My dad broke his hips. His surgeries went well and we were very happy. In April 2026, we went to the ER. He needed hernia surgery. We were discouraged from getting surgery. We went to Exeter. Had the surgery and dad is doing great. The hernia surgeon at PMC was worried dad would die on the table. I get it, surgery on a 95 year old is scary. I did tell them I was disappointed with Dr. Scott Phillips. Dad was in a world of pain. Exeter hospital did a great job. read more

5 stars!!! Thank you Parkland Medical Center for the exceptional care of my mother, who unfortunately passed away 03/22/26. I would like to recognize how very professional right from arrival in the ED, Heather was AMAZING!! SO professional and accommodating, offering food and drink and a room for privacy. Mom was transported to the 2nd floor, where the MOST incredible nurse Greg OGrady took the reins. He was attentive and gentle taking the time to explain every step of her care and making sure she and the family felt secure and supported. What stood out most was the genuine humanity behind the care. My mother was not just a patient ; she was treated like a person whose comfort and dignity mattered. In a time that was stressful and emotional for our family. I wanted to mention Yvonne as well, who was so caring right until the end, as well as her hospice nurse. Doctor Donald Yarbrough performed an emergency hernia repair for me in July 2024. I was rushed to the hospital due to what I found out was the constant bacteria in the drinking water from the co-op where I live in Danville, NH and the swelling from these bacteria caused the hernia to become obstructed, incarcerated and I even went septic because of this. Over one year later I am doing great. I only had a few complications last September and October when other bacteria was in the water and I experience some severe swelling, which I feared would tear the hernia repair. Doctor Yarbrough did such a great no-mesh repair, and it has held up great. Thank you for giving me my life back, Doctor Yarbrough. I have started working for the first time in 16 years, after a medical injury at Salem Hospital in Salem, Ma left me completely disabled. read more

I went to the emergency department, high fever and feeling terrible, it was staffed by students, by their own admission. The nurse mishandled my urine sample causing the lab to reject it. The technician drawing blood, after several failed attempts, had to call someone else in to finish. Very long waits in the exam room in between seeing techs, nurses and a doctor. My questions were not answered, they all were rude and seemed like I was bothering them by being there. I was sent home with a prescription for antibiotics and told to see a specialist. By the way the specialist I saw told me I had a serious infection and the antibiotics prescribed to me by the hospital were the wrong kind. He prescribed a different antibiotic along with a CT scan. I was very sick, the new antibiotics helped me recover. read more

I went to the emergency room for persistent breathing problems after having the flu the week before. They took an xray and said everything looked good. I told them that I have COPD and I have an albuterol inhaler that I have been using but does not help me at all. The doctor told me he was going to prescribe a nebulizer machine with some type of medicine to use with the nebulizer machine that would help me. I thanked the doctor. A nurse came in and hooked me up to a nebulizer with some sort of medicine telling me it was a triple dose. After 15 minutes I finished the nebulizer. They asked me If I was feeling better and I said yes. The nurse told me that they did not have a nebulizer to give me but assured me that the triple dose they gave me would hold me over till tomorrow and they would call in the prescriptions and I could pick up the nebulizer and medicine at CVS the following morning. When my wife went to CVS they said the Doctor never prescribed a nebulizer and instead gave me the exact same Albuterol inhaler that I already have and told the doctor I had been using and does not help at all. Parkland Medical Center lied to me and never prescribed a nebulizer and instead gave me the exact same Albuterol inhaler that I told the doctor does not work. Within 20 minutes of leaving the emergency room, my breathing was exactly the same as when I arrived there. I wasted over 4 hours and God knows how much money for absolutely nothing. Parkland Medical Center did nothing to help me. Perhaps Parkland Medical Center could tell me what I am supposed to do with this part of the nebulizer and no medicine to use with it. read more

They saved my life twice! First was a severe allergic reaction to lisinopril. I was admitted very quickly and intubated within 10 minutes and then apparently taken it up to ICU where I stayed in a coma for three days until things settle down. Second time was when I came in with pneumonia and a staff infection both lungs and I was admitted to the hospital right away and given plenty of fluids and antibiotics, but I had really let it go for too long and I just about made it there alive read more

All of the nurses are rude and will give u attitude and WILL make you feel terrible for being there. One nurse was rolling her eyes at me immediately when she walked into the room. They don't know what they're doing as one guy was doing an inside ultrasound and couldn't get it to work right and when i asked if they saw something wrong they would hesitate to tell me. Got misdiagnosed and wasted 7 hours of waiting just to drive home and get told it was just random pain when It was actually something extremely serious when I went to a diff ER (Elliott). Don't come here unless you want to feel humiliated and uncomfortable and treated terrible I should've gotten their names. read more

Avoid this place at all costs! I went in with an appendix about to burst and was left to wait for 8 hours when they were told I needed immediate emergency surgery. They also have a habit of employing out of network staff and then billing the patient separately (which is illegal). This place is known to EMS as "Park and Die" Just the worst. read more

I went to the ER here recently as I was in a tremendous amount of pain and I needed some intervention. So coming in was fine. Registration was easy. They took me right in and hooked me right up to the vitals machines and asked appropriate question. They took blood work and some ex-rays. However, once these tests were completed,. they put me in the room and forgot about me for hours. I had to literally flag someone down by waving my arms ( I was still hooked up to the vitals) and a woman came in and said that they were "busy". I told her I understand that however communication was poor and someone should have let me know what the next steps were, if any. The MD came in a short while later and discharged me - not helping me all. Just to follow up with my primary. I never should have came here. read more

This review is in regards to the billing practices. This facility works through various agencies for billing. I cannot express how shady their practices are. From hang ups, to paid bills being sent to corrections, all efforts to reconcile have ended in a maze of phone transfers. This is going to end up as a fraud report. Just avoid if possible. read more

Nothing but bad experiences here they are very slow to help they'll leave you waiting in the room for hours and no one properly communicates what is happening behind the scenes. This may not be a fair rating, I have been to the hospital many times over the years and I feel the departments are exceptional. Great caring people and they would get 5 stars. Its the ER, unfortunately as a family we have had to use them several times and the attitude/quality of the rent- an ER doc its awful. They have no skills and it just a cash business to them with what every agency sent them over. When I drive by and see the sign 2 minute ER wait times on the sign it should send a message to admin the local residents would rather drive to Manchester or even Boston rather than risk their lives with these clowns. I would go to U-tube and get directions how to set a broken arm before I step in that department again. read more

I was there with caring professionals who took their jobs seriously they treated me with respect and made sure i was being monitored by nurses who in fact did save my life. My thoughts are that i trusted them and was very comfortable and peace and quiet, they explained to me that i had pneumonia and COPD in November 26, 2025 is when i quit smoking cigarettes and in 19 years going on 20 years that i have COPD my pneumonia is cured thanks to Parkland Medical Center but now I'm just fighting my illness. The Nurses, Licensed Nursing Assistant, Assistant Nurses,Lead Nurses, Registered Nurses and Doctors all treated me like family. That is why I'm happy to choose my hospital Parkland Medical Center. Anything that i needed the Nurses would be there always they are my guardian angels. If i ever needed to choose any hospitals in the area i wouldn't ever worry for my treatment or any other accident issues with my health i wouldn't go anywhere else to keep me healthy and well they are the best in my area they are also very convenient to me and close by no worries ever and I'm picky on where i go and who is going to treat me. I'm ve4y impressed on how extremely busy that this hospital is their is a reason for that in 2024 they won awards in 2024 for "Best Care Award" they are building a brand new Recovery Rooms that are beautiful on the third floor. read more

Go anywhere but this ER. My Dr called in ahead of time stating severe dehydration and hard time breathing. 1st tech could not draw blood. Never saw Dr the whole time. They were finally Able to draw blood. Once my I v drip was Finished a nurse Came in and went over the medications that they were prescribing. When I questioned them, They said it was fine, And wanted to know if I could stand up so that I could get dressed to leave. No Doctor came in to discuss the blood work. Or x ray or anything. When my husband Picked up prescriptions, He was informed by the pharmacist that I was allergic. 2 days later I ended up in another E. R. Because I was not taking care of properly at this one. If you expect to actually see a doctor or a nurse go somewhere else. I had more contact with registration, housekeeping, and an EMT, then I did with any medical staff. The doctor had no idea about my history, what I allergic to, or how I had been told to go to the ER by another doctor. Dr. Did ordered an xray, gave me medicine, and didn't bother to check my blood sugar or hydration, eventhough I am diabetic and have history of dehydration and kidney issues due to UTIs. One medicine that he gave me effects blood sugar and another I can't take at all as I have a history of ulcers abd gastritis. Dr. Craig Dix might have known this if he actually met me and discussed things with me, rather than completely neglecting me! His nurse was just as bad, I met her briefly to take a urine sample which nothing was done with either. The onlynreason that i had any assistance to the bathroom was that the EMT responsed to my call bell after 20 minutes, snd she cane in shortly after. My discharge papers were given to me by the same EMT, not the nurse of doctor. It's been 2 1/2 weeks and the problem is not resolved! How could it be when the bare minimum was ordered without actually meeting the patient or knowing anything about them. Btw. A formal complaint was made and the hospital stated that treatment such as this is totally acceptable. That says a lot. I read a comment where they called the place " Park and Die". I understand why. I advise that people go somewhere else based on their treatment and decision. read more

I went for a CT scan for my newly broken ankle. I was on crutches and one of my crutches slipped on a wet Floor that was not labeled- no caution sign. Two days later I received a call from them to schedule my CT scan. I had not heard about another scan from my DR and asked why I needed a 2nd scan. They had not realized I'd already gotten the scan. So, these things happen, but the 3rd strike was when I looked at my insurance claims and they had not sent the charge to Medicare and so now I have to follow up and get the the paperwork sent in. read more

It's too bad I had to give even 1 star. Absolutely abysmal care.... I went here 3 years ago for protruding discs in my back. Within 3 minutes I was in a bed and had an IV started. Had an MRI the next morning and it was a fantastic experience all around. Fast forward to today. I went in at 4pm for the EXACT same pain I experienced 3 years ago. No IV, no pain meds, a lidocaine patch was put on. What a joke that was. 3 HOURS I sat in the room with nobody around. Finally, they take me for X-rays. Cause that's going to show anything! Sent me on my merry way with a script for prendisnone. WOW! Like that's going to do a Goddamn thing. Absolute worst standard of care I have ever experienced. I couldn't be more disappointed at everything that transpired (or didn't transpire.) Absolutely abysmal. I have always stood up for this hospital because it's always been nothing short of wonderful. Not so much any more. My dissatisfaction with everything is well below 1 star. I'm going to my primary tomorrow morning and getting an outpatient MRI. If that comes back showing I have slipped or protruding discs, I'll be suing the ever living shit out this dump. Stay tuned.... read more

Never treated wrist injury and they were told to pump stomach but instead doctor administered more medication (18mg)without consent.

I trust the staff at parkland as much as i'd trust a 10 year old providing medical care, they're incompetent. about 5-6 years ago a close family friend needed a gallbladder surgery, they botched the routine surgery and she died, last march my grandfather went in with a stress induced COPD episode, he had stayed for about two weeks and tested negative multiple times for Covid-19, one of their completely moronic staff members did not follow proper covid protocol, and went from a covid patients room to him, he then got covid and died of covid. This hospital is a joke, the staff here is a joke and i would advise you to have a first year medical student treat you before going to this hell hole. read more

On January 10, 2022 in the mid morning my wife brought me into Parklands ER in Derry NH. I had been excessively coughing for several days, my chest was tight, and was shallow breathing. The ER took me in, took blood and I tested positive for Covid (Yes, was vaccinated). Still coughing and breathing impaired, for 3 plus hours I sat in a room with staff coming and going telling me I did not sound good. During this time not one therapeutic or symptom relief was provided, NOTHING. The doctor simply said "We have no room so you can't stay", I was released in the same condition and escorted to the waiting room. If you have a choice, do not use Parkland, I would not trust them with life saving treatment. Prepare by finding an ER in the area, just not this one. read more

The only reason PMC got 1 star is because I had to give something for this review to post. Absolutely horrific facility. My husband and I brought our special needs son in because of dangerous outbursts. The one on one sitter in the hall would bounce his ball outside our room in the middle of the night. I got to listen to a security guard's opinion on "these behavior problem children" and how "these parents need to take responsibility." Then moved rooms 6 times in two days (and our son doesn't do well with changes due to his delays - intellectual disabilities with significant cognitive delays, learning disabilities, and receptive and expressive language delays). Then lied to when requesting a social worker. Disgusting! Horrible care! read more

Thank goodness after my nephew found the DNR on his father and changed it my brother survived Covid and made it home, although he is a long hauler now. Makes me wonder if we didn't find out about the DNR..,Would he have made it off the ventilator?.... Would he have made it home? read more

As a follow up to my original post, I was contacted by the head of the ER who defended the behavior of her employee.

They told me I had a sprained neck muscle. Turns out I have an aneurysm. Luckily I continued to visit doctors and write down lists of symptoms, and finally an urgent care doc elswewhere ordered a CT scan for me - where an aneurysm was clearly visible. I am extremely lucky that no rupture occurred after my fairly useless visit with Parkland ER. read more

I had to go to Parkland emergency room as I was having trouble swallowing due to swollen glands. They were able to get all my testing done and send me home in a matter of 3 hours when they were extremely busy with every room full. They sent me home to wait for my lab/swab results (which I would prefer over waiting in the waiting room) and the doctor himself called me with my test results and recommendations. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I hope I don't ever have to go back but I would feel confident and comfortable receiving care there again. read more
