I have paid Broomfield over $5,000 over the years to be a member, continuing to pay all thru Covid to be supportive without the benefit of being able to use the centers, and this is who greets you at the desk and decides your status. The b-rex online registrations are always!!!! horrible! Let's start with connection. I am sitting IN one of the rec centers right now, so they cannot blame this on my wifi. The sites are slow and not well designed, both of which lend themselves to their dropping you mid-attempt to register. Pointlessly very frustrating to have to start again three times before getting all the way through. The Bay and the rest of the Broomfield rec centers are not connected City entities?! What?! The equipment and pools are good. I especially appreciate the choice of water temps, and the first class lap pools at the BCC.

Amazing public pool…read more We went most recently for the hot springs day and it was an incredible time. They had a ramen food truck (which was fine) and free coffee and hot cocoa. We have also been here as a family during the summer and the pool is lovely. You would want to come early and get a nice shady spot because they will be taken up fast. My kiddo had to do a swimming test to use the diving board in the summer and she failed both times so she had to stay in the larger shallower end of the pool. I appreciated their dedication to safety.

This is the brand-new Meyers Arvada Apex pool, and she is serving fresh concrete, sparkling water, giant windows, and enough shiny newness to make every old review spontaneously combust. We're talking:A 50-meter by 25-meter Olympic-size competition pool because apparently we're training future Michael Phelpses now. (Calm down Brenda. I said FUTURE Michael Phelps) A warmer training pool for those of us who enjoy keeping circulation in our limbs. (Oh thank heavens, because when the swim coaches say be faster. I find it is a great place to go during a pandemic because you can rent a lane to yourself for $10 an hour. The staff is friendly and helpful and the lifeguards are attentive. Fully coming into my middle age by joining a local rec center. Westminster Swim and Fitness Center…read moreis so nicely remodeled. The last time I came here was over 10 years ago and it is completely revamped. Karyn and Kim were super helpful in getting me started on how the membership works and allowing me to walk around to check out the space before deciding to sign up for the membership. Luckily I'm a resident of Westminster and was able to sign up with a resident discount. The 25 yard lap pool is nice and clean, there is a small diving area and a play pool. The locker rooms are clean and you can rent a locker for free with a collateral like a car key or ID in exchange for a key to a random locker. The showers are equipped with liquid soap, and the bathrooms are clean. We tried the steam room, didn't get a chance to do the hot tub and the sauna yet but those all looked great too. You can get a punch card at a discount if you're not sure membership is the way to go to try them out. There is a small gym area for weights and cardio machines. They offer classes too so check them out online through the Westminster Activities Book. Really glad that we joined the membership - we now have access to all the Westminster Rec Centers. Super reasonable and it goes back to the city and our community.

Considering its in the middle of a busy city and literally right next to a highway, this is a…read morepretty peaceful little "beach." A bit of sand, a splashy river, a couple baby trees providing a liiiittle bit of shade, a hot dog stand a short trot away, plenty of room for picnics... It's a tiny piece of the great outdoors -- and you can see Starbucks across the street. This space was pretty crowded on a Saturday. Lots of kiddos and dogs swimming in the river (which feels sooooo good). More families line the tiny shore than couples or river sports-doers. We brought a nice little picnic, towels, bad magazines so we could celebrity-stalk, and a portable speaker for some beachy weekend tunes. I get real lazy on any beach; kayaking and rafting aren't really for me, but you can totally get athletic if you want. The beach is very clean and small, the sand a bit rocky, and the water cold and shallow. I can see myself spending many a summer day here.. sunbathing (wear sunscreen!), picnicking, and people watching. The best!!

My pup and I live in NoCo so it's a bit of a drive for us, but I love taking her to new spots so she can explore new places and scents. I'm glad we made the trek here to check it out. We visited on a Monday around 1pm and there was plenty of parking available; It's also free to visit! There's a couple portapotties at the entrance and spots to grab some baggies if you forgot them at home. It's an open natural area so there's signs at the trailhead with warnings of rattlesnakes and coyotes so keep that in mind as you're exploring to keep an eye on your pup. We stayed for about an hour and she loved every minute of it, but it was a really windy day so we called it a day earlier than anticipated. I'm thankful we spent the afternoon exploring this beautiful area together.

Make sure to validate your parking inside when you go to pay and you can park right in front of the rec center, which was something we didn't realize right away.
