The office is in a brownstone it looks like an the waiting area was nice. The Receptionist had me fill out some forms then I was on my way with Dr. Grishina. She was very nice and asked me the general medical questions & history. Then she gave me an overall checkup. She drew blood, which I hate doing but she was gentle and I didn't feel a thing. After that she told me when I get my results back she will give me a call. Which she did not too long ago. It's hard to find a doctor these days you can feel comfortable with and who aren't pushy or rude. I really like her and I feel good knowing I have a place to go to if I have an issue.

I am SOOOO glad I made this connection. We have been working together for more than a year. And I mean it: "working together". I don't feel alone. I feel heard and respected. Dr. Chiniwala has so much knowledge to share, but she does so without forcing it upon you. Her bedside manner is awful and the wait times ridiculous. As a 15 year old she charged me $50 I couldn't afford for cancelling the day before an appointment . So she's allowed to make you wait for hours but if you need a concession to her extremely strict cancellation policy she's heartless. Despite her always booking way too many patients in a day anyway. It's all about the money for her. If you have Medicaid or Medicare she will treat you like garbage. I've had far better doctors over the years and I will never forget the way she treated me and my family.

BUT If you don't have insurance, 8 bills from the Northwell Health group (Sunrise) were sent to my insurance for the bloodwork totaling $924, $244 unknown, $147 (Blood sugar $74 and unknown $73), $47 cholesterol, $104 metabolic, $97 unknown, $103 Thyroid, $182 Vitamin D. I saw Kevin Lapin, NP. Just like most doctors these days, he only did the bare min. He entered my medical history into the system, and did bloodwork. He didn't investigate problems any further even at my request. He didn't seem to have much knowledge on how some foods such as dairy/cheese effects the body and it's functions. Otherwise, he's nice..if that's what you're looking for. I used to have a great/smart PCP who could identify problems with the given symptoms, then refer me (or not) to the correct physician.

I have been with Sunrise Medical for about 8 years..I was Dr.Carpenter patient..he was amazing..Now…read moresince he is no longer there the service is horrible..it was 3 to 4 to sometime 8 days before someone puts in a refill for medicine..it's a shame that it takes that long..after August I will longer be a patient of Sunrise Medicial..I use to recommend my clients to them but now I don't. They need a better system..I shouldn't be going 3 or 4 days without medicine because they don't check messages or too busy to put in the refills.
