I used to use another company in Canada for my letterpress biz cards but their service was HORRIBLE and NEVER answered their phone after leaving you on hold for 20 minutes. So I decided to look around for another company and found Parklife. Travis immediately answered the phone each and every time I called. He was a little more expensive but you get what you pay for. I never write reviews - however, Parklife Press is a printing service so exceptional that I had to open a Yelp account to write this review. I received the completed invitations, and they were SO gorgeous I could cry! My husband loved them too. Travis, you have no idea what a relief it was to be able to settle on a design so quickly, as I had agonized over so many choices with other printing services who were either slow to respond or just unhelpful by not addressing my questions with the same attention and swiftness that you had. You were responsive, quick to help, and very friendly to work with -- more importantly, you were flexible in working with my budget even though I was ordering fewer than 50 invitations. Most other services require a higher minimum. There's an abundance of other lovely designs, but I just wanted to move away from modern or rustic as there's a sea of those out there that just seem all too familiar. The more you look at them, the more they feel like a Monet - not as interesting once your eyes have settled on them. I wanted to give classic design a touch of the unexpected, and my invitation just takes the cake for achieving just that. The more I look at it, the more I love it. It is difficult to express in words how awesome Parklife Press and Travis Friedrich (the owner and artist) were throughout the entire process; from design to printing to assembly. We could not have been happier with his work. Getting custom wedding stationery printed needs a reservation far in advance, who knew? You might as well contact them before you get engaged. Screw it, maybe before you start dating We called a few out of town letterpress shops about a year out from our wedding and quickly realized that we were already far behind these crazy couples. We even tried to work with a local shop to no avail. I can't remember how we eventually stumbled upon Parklife, but we were sure glad we did. Being rookies at this, as I would assume most are, we weren't sure how to proceed. So, we called Travis and setup an in person consult. For our save-the-dates, Travis designed a coaster sized card that seemed to take a while to nail down. We had gone through over four different drafts before we were satisfied with the design. If we didn't like something, Travis wasn't opposed to going back to drawing board and starting over. He even sketched us a picture, which made it into the printed version. Our invitations were part custom and part borrowed from some of his standard designs. All of the letterpress printing was top quality; no misprints or bad cuts. His work is absolutely beautiful. Travis walked us through all his paper, color, and printing options. He will tell you what works, what doesn't, which costs more, which costs less, and everything in between. No detail was left untouched and we were completely confident that the final product would turn out exactly as we had imagined.. and it did. His services include an allotment of design hours depending on the total cost of the print job. So, the higher the cost, the more hours he can devote to your project. He was really flexible with getting us what we needed in short time frames and very responsive to e-mails and calls. 5 stars for the quality and service from Travis. I could nick it for being a little pricey, but we really did go nearly full custom. I'm sure some of the bigger studios would charge a little less, but you wouldn't get nearly the level of personal attention. read more

They are exactly what we wanted and for a reasonable price. He even helped with altering certain features to stay within our budget, as well as creative input for response cards. Working with Travis and Parklife on our wedding invitations was a dream! My husband and I requested/purchased samples from a number of letterpress shops around the country to get an idea of design and quality. A lot of shops had shallow impressions, cheap paper, or imprecise inking, but we couldn't find any fault with Parklife's Bookplate sample -- the paper was so plush and lovely and the quality of the printing amazing! Although we loved the Bookplate, it didn't fit the setting of our wedding, so we decided to get a copy of Illustrator and design our own, which saved us a bit of money as they offer a 15% discount if you can provide print-ready files. Travis was super helpful throughout the process, providing feedback on our design and helping us select custom ink colors. And I don't know how he did it, but he managed to print our entire suite and get it in the mail about two weeks after we sent over the final design and payment. We ordered our wedding invitations and Travis was great to work with! We were a bit short on time when I first got in touch with him but he was super quick when sending samples, putting together the digital proof and the actual printing. The fact that he was easy to get in touch with made the experience so much easier. The invites themselves are absolutely beautiful and exactly how we imagined them. Travis worked with my wife and I on our wedding invitations earlier this year and we couldn't have been happier with the results. At first I was nervous about working with a printer in another state (we're in California), but that fear disappeared after our first interaction with Travis. He was incredibly responsive, professional, helpful, fast, and quoted us a great price. We designed our own invitation and provided Travis with the photoshop file.
