We were led to the back by a very…read morenice woman only to face the most arrogant, dismissive and unfriendly salesman's we have ever met. (Doug) He did not introduce himself, nor did he say hello. I'm not sure he even looked up to acknowledge us. In showing us the jet skis, he proceeded to abruptly rush ahead of us, letting the door shut in our faces. The entire experience was a nightmare. We returned a few hours later, hoping we had just caught him on a bad day. Not only had he not remembered meeting with us, he refused to answer our questions in regards to certain aspects of the jet skis; ultimately creating a more uncomfortable environment. Unfortunately, we will never go into Irwin's again.

I have done business at this place for a few years. Ernie Jr. who was running the place seemed to…read moredo a good job and Heather who worked the counter was always excellent. This year the place has changed drastically. I was warned by a friend and boy was he right. When I arrived at the place I was told that Ernie Jr. and Heather had retired(I think not).Last fall when dropped off my boat Heather calculated my bill and I paid it in full as I did every year. This year when I returned I was told I had a $100. balance. I then noticed they had raised the shrink wrap price $100. After a brief dispute with Ernie Sr. who has a miserable personality and obviously doesn't want to be there I decided it wasn't worth the aggravation and going forward I would bring my business elsewhere. When I took the shrink wrap off the boat , which they had put in my yard for the winter, to clean it I found a large hole in the roof.I called Ernie Sr. and told him and he said it must have happened in my yard. He sent a employee down and I showed him. He said he did most of the work on the boat and he didn't know how it happened but he would tell Ernie Sr. I told him that I didn't expect a new roof and we agreed a patch should be a pretty easy fix. I even gave him the old shrink wrap which had no holes in it to show there were no holes in it About a half hour later I got a phone call from Ernie Sr. saying they found a hole in the shrink wrap and it must have happened in my yard . I told him when the shrink wrap left my yard there was no holes in it. He asked me if I was accusing him of putting a hole in the shrink wrap. I told him maybe not him but someone at Gillan. He started yelling at me and I told him he would not see me again and he said that was a good thing. I have heard that the place is up for sale and that is a good thing because with his attitude the place will never last. It's really too bad because when his son was running the place it was a good place to do business.

They detailed the boat, gave us bumpers, life vests, and 4 lines so we could tie the boat off. I felt we paid a reasonable amount, I was happy, and took delivery Labor Day weekend. They winterized it, stored it, and got it ready for a June pick-up. I'm now dealing with the service department, and I feel they are bending over backwards to accommodate us. They've maintained and stored my boat for 20 years. No one is perfect, but they're nice folks and always try to do the right thing and be helpful. Do not use this company. This company will not let you cancel or move your reservation if the…read morereservation is within 14 days. Weather reports are only 10 days out, so you get totally screwed if it rains. Even if there's lightning, this company will not let you move your reservation. I could understand if you canceled or moved and they were left with an unreserved boat that could have been reserved by someone else, but boats will not rent in the rain, so they are just using the weather as a means to screw you and profit in the mean time. Use Winnie Marine instead. They cost a bit more, but they'll let you cancel your reservation on the day of if it's raining. No contest in terms of service.

First boat rental on the Lake! We saw the sign on our drive into Laconia saying they have rentals…read morewithout a license. Looked them up to see a myriad of positive reviews. Every one of them is true! Friendly staff that was helpful answering all my silly questions. Most of them are kids so don't be alarmed - they're definitely smarter than you! Rented a pontoon boat for the day for $400 which was the same price as a 2hr guided boat tour. Not cheap, but absolutely worth it. You get the boat from 9am - 4pm so spend the whole day out on the lake! Lake Winnisquam has a sand bar right near the marina where you can anchor up for a redneck yacht party. Awesome time all around! Boat was in great condition, clean, and pretty new. Without a license, the boat goes up to only 15mph so it's a nice chill ride. Staff shows you the ropes before going out on the water. Dogs are welcome on the rentals as well!!

However, this is a dealership and there is a level of markup associated with their labor and parts...it's how they make money. Still, my experience was positive. I've been waiting for my boat since last summer. Raj, my salesman, has been great. The rest of the staff are positive and enjoyable folks through my interactions...I enjoy when they poke fun at Raj (sorry Raj haha). I noticed issues from the factory, they took care of the critical stuff and will take care of the rest when I bring the boat back in. It was easy, and they were attentive to my concerns and friendly. Good service overall, with some issues 2 years of the 13. But, those were well handled. NOT this year, as I requested my boat mid-May with down payment as I usually do. They could not perform until after memorial day! I have heated storage and pay for full service of my boat every year. But being a long term well paying customer is now ignored. When my boat was not ready at Memorial day weekend, I then asked for a short delay for delivery (service could continue). They did nothing to ready my boat. I am now waiting another 1.5+ weeks, hopefully to get the boat. New ownership is not able to keep up with heated storage and full service. I would buy a boat somewhere else if you are expecting loyalty in service.

An awesome place to rent a boat. We rented a pontoon boat for four people, half off, 4.5 hours…read more(half day rental). An amazing experience! The gas was cheap since we had a small engine -- you pay for the gas at the end based off of how much of the tank you use. The service men and women at the dock were super nice. We were 15 minutes late returning the boat, but it was the end of the day and didn't ask for a late fee (it's usually a lot if you're 30 minutes late or more). The deal was awesome, the views awesome! No boating license needed because of the small engine. Overall amazing.
