I also learned that my thyroid was under active, which explains my unusual weight gain. The salt therapy room was a cool experience and I loved that they had Bluetooth speakers inside the cubicle. I tried their whole body vibration machine today which was a wierd but cool experience. After a couple of minutes I tried a couple of the suggestive poses and became comfortable with the whole body vibration machine. Re: A thermogram at the Thermography Center of Dallas on Spring Valley…read more I have never given a review on a medical office or wellness clinic, but I thought it necessary to warn people about my experience here. I hope others will not have such a negative experience that I had with the NMD (not a medical doctor, but a doctor of naturopathy). On a positive note, the nurse that performed my thermogram was well-informed and pleasant providing clear instructions and explanations. Karah, the naturopath who presented the results and interpretation to me of the thermogram was the extreme opposite of the nurse. The naturopath did not seem well-informed, was unpleasant, and demeaning to me as a patient and medical professional. When I requested the full report be sent to me and my medical provider, she refused. I was shocked. Even though I explained to her that I was an advanced practice nurse with 40 plus years of nursing and 30 plus years as an advanced practice nurse she still refused. I then explained that I was an NMD, and a certified lymphatic therapist. She stated that my certification and licensure was not sufficient because I hadn't gone to school in AZ where she had attended. In fact, she had no knowledge of the meaning of my allopathic credentials and said she could not release my own complete thermogram report because I was not adequately credentialed in the state of Arizona (the test was done in Texas). The fact that I am an advanced practice nurse with more medical experience than she will ever possess and it is a patient right regardless of any education that I have, legally should be reason enough to receive the complete report. My practitioner, who practices in TX, requested that I get a thermogram. She requested my report from the center. She had no response from the clinic. Another issue I had with her is that she kept saying she went to medical school. I asked her directly if she was an MD. She said no, she was an NMD. This misrepresentation of herself as a "medical doctor" implying that she is an allopathic medical doctor is shocking, deceptive, and misleading. An NMD is a naturopath with some (but not complete) medical education that med-students endure. Her claim to have gone to "medical school" demonstrates the lack of respect and recognition that allopathic medical doctors endure completing a bachelor's degree + 4 years of med-school + residency and fellowship. She appeared to be overall ignorant of what allopathic medical doctors complete, and ignorant of my nursing credentials as well. She was demeaning in her attitude towards me. Additionally, she criticized the diet that I was on without knowing my full health history and told me I should eat things that I know, as a holistic naturopath myself, are not beneficial to me. She asked questions about supplements that made it obvious that she was not knowledgeable in that field. She also wanted me to revise my protocol on a daily basis with muscle testing. Ridiculous! Finally, late Thanksgiving night, my full report was released to me after my practitioner had emailed and called someone else (her supervisor?) to request a complete report be sent to me, summarizing my experience. I am still flabbergasted by the entire experience with the lack of knowledge and professionalism from this "NMD" (naturopath). She could not even interpret the full report to me adequately I'm sure because she didn't have the understanding to explain it herself. Do NOT go to this thermography center, and especially to this naturopathic "doctor".
