The director of the facility, the director of nursing and head of admissions all clearly have a goal of meeting the resident's needs with excellent care and compassion. This attitude starts at the top and is a pervasive attitude throughout the facility. My mom has been a resident for over a year and we have been very pleased. It's been such a relief to know that Mom is safe and being well cared for. I have cameras in her room and visit regularly throughout the week so I'm very aware of the attention she receives and it gives me peace of mind to know that she is content, well liked, receiving good medical attention and getting the therapy she needs, not to mention participating in fun activities and making friends. They schedule regular assessments with the family to address any needs, preferences or concerns and my family is regularly reassured that the resident's health, comfort and satisfaction continue to be a priority. read more

Today I took a trip to this facility to visit a loved one. This place does not reach even the minimum requirements. As a previous CNA myself I could see this facility is being held to very low standards. The hallways smell of urine and there are bags of soiled bedding throughout the halls. No one should be left unchanged for so long! Something shocking I also noticed is that they were leaving patients meals in their rooms with residents that could not feed them selves efficiently, with food all down their clothes and beds. And when it came time for them to pick up the trays, it was alarming to see that either none or very little food had been eaten for a majority of them. The staff was also not opening the drinks for the residents to be able to drink the needed liquids, trays were being picked but with the plastic wrap still on them with nothing consumed. This is very alarming, the fact the nursing staff is not properly overseeing the lack of care and attention the aids are providing. This is not okay! They should be ensuring they are getting their needed calorie and liquid intake. The 3 aids I did see either had a mad face when walking around the halls or were watching their phones instead of the patients that rely on them. No one came to do rounds to change them, rounds should be preformed at least once to max two hours. I did not see this preformed once during my four hour visit. They also did not elevate the heels/feet or have pillows on the sides of the patients for rotation to avoid the possibility of break down and bed/pressure sores. If you have the option to take your love one else where I highly recommend it. Everything about this place screams neglect.If this is how things are managed during a day shift, I can't imagine how much scarier it is at night. read more

RUN PLEASE RUN!!!!!!! Do not leave your love one's here!!!! If you love and value their well-being this is not I repeat this is not the place!!! My family came there with an infection and bandages!!! They let his wounds become more infected by not changing them and then lying stating he refused for his bandages to be changed!!! They didn't change his colostomy bag for days that get bursted open!! After speaking with other residents family members they have stated how they have found the family saturated in urine and disrespectful staff!! The disrespectful staff I too have encountered as if they were being brother by you approaching them!! I am very thankful that he is gone!! read more

2023 January: From what I recently found out, they're under new management & I was looking for a nursing home for my sister-n-law. I was told about Park Manor Bee Caves. My sister-n-law and I made an appointment for a tour of the facility and both of us was very pleased. The fist thing I noticed was there was no 'nursing home smell'... which meant a lot to both of us. As the process moved forward, all of the employees that were part of the process were very friendly and helpful. So far the nursing staff and other staff members have been ever so kind and helpful to her needs and to help us both in this difficult process. This is the worst facility ever. Do not leave your loved one's there ever. My father was left with a dirty catheter for days , bed sores untreated, was served food with mold, at times did not receive his medication. My father had a bladders infection, got septic, e-coli, pneumonia, Covid and is now on hospice. Please do not ever use this facility!!!!! read more

WORST FACILITY!!!!!! BEWARE , do not send anyone to this disgusting, neglectful faculty. My Father was under their neglectful care and left with moldy food giving him eColi, dirty catheter which causes a kidney and bladder infection, which then turned him septic. He had Covid with no treatment and pneumonia. Left unattended too. Clueless staff, when he was transferred to the hospital once we could get him out of there. The comments from the attending doctors said this was the worst case of neglect they had ever seen. They have been cited by Medicaid for unsafe health practices. I am working with Medicare advocacy group to report them so other patients are not in danger if you have anyone currently in this facility, my recommendation is to get them out of there as soon as possible while they're still alive. read more

I went and visited the facility three weeks ago, and expressed my intentions of moving to the admission director Edel Garza, followed up the following day with the requested documents, and resent the same documents after talking to the admission director. Since then I have left several messages for the admission director through Kari (Excellent) receptionist and Marsha also another Male staff member to no avail. The facility I am staying at has tried to communicate with the admission director via email and phone calls and sent out the medical records to no avail. I would like to know why I was told Everything was set for the beginning of February but was subjected to this unprofessional encounter. I would encourage anyone that considers short-term rehab or long-term care at Park Manor Bee Cave to do so. During my rehab stay, I feel that I received the best care and attention. The entire staff were dedicated to making my health and comfort their number one priority. The facility is very clean and the rooms were comfortable. If the need arises I would certainly stay there again! read more

I DO NOT recommend this facility. My father developed pneumonia in early March of 2020, and spent four days in the hospital. We're still not sure how he ended up coming to Park Manor, but he was given a list at Baylor Scott & White, then a "marketing" person from PM showed up to talk with him. He said he never chose them, and the hospital tells us they don't call the facility until the patient chooses one, then they called me and told me my father had chosen PM, but my father says THEY TOLD HIM I chose the facility. Either way, the paperwork was started and I went to take his things before he was transported. When I first went in, they had just started their COVID-19 screening, which was good. They took my temp, asked me questions, and I signed in. As I was walking with the admissions lady, I noticed black stains on the vents on the way back to the skilled nursing area, and I specifically asked her if there was a mold problem. She said no, that "it just needed to be painted." When we arrived in the wing where my dad would stay, it was pleasant, but not pretty. The humidity in the wing and in his room was very high. When we got to the room, it was passable, but with old, dinged-up furniture, a broken desk, particle board dressers. I wasn't happy with what I saw, but by that time the paperwork had been done and I felt like we couldn't change. Transport brought my dad later that day...it was a little late, so he didn't get there until 5 pm. I brought his medications with us, which are pretty extensive...as is usually the case, they said they couldn't use them, and that I needed to take them home. They said that they had to be ordered from "the pharmacy," and I expressed concern that it was late. I was given a printout of my dad's medications and told to review them...something I think should have been handled by the nurse. They said that the pharmacy would bring them later. I reminded them that he had been given a breathing treatment several times a day at the hospital and that he needed one, and I was told "they would give it to him the following day." I insisted that it be given, and the nurse was visibly upset with me for pushing. I was also told that I could not leave his walker with him...he is a SIGNIFICANT fall risk, and they told me he couldn't have his walker until he was evaluated, which might be a couple of days. I wasn't happy about that. After sitting in my dad's room for about an hour, I started having upper respiratory issues that usually indicate I'm having a reaction to mold or cigarette smoke...there was no smoke. After two hours we left, and when I got home I was sick. My husband also had significant respiratory issues that evening. Around 9:30 p.m., my dad texted us to tell us that he had not gotten his Xarelto...a critical medication for him that if not given, will literally cause him to have a stroke. It's happened before. They promised him the medication would be there by 10:30 pm. I told him that if they hadn't brought it by 10:45, I'd drive the 20 minutes to bring it to him. Although I had had NO sleep in the previous four days, staying at the hospital with my dad, at 10:50 it hadn't arrived, and I drove up to the facility. Nevermind the COVID precautions...at 11:10 pm., I was able to walk in the front door, used the security code on a label above the keypad, and walked right in. About the time I walked in, the "pharmacy" delivery guy passed me, apparently delivering only two Xarelto pills to the nurse's station. The next morning, at 6 am, I called United Healthcare and BEGGED for them to allow me to move my dad. My dad had a horrible night, with a heavy door outside his room slamming every ten to fifteen minutes--I figured out the closer was broken. The sink in the bathroom had no cold water, so he couldn't brush his teeth. They did not give him his 8 a.m. medications until around 10:30 a.m. When I called to ask about this, they told me "staff was in a meeting." No excuse for 2-1/2 hours delay with his meds, especially when recovering from pneumonia. There were other issues I won't go into, but they were significant enough that I successfully got authorization to move him. When I talked to the admissions folks that morning, I told them of the issues, and at one point I told them I was moving him to Brookdale skilled nursing...there was a snarky comment about "good luck with that." I ignored it. I went to stay with my dad until the transport came because I was afraid they'd ignore him, especially after the delay in his medications. While waiting, I found the source of the mold...it was under the AC unit and visible behind a loose vinyl baseboard. You can see evidence of previous water damage, including a rusted drywall nail. They shut down the facility to visitors that afternoon. I learned about a week later one of the staff tested positive for COVID, as well as staff from other local facilities. read more

The facility is full of compassionate therapy team members and nurses that are motivated to make a difference. There is always something happening for people to be involved in; upbeat and lively, not the typical quiet, somber healthcare feel. The management team is committed to making sure needs are met for patients/residents and family members. Even when dealing with difficult or complicated circumstances, they are willing to make time, listen, and guide folks through the processes. The facility is easily accessible. It is very valuable to have such a reliable skilled nursing facility in our local Bee Cave area. read more

I'm really sad to write this review. There's so much potential in Park Manor at Bee Cave, but they just can't seem to do what needs to be done. There are some staff members who care deeply about what they do. They probably will find a job at a place that takes better care of their residents. My grandmother (93) is diabetic and we've repeatedly had issues with the diet they provide for her. We've had to have care meetings about not feeding her a plate full of starches and carbohydrates and nothing else. We've tried calling when my grandmother called us for serious problems and she couldn't get a response from the staff. The phone rings and rings until it hangs up on us. So we keep calling and the same thing happens, over and over. My grandmother had a wonderful gentleman who was visiting her and he made her feel girlish. It wasn't anything weird, but the gentleman had reported Park Manor to the State so they banned him from the facility and he could no longer visit my grandmother. My mother and I have been bringing my grandmother earings for years. Nothing expensive. Just fun stuff. They've all been stolen. I don't even think they've looked for them. Probably because it was a staff member. We had such high hopes for Park Manor and we stuck it out for 2 years hoping it was just growing pains since we moved her there right after it opened. We're giving up and moving her. The new place isn't as pretty, but maybe there will actually be enough food to feed the patients, and maybe it'll be hot food instead of 1/2 slice of dry toast or cold bacon. Maybe they won't run out of things like eggs and bread. Really. Where does their food budget go? And why can't our society get this right? Their rehab care may be great but, believe me, long term is definitely not. read more

PLEASE RUN. DO NOT ALLOW YOUR LOVED ONES TO STAY HERE!!! If I could leave negative stars I would. This place has the absolute most unprofessional staff. My grandmother has been in therapy for TWO years after a few hours staying here. Humana wouldn't pay for a rehabilitation facility in "tier 1" so we went to the next option which was this place. After a very painful knee surgery that needed tending to we thought this place could work. NO. My grandmother expressed she needed to go to the restroom (she is unable to walk or move her leg at all...had had surgery 4 days prior) and the nurse merely pointed at a shut door, when she asked for help the woman replied, "oh I don't do that". Red flag. My grandmothers wound was leaking and when we asked to have the wound re-bandaged, a woman came into our room with opened gauze that HAD STAINS ON IT!!! (You would expect unopened packages in order to insure nothing was contaminated. And don't even get me started about the sanitation (or utter and complete lack thereof). A woman in plain clothing (nothing like scrubs) and nails at least an inch long (no problem with this whatsoever other than this is not something that is typically allowed in hospitals or facilities of this sort due to sanitation issues). When my father asked the nurse if she was going to be washing her hands or putting gloves on her response was "we don't have any gloves". WHAT FACILITY LIKE THIS DOESNT HAVE GLOVES!!! After this we decided that this was a major red flag. My grandmother refused to stay another minute and we decided that we had to take her home for safety and sanitation concerns. So here comes the second nightmare- as my grandmother could not walk or move her right knee at all, we asked the facility to borrow a wheelchair just so we could get to the front door, my father would then have to carry her to the car from the front door. They literally said "it's not in our policy to allow just anyone access to our wheelchairs", this is where the shock began, we could not comprehend how they wanted us to transport our poor grandmother. We explained that we did not want to KEEP the wheelchair we just wanted to make sure that we could remove her from the traumatizing environment. It took calling the owners for them to ALLOW us to borrow the wheelchair to take her to the front door of the facility. Absolutely disgusting. read more

Be very careful if you put your loved ones in Park Manor. We spoke to the financial dept and had to create a whole plan to work out the medicaid system. they would take her savings each month and then apply for medicaid payments. We did everything in our power to make the transition as smooth as possible. But Park Manor dropped the ball and have been trying to extort money from us-that was their responsibility to collect from the govt. So on top of the treatment MIL was getting we were getting screwed on the financial end. Look hard before you leap. read more

Yes, the doctor prescribed the medication but she started having side effects like hallucinations. I asked you guys to talk to the facility doctor or her neurologist to discontinue the med, but no one did. Her hallucinations were getting worse by the day and I kept asking for you to stop giving her the med, but the nurses kept giving it to her. She eventually had a delusional episode but it was due to the fact that your facility kept administering a medication that was causing severe cognitive issues. You guys were at fault. Then you guys used her delusional episode as a reason to kick her out and refuse to let her come back to her home. Once my mom went to the hospital, that's when people stopped answering my calls. You, Cory, never answered my calls or retuned my voicemails. You didn't have the professionalism to tell me personally that you were kicking my mom out after overdosing her. This yelp response is the first I've heard from you about this. No one told me you weren't going to accept her back until the head nurse finally called me hours before the hospital was discharging her because she was stable. So now after this traumatic event, to add insult to injury, we had hours to find mom a new home. It's been almost a year and mom has been in a home that takes great care of her. She hasn't had any cognitive issues (zero!) because this place is great at managing her meds. She is back to her funny self! She is the best she has been physical and mentally and it just highlights how awful things were at Park Manor. read more

Park Manor is a wonderful place full of kind, caring staff people, and you can tell it is run well from the top down. My mother-in-law ended up at Park Manor rehab after suffering a nasty fall and breaking her ankle at a lesser rehab facility in Lakeway, where she received terrible care. We were skeptical of rehab facilities when she was placed here, but Park Manor has put those fears to rest. My partner has been in almost constant contact with the director at Park Manor, who is responsive to her needs and makes sure my MIL is cared for to the highest standards of care. When we visit daily, we find that her needs have been met fully, and very often staff has gone above and beyond to make her comfortable: providing cold juice when she asked for it, hand-feeding her meals when they noticed she was not eating enough. Staff is in an upbeat mood, which suggests to me that management treats them right and the good care makes its way to the residents. If you are searching for a rehab facility for your parent and worried about finding the right place, I can assure you that Park Manor is a good one. We learned what the bad ones are. Park Manor cares about the older generation...thank God! They are a blessing. read more

Gave it 1 star because Yelp won't accept a review with no stars which is what they deserve. Don't walk, run from this place. My Dad was admitted on a Wednesday following hip replacement surgery and admitted to the last room at the end of the hallway. Needless to say he was forgotten. He didn't receive an assessment from Physical Therapy until the afternoon of day 2. On Day 3, he walked for 30-45 minutes because he was having too much pain. Found out on Day 4 that they were giving him 1/3 of the pain medication that he was receiving at the hospital. There was an order for pain meds that he could have every 6 hours, but he never received it more than twice in a 24 hour period from Day 1-4. On the morning of Day 4, I showed up to the facility and there was a clear alteration in mental status, not only did no one notify me, but the staff was not at all concerned. I made the decision to have him transported back to the hospital where they determined he had a bladder infection (which causes extreme confusion in the elderly), he was dehydrated (no source of hydration in the room, only offered at meals) and his pain was being way under managed. All sources of confusion and agitation in the elderly population. In addition, he was sent to the facility to rehab his hip but PT only got him up 1 time within his 4 day stay. Now we have to start over, in the hospital to clear up the issues mentioned above and then to an acute rehab hospital. If you care anything about your loved one, look at other facilities. They made all kind of promises, none of which were kept. Unfortunately I didn't read the other Yelp reviews but they all say pretty much the same. Again run from this facility.......... Cory: I think you need to re-read my review and maybe my Dad's records at your facility because I don't understand your statement "It is common for hospital to change medication orders upon discharged to a post acute setting." All that matters are the DISCHARGE ORDERS from the physician at the hospital who discharged him. Let's take a look at the orders that your facility received in the "post acute setting". The orders read: Oxycodone 5 mg - Give 2 tablets by mouth every 4 hours as needed for pain 6-10, so the physician was allowing him to have the ability to get something for pain 6 times in a 24 hour period. He is 87 years old and had a hip fracture/replacement less than 1 week before he arrived at your facility. This is what your staff administered while he was under your care: 7/12 - 2 tablets @ 5:40 am and 2 tablets @12:56 pm 7/13 - 2 tablets @ 1:49 am and 2 tablets @ 11:52 pm 7/14 - 2 tablets @ 12:02 pm and 2 tablets @ 6:00 pm 7/15 - 2 tablets @ 8:15 I had him transported back to the hospital @ 10:00 a.m. due to extreme confusion and pain (certainly greater than a 6, I assure you). By the way, his admitting diagnosis at the hospital was urinary tract infection, dehydration, and poor pain management. For a patient that could have received 2 tablets every 4 hours per the physician order your staff never administered pain medication more than twice in a 24 hr period and the intervals between administration were as follows: 6 hours, 12 hours, 9 hours, 13 hours, 6 hours, 14 hours- with physician orders that he could have had it EVERY 4 HOURS for pain in excess of a 6. I think screaming out in pain probably warrants pain of a 6 or greater. On the most widely used 1-10 pain scale, a 6 is considered MODERATE PAIN. No one seemed a bit concerned that Sunday morning he was out of his mind!!! All I can hope is that when an 87 year old member of your family fractures a hip that warrants a hip replacement and HAS A 14" INCISION ON THE HIP/THIGH, they are cared for by the staff at your facility and then you will understand what I am referring to. Cory, if you have any other excuses regarding the care that your staff provided my father, please let me know, I would be happy to respond to those as well. read more

It's really hard to find a nursing home that is not depressing. The place is actually well lit and not sad. But you can tell it is never cleaned. I assume the residents are not allowed to see the kitchen or they wouldn't eat the food. My dad was there for about a week before he passed. The conditions were pretty gross. And then there's the people. Some of the nurses had an insanely rude attitude towards the family and would even get offended when you asked about medication. They got my dad's pain meds wrong and refused to double check and it's the most pain I've seen him in. Really traumatic experience. There was one extremely nice and compassionate male nurse but he was the exception. If you must place a loved one here, be very careful and double check everything they tell you. read more

Would rate no stars if possible. This place was a hell hole. I had Nurse Ratchet for a nurse. I was admitted on a Friday, holiday weekend. My nurse call button was broken. They said someone would fix it the following Monday. I was expected to wait on them to check on me. When they did get it working, same result, no response or an hour delay. I was on a feeding tube, and what was apparently their one and only pump, broke several hours after I was admitted. I went eighteen hours without a feeding while they waited on an order for hand feeding. My tubes got blocked and no one knew how to get them cleared. A night nurse from the "other side" finally came and cleared it. The lumpy air mattress was horrible. Nurse Ratchet said it wasn't adjustable. It was, as I was discharging, PT fixed it. Had to beg for a wheelchair. Was refused a walker or bedside commode. Nurse Ratchet was verbally abusive. I did not feel safe there. For the first time in many hospital and rehab visits, I felt like an abused patient. Was my first and last experience with a skilled nursing facility. Keep looking. There have to be better options. I waited several months after this experience to post, as I didn't want to relive the traumatic experience. I have spoke to previous patients and ex-employees and have heard that my experience was not an exception and that Nurse Ratchet was still firmly in place there. read more

I would like to publicly thank the management and staff at Park Manor for the fantastic way they treated my mother in the short time she was at their facility. My mother was quite difficult to work with, and the staff was very patient and understanding with her. They also went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable when we stayed extended periods of time just to be with her in her last days. read more

My mother has been at this facility for over a year in skilled nursing care. At first, the quality of care was outstanding. However, as more clients have been acquired, the level of care has declined to the point that it is now sub-standard. Equally important is this firm's billing practices. In April, I was informed of a price increase for services with no prior notice. In May, my mother was back-billed for the higher prices dating back to the month of March. I just received the bill for June and it includes back-billing for the higher prices dating back to the month of February. I must now seek legal assistance to stop these outrageous billing practices. This firm is not professional and trustworthy. Please think twice before placing your loved one in their care. read more

They keep sending me bills that we and Hospice Austin have paid in full. The payment checks are cashed. Park Manor will not send an itemized bill proving that I owe them money. When I told them I would not pay until we had an itemized bill so we could understand why we owe them money, they sent the bill to a collection agency. After complaining about the collection agency, was sent an itemized bill, which I am disputing. read more

I moved a gentleman I hold poa for last summer to this facility. I was so pleased to find such a nice place. The small living room areas, attentive and responsive staff and food were a welcome change from his previous facility residence. I feel so much better about his care now. There are lots of activities and almost every time I stop by I find him in an activity or sitting in one of the living rooms. I rarely saw him leave the room at the last facility. He has Medicaid funding and this is a 5 star placement. I think people may think it is a little far from "town" but not really. Besides, a few extra miles is worth the peace and security I have in this staff, administration, and huge upgrade in the building and space. read more

So, one of their patients has developed a knee issue at 94. Totally swollen, the foot doesn't look like it even belongs to the leg. Dropped him from the lift earlier. It was an accident, told about it later. (Also, choked on Saturday eating in the cafeteria but we weren't told about it.) The knee is BAD. We were told earlier today they'd have his knee x-rayed. That was about 11. As of 7:30, no X-ray, no update, nothing. I know it's hard taking care of the elderly. But just convince me they care and that the state shouldn't question their operation!!!! read more

Our Loved one went to Park Manor for therapy, we had such a good experience. Nursing is warm hearted, gives excellent care, and is willing to help with anything asked of them. Apon arrival we were greeted at the door, welcomed by all staff. The Director of Nursing even came to welcome us. That is not seen in most facilities. The nurse taking care of us came to welcome us, the medication aide and the other staff as well. the therapy was wonderful, during our stay we seen the same faces and any questions or concerns were addressed very promptly. read more
