went well, nothing too unusual. Just like a few other reviewers have mentioned the doctor herself is very nice but pointed out some insane things that no other dentist has ever mentioned to me such as nightly teeth grinding and jaw clicking when I open my mouth very wide and that's how apparently it will weaken my muscle further. I don't usually go around doing that so not sure what to make of it to be honest. Had my appointment a few hours ago, using my voucher from livingsocial for a cleaning/check up. The staff is super nice, feels like it serves its neighborhood well, and it looks very clean and modern and professional inside. The waiting room has nice modern leather chairs and you can have water or tea while you wait- they play classical music over the speakers. Dr Sophia Milito is cool. She took her time with the teeth cleaning and I thought it was a thorough job. For the uninsured, they have an "oral health savings plan" for $295 a year which includes 2 regular checkups, 2 regular cleanings, and all xrays. Then you get 10% off any surgical services performed. But I'm not sure how that compares to getting surgery with traditional insurance. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience. I went on a Thursday and I was seen right away. read more

So you know how when you go to a department store to shop for jeans, and then you end up finding a sale and you end up coming home with like 2-3 pairs and they actually fit without you trying too hard?! That's how i felt after finding Park Dentistry! I used to think that if I can walk away from a dental visit 1) without drowning in my own spit during a cleaning, 2) without blood stains and plaque facials from them digging into my gums, and 3) without a sore mouth because the dentist thought they could fit their entire hand in my mouth while doing my check up.. I had a good dental visit. But now, my standards are higher after being a Park Dentistry patient. Miss Brittany, the hygienist, takes her time to make sure that she does everything she can to minimize the pain/discomfort EVERY cleaning ( not just the first one to get you to come back the next time), and you get those nifty glasses to wear so that you don't random droplets of plaque in your eyes.... she consistently checks in to make sure that the sucker thingy isn't stuck to your inner cheek, and numbs your gums before everything cleaning for ease of pain. My toes thank her because they aren't curled and scrunched in my shoe from anxiety. When it comes to the dentist, Dr Milito can only be blamed for being thorough. On my very first visit, she walked me through the process of checking my teeth, and you get to see it all via a screen that showed me exactly what she's talking about. Of course she'll go over the normal things like cavities, plaque build up and whether I've been a good girl at flossing, but she also points out things like receding gums or funky grinding patterns on my teeth .. all of which are not major issues now but potential future issues that i'll have to deal with down the road if i'm not aware. Perhaps these are things that other dentists consider as "normal wear and tear teeth issues" and they aren't major issues at the time, but isn't the point of a dentist is oral hygiene and preventive care? It's like going to a doctor who doesn't tell you about the minor cholesterol build up in your arteries you have now because "it's not a major issue now", but you know, .. it only eventually leads to strokes and all. Anyways, I've been coming to the office now for almost 2 years and have never had a bad visit. My pearly white chompers are still going strong thanks to these ladies, and even though i have to wear a really unsexy nightguard to avoid grinding my teeth at night (per Dr Milito's suggestion), i guess i have the 16 hours of awake time to look good! read more

You'd figure you get what you pay for 9 out of 10 times. This was one of the exceptions to the rule. I purchased a living social deal almost a year ago for a cleaning, x-ray, and dental exam, but i got much more than I bargained for. The staff was uber friendly from the minute I walked in the door. Not only that, but they really seemed to have my health in mind in suggesting a plethora of options for the non-insured in dealing with my teeth. The doctor also took her time in esplaining (yes, that's my Ricky Ricardo) exactly why she suggested the course of action she did, and even though I may have only been a one-time customer, had no problem sending out for lab results just in case I wanted to come back. Going to the dentist is supposed to be for most a dreadful experience. But there are no Dr. Acula's here, so be like Dr. Steve Brule and check it out (season 2) ya turkey! read more

Went to Park Dentistry this morning, and had such a good experience, i felt compelled to write a glowing review as soon as possible! I find going to the dentist's office to be quite an anxiety-inducing chore. Unfortunately, that anxiety has kept me from my regular visits longer than I care to admit. Two years ago, I had a traumatic experience at a Manhattan dental office (scathing review forthcoming) that left me with partial paralysis on the right side of my face. It has since fixed itself, but the anxiety lingers. So I was terrified to go to my appt., but the staff at Park Dentistry immediately assuaged my fears. Alexis at the front desk is just lovely, as is the lady who took my x-rays. Dr. Milito was as gentle as possible, and explained everything in detail. There were no hidden costs, and in fact, I found today's visit, and my plan laid out in the coming months to be reasonably priced. When Alexis asked me what I wanted to watch on Netflix during my next visit, and made a note to have Battlestar Galactica ready, I knew I found my dentist. I highly recommend this place! read more

This review is unfortunate, because I choose to see this dentist from all the positive reviews here on Yelp. The two stars are solely for Dr. Milito and her hygentist team, who were wonderful, sweet, and kind. The reason for the lack of 5 stars is two fold - 1 - the disorganization of her office is something to be alarmed about. I got a filling done here, then less than a week later I was in need of a root canal on that same tooth. When my endodontist called, numerous times, they were given hesitent and evasive responses, like 'Yeah, I think it was tooth 15'. You 'THINK'?? You don't have any records? Or perhaps a doctor who performed the procedure to ask? They were extremely difficult to work with, and made it hard for my endodontist to get any background on what was wrong. Just completely unnecessary and uncalled for. The first secretary that I worked with had an attitude that was uncalled for too. 2 - bad/lack of advice. Dr. Milito was very sweet, and spent some time with me, but she was like a bad news machine, that actually had me crying at the end of my first visit. She outlined 4 crowns that I needed, a silver filling that has to be replaced and then crowned, etc. When I asked some older dentists, and my endodontist who has given me solid & proven advice in the past, was just excessive. Turns out, I only have one cavity thats urgent, but the rest, is stuff thats fine for a couple of years (insurance benefit max out at a certain amount each year keep in mind), or stuff that can be done over time. What I was really more concerned about was my bite and my jaw pain, but that was an after thought to Dr. Milito. Also, there was a clear sign that my root was dying when i had my filling done - as pointed out by my endodontist when I was giving him the background that the office wouldn't - and Dr. Milito never mentioned anything or warned me that a possible root canal may be needed in that area. Overall, my experience here was a disappointment, and would find it difficult to recommend her office. Finding good a dentist is difficult, unfortunately I have yet to find one in Brooklyn, and have turned to one out of state near my other home in VT. read more

I went here with a groupon and everyone was nice enough. But they recommended that I take out almost all my crowns, fill cavities, yada yada. The total estimate they gave me was up to 6,000! I am very upset at this office! When I called I specifically asked if they participated in my insurance. They assured me and basically lied when my daughter had been already seen by the dentist. My insurance covers X-ray and cleaning and my copayment is only $15. The charged her card for $110 and conned her out of $60 for meds I could have gotten through my insurance. The office manager was rude and and cared less about my concern. I told her if her office had been up front and honest I would not have booked the appointment. She said she would refund minus the copayment and then send me to collections for the original fee of $400. I will never go back because they treat me unfairly. I ended up paying for something my insurance would have covered for only $15. I don't recommend at all. read more

Dr. Milito seemed to clean my teeth well, but when it came time to pay my bill at the end, things got weird. Dr. Milito told me that, based on the x-rays, I had been grinding my teeth, but couldn't speak any further about what I would need to do to fix it - she said I needed to pay $350 for an appointment in order to see what would need to be done. They asked for the payment upfront, and when I balked, they said they needed 20% to "hold the appointment." When I still refused, they just walked away and ran my card for the $71 charge for x-rays. I realized soon after I left the office that x-rays are always covered under my basic insurance, so I wasn't sure why I was being charged. I emailed them for documentation regarding the charge and was met with a bunch of BS about how they were planning on refunding me "if" my insurance covered the x-rays. No one said anything about refunding me at the time of the payment - no explanation that this was a payment just in case or anything like that. Generally, if there is a question about insurance covering something, I would expect that (a) they would explain upfront that the charge would be refunded if insurance covered it or (b) they would simply submit the claim and if it wasn't covered, to send me a bill. I emailed my insurance company for confirmation that everything was covered, sent that information to the office, and then they called me to refund my card. So, it did turn out okay in the end, but I do not think if I hadn't called and emailed them, that they would have refunded a penny. For that reason and the weird $350 appointment, I would not recommend Dr. Milito or Park Dentistry. read more

Brought my kids here when they offered a deal to their school. Couldn't be happier. The staff is friendly, accommodating and certainly interested in ensuring my kids health and making sure we are happy patients. It is not the lowest price office in Brooklyn, but I believe you should give your teeth and mouth quality care. I've consistently gotten cleanings twice a year here for the past 4 or so years with Brittany and she's always been thorough and great. She tells you what she'll be doing before she works on your teeth so you know what's coming. She's friendly and fun yet professional. Dr. Milito is also wonderful. I got a crown, fillings and a night guard - all done beautifully. I was in a bit of a time rush and Dr. Milito was very helpful and accommodating. I usually do not like going to the dentist but a friend of mine highly recommended Dr. Milito. I have been grinding my teeth in my sleep since I was a child and have been issued several mouth guards from previous dentists. I never liked using them because they were usually of cheaper quality and never had the correct fit. Dr. Milito suggested I try a custom guard. I was skeptical with the design initially but after a few nights I grew to love my new mouth guard. It is much smaller then my other guards and doesn't leave an unpleasant taste in my mouth. I am very satisfied with her suggestion and highly recommend it to fellow teeth grinders. Since then I've been back twice for cleanings and found the doctor to be thorough with my exam and very helpful. Compared to most other dental offices this is by far the most impressive with general aesthetics and comfort. There's soothing music playing in every room, the option to watch Netflix while I sat in the chair and a very charming office manager. After I walked through the door I completely forgot that I was at the dentist's. I've referred many friends and family. read more

While I did need a couple of fillings, the experience of getting those fillings was totally painless, which was a first for me. She tells you about what is going on as it happens as well as how to keep your teeth healthy overall in a way that is truly helpful. She's also very kind to top it all off. Hands down the best dentist I have ever visited. I went to Dr. Milito using a group-on coupon for teeth whitening almost a year ago. Since then, I have completely changed how I think and care about my teeth. I had largely neglected my teeth, having suffered multiple fillings and four root canals over the past thirty years. Meeting with Dr. Milito and her staff (who really are some of the best dental hygiene technicians I have seen, simply because they are so warm and kind during the treatment, and actually seem to care about their job) honestly helped me realize how poorly I had been treating my teeth, and I've since completely changed how much I care for them. And in the past year she has also helped fix many of the prior problems I had - from bad fillings to fixing crowns. If you get anything from this office it will be a renewed appreciation for how important your teeth are. I've heard people talk about cost as an issue, and it can't be denied. Dr. Milito pointed me toward some expensive treatments I needed, some costing upward of $1,000. But what struck me about her recommendation was that almost every single procedure she recommended was performed by a specialist, meaning she got nothing out of it. I was hesitant to spend the money, but I found some in-network specialists to see if her recommendations were sound, and she was right. I've since had a lot of the issues she pointed out during my consult fixed, and it hurt the pocket for sure but it meant a lot to me that I had a dentist make recommendations for treatments I knew she benefited nothing from. Also, one last thing about Dr. Milito is her office. I don't meant the physical space so much as I mean the atmosphere and the people. Alexis, her office manager, is just about the nicest, most accommodating, and well informed dental office manager I've met. Just don't skip an appointment or be late =) And the rest of her staff are equally warm and kind people, which is rare for a dental office. The other thing I like is that appointments start on time - Dr. Milito seems to be very focused on this. I've never waited more than ten minutes for an appointment. I bought a groupon or something equivalent for a cleaning, x-rays and oral cancer screening...I will not be back. I know you shouldn't wait too long between cleanings but I don't have dental insurance and I don't make a lot of money so I do my best at home. That is no reason to make me feel like a total idiot but that's what this dentist did. It is actually a couple months later and I am STILL thinking about how bad I felt when I left. I went in mostly for the cancer screening...having quit smoking after over 20 years I was very concerned. I even told the dentist that I has lumps removed from my mouth a couple of years earlier and she didn't even ask if biopsies were done or what they were....very troubling. She also never really checked for oral cancer...I know this now after going to another dentist and actually getting the proper examination. Then comes " Are you happy with your smile?" Answer yea and you'll get a cold, dead silence. Yes my teeth are not neon white, yes my top teeth are a tiny bit chipped and yes my bottom teeth have some crowding. I am comfortable with that and happy with how I look. Again....for a moment she made me feel awful. I have TMJ and a friend of mine got a great affordable guard for her dentist so I asked about it. The one they tried to sell me was $500! Seriously? My new dentist just made one custom fir for me for less than $200. The only thing I did agree with is that I should get the deep cleaning soon which is around $1500 but Park Dentistry is not where I am going to get it done. Oh, and it turned out I have 2 more lumps to be removed from my lip...something the dentist should have noticed if she only looked. I'll be getting them biopsied next week thanks to my new dentist who's also doing the deep cleaning for $800. Maybe finding a dentist with a groupon is not the best way...lesson learned.
