Great burgers and fries! We stopped in on a Friday night -- with great weather, the outdoor seating was full and indoors as well. Luckily there were seats at the bar, which we snagged. We ordered drinks (beer, wine, Aperol Spritz), plus all three of us ordered burgers (2 with cheddar, one with Swiss). Burgers were really good --nice size patty, cooked great. Fries were especially delicious, hot and crispy. Bartender was friendly and efficient, chatty but not too chatty. The bar is very cool for drinks but I think I'd choose a table for next dinner visit - the wooden bar is wide and not perfect for hunching over a big burger (unless you are tall and lanky I suppose!). We walked there so can't speak to the parking situation except to say you could try for street parking. read more

We didn't eat but the menu nice and people eating looked happy. It feels like a neighborhood tavern, almost like a British pub. Burger is delicious! Tender, melt in your mouth quality meat was used to form this. I highly recommend, and I'm a very choosy burger critic. We also had seen the French onion soup online on the menu, but it wasn't listed on the menu that was handed to us. The waiter said they had just removed it the day before, but still had some and it was served to us. It was also great! We should make a movement to put it back on the menu! It was hearty, with a lot of substance to the broth, plentiful crouton, and tasty cheese! They have a beer and burger special for $20. The jalapeño poppers (filled with cream cheese--not that I dislike cheddar but probably my personal preference) were particular highlights In the truest authentic, old school (read: Irish) bar vein, it's also a very kid-friendly spot for a drinking establishment--lots of board game and video game options for distractions while the adults are drinking, without it being distractingly or overwhelmingly a "kids/families only" bar. In that sense it feels very appropriate to the location--just a cool local dive bar spot for food and drink, whether you want to bring the whole family or hang out with some friends and watch a sporting event. I've been here a few times now. Great local bar but only had drinks up until this point. Good selection of beers. This time sat down at the bar and ordered a meal. Food - Blue cheese burger cooked medium with a house side salad. The burger was fresh dressed well and cooked the way I ordered it. The burger itself is a good size but probably lacked a bit of salt. Either that or some sauce to help round out the beef and toppings. The salad was also fresh. Crisp iceberg lettuce with a solid balsamic vinaigrette on the side. For me a burger and salad is a good combo and they did it well. Small nit - not a huge fan of iceberg lettuce since it has a pretty basic watery taste so a mixed green probably would elevate it some. The meal wasn't heavy which is a huge plus for me. It was not a greasy burger and for those so inclined it didn't sky rocket my sugar (for those who are type 1 diabetic and want to take note). Drink - Ordered a Pinot. They were out of the Cabernet. This is more of a beer bar than a wine bar I suppose. But the wine was fine. Probably a 5oz pour. Overall - Service was good. Quality: Park Slope Ale House has made some recent changes that make it a much more attractive spot for a bite, a beer, and to watch a game. I started with a cold beer from their draft list, which has a lot of familiar local breweries. The Mozzarella Sticks were a solid choice as an appetizer. The Ale House Burger was good as well, simple and tasty. Appreciate lots of pickles, and the fries were fantastic. Quantity: The Burger was on the smaller side, but the pile of fries it came with were substantial. Value: $7-$8 for Draft Beers. $12 for Mozzarella Sticks. $18 for the Ale House Burger. Ambiance: Park Slope Ale House has been a staple of the Park Slope area, but recently received a make-over. The menu is expanded and the space cleaned up. It still has that local pub charm, but the food is a bit more refined as is the drink list. They have three televisions above the bar seating, a row of tables inside, and a few more tables outside, for when the weather warms up. Crowd: Busy on a Wednesday evening. The bar completely filled up as did most of the tables. It is also family friendly. Service: Friendly bartender, but clearly they are new to the sports element of multiple televisions. They changed away from basketball games, which guests were clearly watching without really noticing. Parking: Limited parking in this residential area. read more

Really had high hopes for this place to become our local beer spot. Unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectations. The food was ehh (my husband described his chicken spiedie sandwich as burnt chicken on a hotdog bun) and my burger with the bacon jam was okay, but probably not worth $20, though it did include decent fries). They also got our beer order wrong, and they asked us to leave saying they had a 3 hr wait (we were only there from 6:45-7:45pm on a Thursday). Their beer selection is okay if you compare it to your normal restaurant, but compared to most places that call themselves an ale house, it was rather limited with only 9 on draft. My friends and I decided to come to this place for "happy hour" since it was so close to our work place. The place itself had both outdoor and indoor seating (you do need to show proof of vaccination if you sit in doors and it was nice to see them actually checking). The place itself was pretty cozy and cute. They had a variety of beer and cocktail options as well as a lot of food options. I got the Five Borough Summer ale which was light and fruity and super refreshing for a hot summer today. My friends all got different beers and everyone loved the beer that they got so that was a hit. For food, we got the mozzarella sticks (which we almost did not get until the bartender talked us into it) we are so glad we got it because they were so delicious, super cheesy and crispy. The fried pickles which were alright - I would honestly pass on these since they were not super fried. The buffalo wings which were amazing - highly recommend. They also have a variety of sandwich and salad options if you are looking for a full meal. Overall, super cute bar to just chill at with friends and I can definitely see myself coming back in the future - especially since the food and drink options were amazing!! read more

They serve up a variety of pub food, too. I enjoyed the selection of board games (and a few books) to play while waiting for food to arrive. To eat, my date and I split an order of buffalo wings and sweet potato fries. The wings were meaty and the buffalo sauce was tangy and hot. The fries were thick cut, and fresh. We had a welcome reception on Friday of our wedding weekend at Park Slope Ale House and cannot recommend the venue and the entire team highly enough! The venue was perfect for the event, with drinks and food for all of our guests and the space was super warm and welcoming and well decorated. The team of people working there were truly incredible: they helped us with the food for guests with food allergies and proactively communicated with us the whole time. Someone even specially checked in on my soon-to-be wife to make sure that she had everything that she needed and was getting enough food and drink. The food was great and so was the service.
