    The block of the theater

What a beautiful theater! There is not a bad seat in the house and the staff was so friendly. My partner and I saw a show here and were very impressed by the quality of singing, dancing and instrumentals. The stage was beautiful and it's located in such a cozy, pretty part of Saint Paul. I look forward to coming to shows here in the future!

What better way to wrap up a Saturday than by seeing my friend Chuck Eaton on stage? As a pirate!

Park Square Theater is one of those places you can drive by and never notice. But you should. This hidden gem is located in downtown St. Paul, only a long block and a half away from the Ordway. The entrance is in a little pedestrian-only street, surrounded by restaurants and retail stores. While there isn't a dedicated parking I could see, there is ample street or garage parking within a few minutes' walk. Once you get on the bricked street, the marquee makes the entrance easy to spot. Park Square is a small theater in the best sense of the word. The lobby is simple and straightforward, with enough flexibility to arrange as needed for whatever is needed. There are a few tables and chairs to recline, but be prepared to spill out onto the side walk if you and your twenty closest friends want to wait around after the show. Concessions offer a limited but creative menu. The interior of the theater is not large, creating a sense of intimacy with the stage and performers without feeling squished. The stage itself isn't large either but with creative planning can be more than adequate. Buying tickets online was simple and easy, though the ushers manually checking each ticket off the list (by name!) did back up the line a little. Not a huge wait, however. Definitely recommended of there's a show you want to see there. A good expert without being overwhelmed, simple and straightforward theater.

Not a bad little spot for an entertaining evening, at a price that the 99% can afford!

I actually like that it is updated and not a "historic" theater. You don't have steep staircases, old bathrooms, or impossibly tight leg room! Tickets are usually reasonably priced, and my favorite "cheat code" is to buy the "limited view" seats in the front corners, as they are significantly discounted, and often only have a minimal disruption in the view. Staff is always friendly and excited to welcome you to the show! They have snacks, coffee, and alcoholic drinks available for purchase, but often frown upon you bringing it into the theater with you, so plan ahead and get there before the show to enjoy!

Literally the only 2 downsides are 1) its in saint paul 2) the close parking is always full so on cold nights it is super chilly. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. The layout and seating are fantastic. I have attended musicals and operas and the venue is spectacular for the music. Bathrooms are incredibly limited here however so plan accordingly ladies.

The theater is located in downtown Saint Paul with lots of neighboring restaurants and bars if you want to pre or post show party. There is no designated parking area but there is paid street parking (free on Sundays and after 10pm) as well as plenty of paid parking lots and ramps nearby. There is a slightly raised platform with a railing that I always try to snag a spot at as it offers a great view (especially for us short people). Most of my pics are taken from that exact spot. The floor can get pretty cramped but most of the crowds I've encountered have been very friendly. The theater itself is old but beautiful. The upstairs area shows exposed beams and bricks which I think adds to the charm!

The restrooms were clean when I visited at the start of the evening. I'd come back for shows considering it's so small. The only complaint, exit was slow and crowded even though there were plenty of exit options but they were kept close, leaving one bottle-neck exit out the main doors.

We had had a terrible experience trying to deal with a different company originally and we ended up having to find another company and I am so so glad we found the Mystery Cafe. First off, Brian, who is the owner, was just fantastic all around, responsive, accommodating, kind, and organized. The night of the actual performance, I did not feel nervous at all, he and I had communicated multiple times and also already tested all of the electronics weeks prior to the event, it went off without a hitch. It was fun because it did require audience participation, but it was not too high pressure and they made the atmosphere just so light and exciting and it was FUNNY! There was so much humor and I found myself laughing a lot more than I had thought that I would. 10/10 would recommend. They came to our event, there were 3 actors and I must say, I think that the cost was very fair and reasonable. Great time!
