I'm a total idiot. I…read morehad a Sunday-night dinner with a friend at a restaurant in Downtown Santa Rosa, and I parked my car in this garage. Just after we left, I rued the fact that I hadn't snapped a photo for a future FtR Yelp review. The next day at work, I noticed at lunchtime that I couldn't find my main credit card. I went through my wallet a bunch of times and tried to remember where I had last used it, and then it dawned on me that I had left it at the Thai restaurant--in Santa Rosa! I called the restaurant, and they had the card, and I was really really annoyed, but luckily, I happened to have driven to work that day (I normally took BART), so I was off on a grudging and unprepared-for weekday rush-hour trip from Downtown Berkeley to Downtown Santa Rosa and then back home to San Francisco. On the way back to Santa Rosa, I noticed some of the same sights I had noticed the previous day, but I didn't have my friend or anyone to talk to, and the traffic got really bad, and I was just so frustrated with myself that I had left my credit card there like a total idiot. I actually tried to look for street parking, but then I remembered having rued the fact that I hadn't taken a photo of the garage, so I parked here, took the photo, got my credit card from the Thai restaurant, returned here, and then drove all the way back to San Francisco. I was hungry when I got to the Thai restaurant, but it seemed like particularly bad form to eat at a place I had left my credit card at the previous day--never mind the fact that I had just eaten Thai food the previous night, and there were still leftovers in my fridge at home. So I did what any self-respectingly curious San Francisco resident would do in 2018 not long after the wildfires that seemed like a once-in-a-lifetime tragedy--if only--I took a detour through some of the burnt-out neighborhoods, and it was shocking. I don't remember where I ended up eating dinner, but it was somewhere off the 101 not halfway back to San Francisco. So thanks, random parking garage in Downtown Santa Rosa. You helped me park two times, even though I only wanted to use your services once. Easy parking, no nonsense, great. I don't know about those day rates, though. That, and I missed my FtR by like three weeks, which is why I've waited three years to write this review.

Stopped by downtown Santa Rosa for the first time ever for some lunch since I was working the whole…read moreweek in Santa Rosa. This garage was right across the sushi place which made parking a breeze. And the icing on the cake? Free parking for the first hr! The garage itself is self-serve, which multiple levels to park in. The garage is fairly well lit, and unlike garages in SF, fairly clean and not reeking of urine. We wound up spending 1.5hrs in DT Santa Rosa, so parking turned out to be a whopping $0.50!!!! Apparently in addition to the 1hr free parking, each additional hr is only $0.50 up to a daily max of $6. I only wish parking in SF was even remotely close to those prices! Only complaint was that the pay station wouldn't let me pay with a credit card since the charge was only $0.50. Although I did not have any dollar bills on me, I fortunately had some change in the car which allowed me to pay the parking fee. Definitely wouldn't hesitate to park here again if I was ever in DT Santa Rosa. Highly recommend!

Santa Rosa Plaza is everything a mall should be! Visiting this mall was like stepping into a time…read moremachine and exploring all things that were my childhood!! Here you will find a number of shops|stores that have gone out of business back home. Never did I think I would be running into a Sweet Candy, Shekh, Surf City Squeeze, and Choice!! This indoor shopping center opened its doors in 1984 and is Sonoma's largest multi-level mall. Coming here and seeing how alive this mall is was truly a breath of fresh air. Aside from a few malls thriving where I'm from, a number of shopping plazas that I've visited are deserted ghost towns. The food court isn't anything amazing but it sure does the job. I don't mind strictly coming here to shop and grabbing a bite to eat elsewhere. 5/5 stars, I hope this joint stands the test of time. I am so glad I stumbled across Santa Rosa Plaza and will make my way here each and every time I am in the neighborhood.

Parking in downtown Santa Rosa can be confusing, especially now that Courthouse Square has been…read more"unified" (in other words, becoming an ugly concrete plaza) It varies depending on the neighborhood. If you're in the downtown center, be aware of the signage. If you're in pocket neighborhoods (like the location of City Garden Doughnuts, Railroad Plaza), again, be aware of signs&curb painting. Santa Rosa has a lot of parking restrictions because the parking itself is restricted- there isn't much. The city garages vary in quality. YMMV

They have installed very unclear signage downtown stating something like "You must leave the space…read morefor the day after your meter expires". What they mean is that they don't want you to buy 3 hours then put in another 3 hours after that in order to stay parked there longer. Why couldn't they just state "3 hours max"? Instead, they have created confusion because many think that after 6pm, when there is no more metering or parking fees, that you cannot park there. The truth is, you can park in metered spots after 6pm for free.

This is the most shit ass parking garage I have ever had the displeasure of using. Its chaotic, with garage employees staffing the place to show everybody how to use the system, I even saw one guy get whacked on the head by the toll booth gate yesterday. Why don't they just hire one guy to work the booth. I fear that all the Santa Rosa public garages are run this way too.
