The fried calamari is too breaded and too fried, but it passes for bar food. The other customers there were great, but never in my life have I met such a rude bartender. The bartender was extremely rude from the second we stepped in, hadn't even talked to her yet and when she came up to us she was so mean every single time we got another round. We were not drunk or loud and we were sitting outside so genuinely could not have done anything to bother her. At the end of the night she looks at us and says "you guys can go" in the sassiest tone because she needed to clean up outside. The service was a bit lacking and slow, our drinks took a little too long to get to us and our water never got refilled. We only got appetizers here but it was pretty good. Esp the fried pickles. Was walking around Downtown Brooklyn recently after a few years. Ever since leaving downtown Manhattan for Queens, I don't venture around Brooklyn as much. As I perused the various new high rises, I stumbled across this large sports bar that was connected to the Ashland and the overall Gotham Market. The bar is pretty nice sized and has a lot of outdoor space and indoor space for playing games. Lot of cool merch too, including some old school Knicks gear. They have outlets which was super useful given the fact my phone was dead. I ordered a beer (KCBC Superhero Sidekick). Pretty tasty. I tried two others ones, I think were the "Grimm light year" and "Five Burroughs," but clearly didn't like those two as much as the other one's.
