The beers, the food are great. Claire is friendly and very helpful. We got the funghi pizza and the Iceberg beer. Love it. Thanks.

Very cute restaurant with ample outdoor seating in downtown Corner Brook. The generous portions of mushroom gnocchi and fish & chips were fabulous. Offered a creative list of cocktails along with excellent wine/beer selections. The showstopper was the Basque cheesecake for dessert, paired with a raspberry confit, it was better than what I enjoyed in Barcelona. read more

Walking around Corner Brook from our cruise and this nice guy (one of the owners?) asks if we want a nice place to have lunch. At first, we demure and point out we had just had a nibble - but he shows us the menu and BAM - we were hooked. It helped that as we were chatting with him another person walked by and said it was the best fish and chips she'd ever had. A short time later we were seated next to a delightful couple (Mike and Laura) and their beautiful rescue puppy on the sun-drenched deck. We had delicious local oysters - some of the saltiest yet not overpowering in a briny way. And - she was right - superb fish and chips that were beautifully battered and crispy outside with a thick portion of juicy cod inside. No hint of fishiness - perfection! Add a couple glasses of Sauvignon Blanc and pretty good service (they were packed) and I highly recommend it! I wish I'd snapped a picture though! I think I successfully added them to Yelp- they took over the Sorrento Pizza place in August. read more

Park West Restaurant - the entrance to the restaurant - Seafood Near Me - Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador

Corner Brook isn't loaded with upscale restaurants, so we were pleasantly surprised to find this one as we drove around near our inn. It was within walking distance of where we were staying, so we decided to try it out after a long day trip hiking out in Lark Harbour. We had no idea how good of a choice this was going to be. They were doing trivia inside the dining room, and we were easily able to get seats at a table in the large outdoor space. This was so well done outside... solid wood picnic tables with lightweight Corona towels on all of the seats. Nice touch. It was a little cool outside in August, but not bad at all. They have a very good selection of Newfoundland brews on tap here, so we had a couple of the Quidi Vidi IPAs. We both ordered an entrée here, and boy do they give you your money's worth. I ordered the tomato cream gnocchi, and my wife got the crab spaghetti on the recommendation of our waitress. I can tell you, that gnocchi dish was top notch and I did not leave a speck of leftovers. My wife's crab spaghetti was a literal mountain of food. Easily could have split that dish. She just kept digging and finding more huge chunks of fresh local crabmeat, and I did my best to help knock that out. The sauce on both dishes was amazing. The spaghetti sauce was a light lemon caper with roasted tomatoes. We were more than happy with the meal here, and would absolutely go back again if we revisit Corner Brook. read more

We enjoyed our lunch at Park West during a three week vacation in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. We started with fried artichokes, these were delicious and not at all greasy. The greens and goat cheese salad was yummy and the vinaigrette is crave worthy! The margherita pizza was one of our favorite bites of the trip. read more
