The person leading that session mentioned if you contact a couple times to check-in for status, your wait time might drop as spots open up. Initially, I was informed we had a 2 yr wait, and then we were admitted after 12 months (I emailed twice - once in February and once in May). Part of the wait is if you have a specific location. I think emailing to check helped clarify what locations were acceptable for us. Communications were good, particularly in the younger class, which had more notes. I felt like I could talk to my daughter's teachers and the director if I had any questions. My kiddo loved NTMC. She had a couple teachers in her toddler class, and a couple teachers in the large preschool class (3-4 teachers at any given time). Teachers cared about all the kids and they had fun. The director of the location switched 3-4 times and my kids teachers changed a few times. It is run as a business, but I'm ok with that. I have heard of other peoples experiences that are not similar to ours - like not having class staffing for a few weeks, or that it's not Montessori enough. I just never personally experienced those things. My kid loved teachers Makhayla, Rhonda, Kristin, Gaby, and Yenny. She told me yesterday she missed Teacher Rhonda! I thought it was reasonably secure and the schedule was age appropriate. Potty training was easy with help from NTMC. We switched to another preschool to have more structured education and try to get into a school so we wouldn't have to apply at K.

The teachers and staff genuinely listen to the needs of each student and family, and that level of care is something very special and rare to find. As a mother who previously had a very negative experience with another school with my older child, finding Discovery completely changed my perspective and restored my trust in what a school community should feel like. Unfortunately, when I moved to this area, my older son was already too old to attend this school, and I truly wish he could have experienced the same environment my daughter has had here. One of the things I appreciate most is how they work hard to keep children active and involved, especially for families who may not have the resources for expensive extracurricular activities. The after-school activities, family events, flag football, choir practice, singing activities, and the way they bring families together create such a beautiful sense of community. Our kids are very athletic and we have one that is attending a D2 school on athletic scholarship and our other children are competing in sports and getting play time and those sports that LCA does not offer, like Lacrosse, they are able to play through our neighborhood high school. I've watched it decline more and more since I graduated. The grade level education does not meet the level of education at public schools and especially does not compete with other private schools. Many students who left Life Christian felt under prepared at other schools because of the gap in education. Math and science programs are purposely under funded. The nepotism, rampant misogyny and over sexualization of young women, and unhealthy power dynamics should send any parent running from this institution.

Leaving him all day is the hardest, but knowing he has teachers there who genuinely care about how he is and what he is learning makes it so much easier! There are days that I get there to pick him up from school and he says he doesn't want to leave!!! Every teacher is the perfect blend of professional and compassionate and are really great at getting to know your child. We attended a parent-teacher conference and they had put together a whole portfolio of his art and what they'd been learning to show his progression over the time he's been there. Amazing school. My youngest son and I were able to partake in the Little Miracles Class, a parent-child class beginning at age 15 months. This class has been an encouragement to me as the parent and fostered relationships among other parents. And for my son, it has been a great time to develop social skills with other kids his age, and it's a great transition for him into the school environment. I have found the entire community (including other families/parents) at First Presbyterian Preschool to be a welcoming school family.
