About the class: As a person who is new to yoga, it can be intimidating but Hunt Parr is an amazing teacher and there to walk you through everything. He gives amazing analogies and anecdotes that make you chuckle but also his voice is so soothing. I was already feeling anxious because train delays got me there about only 3 minutes before class but after a few seconds of an intro I was well on my way to relaxing. Although my flexibility is limited, the moves were not complex and Hunt helped me tremendously getting into a few of the positions. One of the many things I liked about him was his attentiveness and willingness to help. I will definitely will take more of his classes in the near future. About the space: It's such a welcoming environment and both the owner and front desk associate greeted me upon arrive, with a water bottle (because they knew I was running late) and warm smiles. I was introduced to Park Slope Yoga Center (PSYC) through Groupon and it didn't take too long before I powered through my first 10 classes. They offer so many classes throughout the day that it's hard to NOT find the time to go. The instructors are amazing and Teri (owner/director) is extremely warm and welcoming. This is my FAVORITE yoga studio! Also, if you sign up on their website, the first class is $5 and you'll receive 20% off a class package if you decide to purchase one immediately following your first class. Groupon users also get 20% off their next class package (woohoo!). 10-class packages are $150, 20-class packages are $275, 1-month unlimited is $180, and 3-month unlimited is $449 before the discount. Single classes are normally $18 each (or $15 for the 60 min classes held at 1pm on weekdays). ____ STUDIO ____ The main studio is gorgeous and hip with skylights and windows that look out into a forest-like courtyard. It's also one of the most spacious studio I have ever come across (the other one is the 34th Street Herald Square hot yoga studio). During mid-day, you can have as little as 4 students in the studio. I have never seen more than 20 students in one class yet. During the summer, they have the AC on. The Pilates class are usually in the small open space between the main studio and the women's changing room. (Men have a little curtained off booth in the open area to change.) There are two bathrooms behind the stairs, equipped with paper cups by the sink if you get thirsty. ____ YOGA ____ For yoga, there's the beginner's Hatha Basic (75 min), the intermediate Basic Vinyasa (75 min), the more advanced and open Vinyasa (90 min), Mixed Levels (90 min), Prenatal, and Parent/Baby Yoga. Rosie, Naomi, Robin, and Hunt are my absolute favorites but I have also taken classes from others and immensely enjoyed them. I choose classes based on the time rather than the instructor or the level. The advanced yoga classes were initially intimidating since they are usually attended by seasoned yogis. I got over it quickly since it really is a judgement-free zone and the instructors are extremely encouraging and understanding. The classes are open to all levels but I would recommend attending at least a few Hatha classes or a Mixed Levels class before challenging yourself to a Vinyasa class if you are new. I love the Hatha classes. There isn't much of a flow in these classes. The class focuses on deepening your stretches so that you understand which muscles are being activated in each pose. I have learned to love and appreciate yoga through these classes and always gravitate towards taking them when my schedule permits! I wish they had more of the intermediate Basic Vinyasa classes though. These are only offered ~3x a week. Yoga mat rentals are $1. The studio provides blocks, straps, and blankets to maximize muscle engagement. ____ PILATES ____ For pilates, Megan teaches a kickass class that leaves your core and hamstrings sore for days. They provide thicker mats and use a different strap. _________________ Remember to take your shoes off after coming up the stairs onto the 2nd floor, have your key card scanned, and have fun! There are good things to say about the teachers here. They are the best part. I feel burned by this place though. Avoid the class packs. If yours expire, you'll need to "renew" the classes you've already paid for at $5 a class. And it must be done within three months. All that really means is you have a massive disincentive to ever go back. read more

2011 mission: practice yoga consistently... Park Slope Yoga Center is my first foray into finding a new spot to call "home," and I'm back to report (albeit, a little more bendy) that it's certainly AOK. After slashing through the throngs at the Park Slope Food Coop (a location I have noted to research later, I'd love to be known as someone that belongs to any type of co-op...much more rare in the Midwest, I assure you)...I made my way to the second floor studio. Upon entering, I was greeted and taken care of my the front desk, signed up for my class, and then sat to wait. There's an adequate waiting area..room for coats, mat storage for devotees (not sure if there is a charge), bathrooms, changing rooms, etc. Leave your shoes in the hallway! (there's a bunch of shelves). It's a bit hippie, but without the "free love" sanction. Let me explain. The staff just seemed...a bit...downtrodden. I witnessed a woman (came to attend a class) approach the man that had taken over the front desk. Woman: "I'm not sure who I should speak to about this...but I attended a class last week and I just wanted to tell you how AMAZING the instructor was...she just blew my mi---" :::interrupts:::: Man: "Oh, just leave it in the suggestion box...kthanks." Lighten up people. It's yoga, we should be on a bliss trip and handling compliments with grace and ease. No matter your function at a business, thanking someone to take the time to provide feedback should be a given. The woman walked back from the desk appearing a bit dejected...and I truly do not blame her. I attended the Hatha Basics class with a 515 start time on a Saturday (I'm lazy during the day!). PSYC has a TON of classes, and even some more cardio-based classes across the street at Devi. Really great if you need more flexibility...(pun intended). The class was good...I'm always stuck somewhere between beginner and intermediate because my practice has been so inconsistent...but has spanned about 10 years. True story. So I know the moves and most of the background, I just can't ever get my ass in gear to get intermediate style on this yoga thing. So, I attend with the basics people because I don't want to look a fool in my cute yoga outfits. (Lie: I don't wear cute things to yoga). It was challenging enough, but relaxing and I left feeling pretty good. It's a bit warm in the studio (mostly because of the sweaty class before us), so I tried not to think of that whole situation...but the wood floors are nice, there are a whole wall of windows overlooking the courtyard, etc so it's nice and bright. There were only 15 or so folks in class so there was plenty of room. The instructor was AOK. She helped with a few adjustments. It didn't blow my mind, and I certainly didn't feel a personal connection that would draw me back or make me loyal, but I did feel it was an adequate class nonetheless. I decided this year I'd try to be more flexible and take the plunge of going to my first yoga class. I was terrified, assuming I'd be an uncoordinated idiot even in a basic class, and would leave humiliated, never to return. But I was completely relieved to find myself in a basic class at Park Slope Yoga, where I was given solid, useful instruction without judgment. I left wanting to return, after getting a great deal on a 20-class pass! Even though I'm still little more than a beginner, I've been going to Park Slope Yoga for the past few months and feel amazing at the end of every class. The folks who work the front desk have been so friendly and put my nervous, awkward self at ease. A special shoutout to Liz, who teaches the Vinyasa and Restore class on Friday evenings. I had a free 2 weeks with class pass and decide to try this yoga place since it's close to where I work at NYPBMH. As soon as I walked in there is a dingy smell like sweat or wet clothes. The receptionist was nice she showed us where the class would be and where to place my stuff. Now once we entered the room the instructor named Rosie came in no introduction. It was a class of 7 of us. 5 Caucasian and my friend and I are African Americans. I'll admit we are not to string at yoga so we struggled a bit. Not one time did she come over and help either of us. She barely looked in our directions like she was afraid to touch us. She did speak to me once or twice when I made eye contact with her. Overall I did stretch good but not a nice vibe. class is an hour and half long and we left in 45 minutes I'm so glad we didn't pay for the class. We will not be returning!!! read more

I've been to this studio twice through Classpass. It's been years since I've done yoga, so I was a bit nervous, but everyone was really nice. The yoga room is also really chill there's plants all over and it's pretty relaxing. I originally took the Strong Vinyasa class and then the Basic Vinyasa, which I probably should have taken in the first place. This is my good-bye to Park Slope Yoga. I have always been just a bit ehhhh about this place. Maybe it's the desk people - who always seem just the tiniest bit curt, and the tiniest bit miffed by questions. (They also don't seem like the enthusiastic disciples that people who work the desk at yoga studios usually are... it's sort of like the owners employ random college students.) Or I'm dissatisfied because my inspirational yogi rebirth at the Prospect Park Y, which is $50 per month (unlimited classes) with excellent yoga teachers, raised my expectations a little too high. Or maybe I'm the sort of person for whom all the faux-Indianesque/hemp stuff is a tiny bit musty and passe, redolent of another time, when i went to Widespread Panic concerts and was excited about trying pot. Anyway, I wanted yoga classes at more diverse times, more weekday evening classes, more weekend hours. I also moved to the other end of the Slope, making my walk to the Y a good 20 minute brisk trot rather than a slow 3 minute amble. The Park Slope Yoga Center, located just around the block from me, seemed a good thing to try, and I wanted to use my 10-class card sparingly (it was $135) just to supplement my Y weekend vinyasa with Sarah. I was satisfied for the most part - the teachers are very good. The vinyasa classes are fairly frequent. The facilities are simple and basic, but sufficient. It seems clean. It's a bit New-Age-y, perceptible by the shirtless male zealots, not seen at the Y, aforementioned Indian paraphernalia, and the inspirational quotes everywhere. I've now exhausted my classes and just learned that the price has gone up on a 10-class card from $135 (already sort of an indulgence for me) to $150, which I really can't justify, especially since I really like the teachers at the Prospect Park Y, where I pay, as I said, $40 per month ($50 if you're not a Coop member) for unlimited classes. I am going to have to suck it up and walk the extra 20 minutes and discipline myself to get up for early morning classes. I will get my yoga! Time to tighten our belts! We're in a recession, folks! read more

Park Slope Yoga doesn't do it for me. As a preface, I like vinyasa classes that encourage intense engagement both physically and mentally; regular structure, good flow, challenging poses and muscle fatigue (are standing poses, balance poses, inversions, back bends and meditation in the same class too much to ask for in 1.5 hours? No! It can be done!). Maybe I was spoiled by yoga tree in SF, but I am looking for something specific I suppose. I found the vast majority of instructors at PSY to offer classes that are more basic than billed, have awkward flows, or have strange ways of starting class that does not draw practicioners in (why are we at the wall before we've even set an intention/done opening meditation?). None do readings or incorporate music. The one more challenging instructor is Hunt, who is pretty good, but doesn't make up for otherwise mediocre instruction. At $150 for a ten pass, Ill try again elsewhere. If anyone has suggestions for studios or instructors based on the above, let me know! read more

It's like saying " 'Stan' is the best lover in the world" when he was the one who popped your cherry and haven't been with anyone else. So I was a yoga virgin in 2009. Yeah, the hippie-chanting-posy-meditation movement skipped over me. I'm certainly no new adopter. I don't have anything else to compare to, so PSYC IS the best lover in the world. By now, I've taken a few classes at different times with different instructors at different locations within the PSYC family and I can safely say, yoga "gets me off," (so to speak) leaves me sweaty, loose and relaxed. I'm an addict. Although I still giggle during the Sanskrit singing and chanting and one instructor busts out this accordion thingy that makes me think of circus monkeys, I'm getting used to this alternative worldly lifestyle. Who ever thought posing would be hard?! Even the Basic and Hathra classes kick my ass as a newbie. What I do love about PSYC is that the instructors (4 of them so far) are very proactive. They walk around and correct your positions and don't push you into them. I've been having back issues lately and doctors orders was yoga. They've been sensitive to my medical history with great alternatives to the class poses. Granted I look really gimpy, not being able to "hang" with the cool kids, but hey, like sex, you get better with practice, right? read more

I became a devote of yoga after years of gentle insistence by my girlfriend. It was my belief that yoga was great for stretching, but wasn't as good for you as lifting weights or running. Then I tried yoga and I realized how wrong I was and how right she was (don't tell her--she will never let me live it down). I've done yoga in various cities and countries--yeah, I'm *that* cool--and Park Slope Yoga center compares nicely. The facilities themselves are average, and their website (schedule info) is amateurish (circa 1998 design) but the instructors are what matter, and they've got good ones. My favorites: Beth (earth mother, hands on), Eric (charming French accent, challenging), Trish (tough, fair, supportive), Romy (serene, flowing), Nikki (tough, non-stop action). What's it missing? Early morning classes and for the floors to be swept more often. read more

I'm still looking for the right yoga studio for my taste, practice and pace. Park Slope doesn't quite hit it for me...but it's still a great studio. I mostly go b/c they offer so many classes at a variety of times. I was tempted to give it 1 star b/c one of teachers made a rude joke to me during introductions which embarrassed me pretty badly. It was really hard to loosen up during class after that. But I let it go. The space itself is nice. There's enough room to move, store your belongings and wait for classes. The classes have been pretty good. I mostly go when I want a more intense practice since they're mostly flow. read more

I love this studio! Park slope yoga studio is open and airy and although located right on union manages to be quite and serene. I've attended multiple classes and have never been disappointed. The teachers are actual yogis and not someone who's just completed their 120 hours of teacher training to say they're a "yoga teacher". The classes are focused on the actual practice, alignment and offering many modifications for differing levels and less focused on "fancy flows". You leave feeling rejuvenated, encouraged and positive about your experience. read more

I attended a pilates class at the Devi Studio of the Park Slope Yoga Center. I won't be going back. The reason I won't be going back has nothing to do with the the service or the people or the class itself (sort of... see comments below). It's primarily a matter of personal preference. The place just wasn't my scene. It was too bohemian, too haphazard and too plain. I enjoy a modern and streamline exercise space. This studio was nothing like that, there was no continuity in the decor, it felt like everything was acquired from a yard sale and/or someone's world travels. This would be completely fine for someone else, but I found it distracting. Central air, please. Whatever fans they have going in that place would not hold up in any significant New York City summer heat. There are glass windows on the ceiling which provide a bit of natural light and look nice, but hello, doesn't that exacerbate the lack of central air issue. The class was just okay. I found that some of the movements were odd. And I was really annoyed that I had to continuously drag my feet across the floor. I like to feel muscle fatigue and really work up a sweat when I do pilates. If I wanted any other experience, I'd just do yoga. This pilates class was a bit to yoga-ish for me. I didn't feel I was getting the same type of experience with muscle and vertebrae articulation that I usually get in other classes. And the instructor kept on referring to spinal bones in numbers and muscle groups by their scientific names. Yea... maybe I should know all that and I don't and most people probably don't either so let's make it more accessible. They provide mats BUT no one was spraying/wiping down those pilates mats after use. It was just all bad for my neuroses. read more

I really wanted to love this place because it's the only one around Center Slope accepting crawlers for Baby & Me yoga classes. However, I just can't bring myself to go here anymore, even for regular pilates or yoga classes. First of all, if you're bringing a stroller, it's a massive pain to push it inside. Not only do they have 3 steep steps at the entrance, but also there's no way to latch the door open while you're going in/out. Then there's a very limited amount of space to park your stroller. Finally, you'll have to carry your baby up/down the stairs since the class is on the second floor. While you're in the class, it's always so crowded (like 20+ mom/baby pairs) and that gets very very hot and stinky. What you end up with is lots of babies crawling and screaming, and stressed mommies in a packed room, which isn't exactly what you'd want to pay for. So if your baby isn't crawling yet, do yourself a favor and go to Bend & Bloom; and for crawlers, go to Monkey Do or B&B Tot Yoga. As for their regular classes, there's always sooooo many people on the weekends. If you stretch out your arms, you'd hit the person next to you. I tried both their yoga and pilates classes. Pilates was the worst because the teacher was extremely snotty. For example, this teacher won't let you sit in the first row if you're new to the class; apparently that row is "reserved for people demonstrating better choreography". Seriously?! Last but not the least, try to avoid their class packs because they won't extend mine even for a few days unless I buy another pack; even that I'll have to pay additional $5 per class for the ones I'm extending. I love this place, it makes me feel like I'm back in the bay area. It's got that funky Berkeley vibe that makes you feel like your in a big old house in the hills, ex hippy owners who have lots of books and houseplants, probably don't eat meat and shop organic.The skylight is pretty and brings in beautiful light. It probably could be cleaned a little more often, but anyone who has a wood floor knows what a pain in the ass that is. You got to be seriously zen to want to do that job five times a day. The classes I've been to have been great, challenging but with room to have a tired day. Nikki is amazing, beautiful presence and positive energy. She corrects poses and pushes you further into poses, something not all yoga instructors do, but I like it. Other classes have been good too, nothing to complain about. Park Slope yoga makes this Bay Area daughter of bohemian artist parents feel a little more at home in New York. read more

I should preface my review by admitting that I've never taken an actual yoga class at PSYC. Pilates is more my thing, and I love Kathryn's class on Saturdays. I've been going for a few months now and I can feel a noticeable change in my body. My butt and core are tighter, posture is better, lower back pain is gone, and my body awareness has improved in a big way. Though I generally dislike physical activity (but I'm trying to change!), I end up looking forward to her challenging-but-enjoyable class every week. Her explanations of the choreography are always descriptive and clear. I often find myself thinking of her descriptions when I'm taking classes at the inferior studio I go to on weeknights. Also her deadpan sense of humor is a nice bonus when it comes out from time to time. The studio itself is unpretentious and affordable by NYC standards. Unlike other studios, you don't have to register for classes beforehand at Park Slope Yoga. My schedule and/or level of motivation is apt to change at the last minute so I appreciate that flexibility. It does mean that the classes can get pretty crowded sometimes, but it's a big enough space that it's really an issue. Now, if only they'd move one of the sparsely attended 630 weeknight pilates classes up to 730 or 8pm when I could actually make it... read more

I've started going here for the baby & parents yoga classes and am loving it. Sasha is amazing at giving attention to both the moms (have yet to see any dads here) and their babies. I can only speak for the prenatal yoga class, which is all I've taken, but so far I've been very happy with this studio. The front desk people are very nice, even giving me a free water one time when I forgot a dollar, and being super understanding the time I forgot my card. I just stopped by later and had it checked off. I've never felt pressured to purchase anything, and I get to keep my mat there. Its been frustrating in the summer that the location is not air conditioned, so even though all their fans were on and they had good air flow, it was still pretty miserable. Not too bad b/c the prenatal classes tend to not be as full, but it'd be nice if they had some window units, at least for those 90+ days. Overall, its been great. Trish, the prenatal instructor, is absolutely awesome, and I can't wait to keep going to her classes after the baby is born. read more

PSYC has a friendly and calm atmosphere while still offering challenges for the up-and-coming yoga student. I've been doing yoga off and on for years, and PSYC strikes a balance with straightforward instruction and a bit of spiritual chanting and meditation. The desk folks vary from sleepy to weird, but who really cares about the person who punches your card? More importantly, the teachers are very friendly, and not aggressive or pressuring. They keep a rigorous, but not impossible, pace, and they vary their practices enough to keep you engaged every week. PSYC's schedule has at least one Vinyasa every weekday evening and two or three on weekends. Other reviews have mentioned that the studio gets stuffy in the summer. Personally, I don't see the sense in doing yoga in an air-conditioned room. Warm temperatures help your muscles stretch and generally give you an extra oomph to any yoga session. This isn't a fancy gym, just a room where teachers help your practice. I also like that they're only a 5 minute walk from the Union R stop and the 7 Ave B/Q stop. I've only taken their Vinyasa classes, so I can't speak for their Hatha sessions. And I give 4 instead of 5 stars because of the price, which is a little on the high side, ranging from $12-15 per class, depending on how many you buy at once. Try them out, I doubt you'll be disappointed. read more

If you are doing a yoga class with your baby or toddler, try to bring the carrier! This yoga space is on the second floor and there are steps leading up the entrance and also leading up to yoga space. There is very limited stroller parking on the first level so it is definitely best to bring your child in a carrier. You should also bring your yoga mat if you have one as they charge to rent one. I took a baby and me yoga class here and since it was my first class, there is a link on the website to try your first class for $5. They provide everything else besides the mat: the straps, blankets and blocks. There were two instructors and they were very keen to help you with your baby so that you could actually do some yoga. One of the instructors fed my baby almost a full bottle so I could finish stretching, etc which was wonderful. Most of the other instructors of the other yoga places that I have been to with my baby did not try to help calm and soothe babies as much. I like the space itself. It had skylights with beautiful plants around it and it created a calming environment. The space is also very large and can accommodate many people per class. For the child class they split the room into walkers and non walkers so it was great to be spaced closer to other young babies or toddlers so the children are similar ages in your area. I had to run up and down the stairs to get a lot of the things for my baby so I would recommend bringing a smaller diaper bag or backpack so you can bring everything up at once. read more

A good neighborhood yoga place. Beth is by far their best teacher- I usually try to only go to her classes since I've been somewhat disappointed with the other teachers. It is, at times, quite over crowded - they don't seem to have have a cap on the number of people they can squeeze into the room. As far as I've seen the classes do a great job of accommodating all levels. If you are a beginner, they'll make you feel comfortable, and if you are advanced, there is room for you to be challenged. I find the front desk people to be quite pleasant. It doesn't feel like NYC in there (unless of course you get stuck in one of the super crowded classes) - the atmosphere is laid back with creaky wooden floors, lots of plants, and friendly staff. read more

I have only been to Park Slope Yoga a few times in the past year. I usually practice in the Manhattan (for convenience). But each time I have taken a a yoga class at PSY I always leave saying "what an amazing class and how great the teacher was". I recently had a class with Margaret. What I loved about the class was that her cueing was right on and there was a perfect balance of physical and meditative aspects. She also offers variations to all levels. I like to know I can push myself a little if I am up for it. She also had a great playlist! Location is great and they offer many different styles and times to take the classes. read more

I found Park Slope Yoga to be one of the most enjoyable Yoga experiences, I've had in NY/Bklyn specifically Margaret's "BASIC" class. With just enough hippie to her rock-and-roll and no judgement, Margaret makes it clear that there's no pressure to perform, and no need to flail either. With Margaret's guidance, she helps you perfect your perfection, or breathe through your imperfections (which is what I do most of the time!). Especially good for those of us with chronic conditions, those easing back into Yoga after being away or for those who partied all night and just need to detox. Margaret is eager to show how to modify a pose and if you can't keep up you will be kept up by the spirit of the Basic Class. My only critique is that I wish they had more of Margaret's Basic classes throughout the week. read more

Park slope yoga is awesome! I hadn't done yoga since I lived upstate, which was 5 years ago, and so I was a bit nervous about starting up again. Since January I've been attending Sophie's classes - I went to one and she was so great I made her my go-to instructor. She is challenging without being judgmental - I always feel comfortable to go at my own pace in her class, and I recommend her to people all the time. The first class was only $10, and although it's $18 a class after that, they offer packages for first timers for ten or twenty classes at a discounted rate. Worth every penny, I go every week and feel great. The meditation and chanting is great in Sophie's class too...with the stress and hustle new york can put you through, PSYC is a great place to go to put you at ease. read more

With the exception of a couple of weird subs, the vinyasa & jivamukti classes here are excellent...but only if you are great at ignoring super-snotty people at the front desk. C'mon people, it's YOGA. Take a breath! read more

Found this place on Groupon for my mom to take classes while she's in town. My mom doesn't speak English but felt comfortable taking all the classes by herself after I've gone with her two times. You get great value for the money. The studio is so Brooklyn vibe, wood stairs, window AC units, and trees outside the studio. Can't say anything about the instructors, I haven't taken enough classes. But it's worth checking the place out at least once. read more

I practiced here for a while because I love Sasha, Oceana, and Nikki. I tried to overlook the dirty floors and bathroom, unwashed rental mats, the fact that I got dripped on and watched a teacher almost slide in a puddle when the skylight was leaking, and the not-so-friendly owner at the desk. I stopped going last winter when the heat barely worked. Every teacher started the class with breath of fire and did their best to get us warm, but the room was just too damn cold and having cold hands put on you for adjustments doesn't help either! So yeah, there are some amazing teachers there (some of my favorites in the whole city), but you can find them all elsewhere if you search. read more

Park Slope Yoga Center has a new schedule and it includes some new classes like "Cardio Sculpt, "Bootcamp, and "Balance and Flow." I find this rather exciting and can't wait to try them out!!! read more

i love park slope yoga. tuesday night classes with robin are always packed...i know the true yogi is supposed to see past that and focus on practice, but i'm not there yet and for that, it's just too crazy sometimes! people just a little to close and in true ny fashion, not really aware or caring of their neighbor...i mean..DON'T WALK ON OTHER PEOPLE'S MATS!!! other then that gripe.... i love practice with nikki...she's amazing! she really pushes you to focus and keep moving. her music choices are always just right and i enjoy her style of practice--including the minimal chanting and talking. her meditations are to the point and thoughtful. i like the non-pretentious vibe...overall it's the place to be! read more

I came here with a Groupon for Prenatal Yoga and have really enjoyed my classes with Jocelyn (who has three children of her own). She's really thoughtful and gives great guidance. As I've gotten bigger, I've been able to modify the moves and take short breaks as needed. The class has helped me stretch -- working through some unexpected pregnancy pains (lower back pain, carpul tunnel) -- and strengthen. It's worth noting that reservations are recommended. The only slight negative for PS Yoga is that the air conditioning is quite weak, so if it's a hot day, expect to sweat or skip the class. read more

I really enjoy this studio! I found them through a groupon but I continue to use them through classpass. But - my favorite teacher here does not have her classes offered on classpass. I love how the instructors here boost encouragement and how much they radiate yoga and mindfulness in their classes. I can only do very few inversions, but I'm learning what I'm doing wrong in her classes. I've done a pilates class here; it was my first one so I don't have anything to compare it to. It was good, and I'd definitely come back for more! The studio is tucked away but it is kept clean and the common area is big enough where you are not bumping into each other constantly. The staff up front could probably afford to be a bit nicer... read more

The woman at the front desk (long dark hair) is incredibly abrasive. I came to take my first class here this morning and almost immediately turned around after seeing how she interacted with the people coming in for class. Yelling after students who were just hanging up their coats that they needed to check in, being rude to another teacher who wanted to drop in to class...not a good first impression/face of a business. read more

The reason I trek over the Gowanus to Park Slope is because some of my favorite teachers in the city teach there. My favorite is Robin--her classes are invigorating and she always gives a great dharma talk. I rarely make her classes because of my schedule, but I go whenever I can. Sasha is also wonderful and extremely knowledgeable and brings a sweetness to her classes. I also really like Nikki. She is very straightforward and makes it easy to keep one's mind on the mat... It's almost impossible to drift off in her extremely challenging open class. read more
