Trail Creek Ranch - Sunrise view from the porch

    Trail Creek Ranch

Trail creek ranch is a hidden paradise in the Tetons. We celebrated our 30th anniversary here and…read morehad an absolutely wonderful time during our stay. Alex was so warm and helpful. The property is gorgeous and secluded. We stayed in Alex's Cabin, which was charming, cozy yet spacious, and well stocked without being fussy or cluttered. The mattress was very comfortable. The ranch is just 10 minutes from Moose-Wilson Road, which goes right into the national park. I can't imagine a better place to stay. We hope to be able to visit again.

I cannot say enough about our 3 night stay at Trail Creek Ranch. Our hosts Alex and Mike were so…read morehospitable and made us feel like home from the moment we arrived. We stayed at the cabin "The Ritz" and it was perfect for our family of 4. There is a bedroom upstairs with 2 twin beds and then the queen room down. A grill, coffee maker, mini fridge, and small kitchen with dishes, utensils etc. would have allowed for us to cook if we had wanted to. But we chose to eat at the several amazing restaurants nearby. Wilson is a 1.5 mile drive with some incredible places - Nora's Fishcreek for breakfast is a must! And Streetcar is an excellent choice with a great variety of quality food from Tacos, hamburgers, Poke bowls, fresh salads, and more. Or head into Jackson for more great choices - Snake River Brewing is recommended. We also were able to book a Wildlife safari with Brush Buck into the Tetons and it was incredible. We saw a grizzly and 4 cubs, a moose, mule deer, elk, pronghorn, and marmots. The boys also had an AMAZING guided fishing expedition up to Jenny lake (the Snake River is not fishable this time of year but the lake trout was abundant!). But back to the ranch. The Ritz cabin is adorable with a screened-in porch, fireplace, winding staircase and HUGE open windows that allowed us to admire the incredible view. Lilacs were left for us upon our arrival. The property is a horse ranch. Also there are a bunch of other cabins to choose from so if you need something larger, etc. check out the website. The horses are from private borders so you can't ride them, but you can feed them apples or carrots; which was the highlight of our experience here. Just spending time with the horses, walking trails, etc. There are several trailheads 1/2 mi up the road from the ranch, which one leads you up to to an incredible calm lake at the top of Teton Pass. I would HIGHLY recommend this amazing gem in Jackson Hole. It was the perfect place to rest and experience being on a horse ranch and enjoying the majesty of the Tetons. I cannot thank Alex and Mike enough for everything!!!

And if you go out the front door, you'll be immediately in downtown Jackson and close to the performing arts center. Plus right across the street is a brewery that has daily happy hour. As for the hotel comfort: this hotel is clearly a redo from an old hotel. Marriott has put their stamp on it and standardized to the SpringHill style and expectations. The room provided a couch with a pull out bed, workspace, fridge, microwave and a comfortable bed. Plus our room provided a great view of the ski slopes although no balcony. It looks like some rooms have balconies. The hotel also provides a heated pool and spa. Next to a pool area, there is a small exercise room. Lastly the hotel provides a suitable breakfast every morning: which consist of fruit, rotating breakfast items, cereal and more. As an ambassador member of Marriott, we were provided a welcome gift. Unfortunately they did not provide us a room upgrade.

It was much affordable compared to other Marriott brands in the area but does not compromise on cleanliness and comfort. Location of the hotel was everything. It was about a 15-minute ride from the airport and Grand Teton National Park. It's also right in downtown and walkable from all the shops, restaurants, bars, and Jackson Square. Appreciated that they offered complimentary breakfast, which was not bad at all. It had a variety of hot and cold food, and I was all about their oranges. I kept stocking up on them because they were so sweet and made for the perfect no cost snacks when my husband and I were out and about. There's water (hot & cold) and coffee available all day. Their onsite gym was actually one of the nicest and biggest I've seen for a SpringHill Suites. We plan to come back to Jackson during the Spring or Summer and will look forward to staying at this hotel again.

This was my first time staying in an honest to goodness Conestoga wagon, and it was truly luxurious. Not words I ever imagined typing. Pulling into Moose Creek Ranch was not immediately remarkable, but beginning to walk the grounds, I felt the persistent mountain breeze, heard the babbling Trail Creek, and saw the peaceful natural surroundings and well-manicured grounds all commanding my recognition. Then there were the comfortable environs of the ranch buildings, inclusive of the cozy lodge room, a game area, and a spot for breakfast, all with a chill music soundtrack wafting through. The staff were friendly through and through. We took advantage of a trail ride with Biscuit, our wrangler, the morning of the 4th of July, and enjoyed his capable, humorous guidance through a forest trail near the Ranch, capably tailed by Rooster the resident corralling canine. And now back to the Conestoga wagon. These things boasted bunk beds and a king size, with a full bathroom, small sitting area, pre-stocked mini bar with room for your own items, plentiful plugs/USB ports, and a highly capable mini-split AC system. Ridiculous (in a good way)! If the original Westward Ho movement had these things, Manifest Destiny would have hinged on thread-count, and we'd have never made it past Ohio. These things would be the Airstreams of the 1800s. Loved the experience. This might be the experience you needed, even if you didn't know it.

Our entire family believe's this ranch, and these wonderful people running this operation, are some of our favorites. Great food, a nice setting and the kind of atmosphere you don't find anywhere else! Pack Trips: Over the years we've enjoyed a couple pack trips, the kids were pretty young (7 and 8) then again ages 10, and 11. Both trips (two nights and 6 nights) were led by a great crew including Melissa, Peter Linn and Tyson. The entire experience(s) was just 5 star! A remarkable experience for children and parents. Wedding: So when it was the right time to get married, well it was a pretty easy choice for us. Our ceremony (wedding) was at Lin Canyon ranch of course, and every single detail was absolutely Perfect!! The folks here are honest, intelligent, classy enough to please an East Coast foodie ... just a terrific place which we hope never changes. Consider yourself lucky to experience this genuine Oasis in Victor, ID. .
