Overall a decent experience. Lots of local vendors and live music. The carnival portion of the…read moreevent had lots of fun rides for little ones and the event staff were very accommodating. I can't bring myself to rate it any higher due to one vendor that seems to be an annual fixture. The Italian American Grammy's Goodies needs some serious review before bringing them back next year. We ordered a burger and the Italian sausage and peppers. This is where the fun begins. Before we even left the stall, we noticed the burger had a happy little companion attached to the meat and approximately 8 inch strand of black hair. I informed one of the vendors and they were kind enough to make another burger and by "make" they simply took another burger out of the same batch. Fortunately, the second burger did not have the addition of human hair. We found some seating and now had the chance to taste the food. The buns were probably basking in the sun for far too long since the bread tasted a day old the burger I can only assume was made in the early hours of the morning and reheated, but I suppose you can't ever criticize them for serving food raw. As for the Italian sausage and peppers about halfway through the meal I discovered that I also won the prize of having some human hair. I promptly disposed of the rest of my food, which is a shame because the total came to almost $40. The portion sizes were quite good. That's probably the only real positive I could give the vendor. Hopefully, if they are brought back for another season, the fine people at the Department of Health could swing by their stall and make sure that their health code violations are reduced before the food begins to get people sick. One can only hope. In summary, Parker days is definitely something that I would recommend checking out if you're ever in the area when it's being hosted.

I went on the first day so no booths were open yet. Booths open on the second day. It was my first time. Parking is open and free on the streets in the surrounding area, and on site is limited and cost $20. Highly recommended for disabled. Find entrance to paid parking on the North side of Parker Road off of Mainstreet which is closed for the duration of the event. I met a politician (Greg Lopez (1992-1996)). and a news woman from CBS local news (Olivia Young, Douglas County). This the 50 year anniversary of the festival. My son showed me all around as he came for the first time a few years ago, so he knew the way. Seems like a familiar quality event for the town of Parker.
