Yelp...please do not listen to Parkoff and remove my complaint for the 2nd time. The address they give you is their office address, we are all tentants of theirs. THANK YOU! People need to know about this company. I am a current renter. Let me just say to all those contemplating...STAY AWAY. I have been a tenant for 2 years (we tried to put up with things and allow them time to correct the problems, but have finally given up and are moving), and in those 2 years I have had: - significant roach problems, that finally has led to us having to get an exterminator to come in every other week...which the building does pay for, but still...it is that bad, - constant leaking from above, - a kitchen sink that keeps leaking and causing mold to grow in the kitchen. - they refuse to put screens on the windows, so you can't open your windows without a swarm of gnats, flies, bees, etc flying in. - the worst shower experiences in history!! For 2 years, the water has come out either sculding hot, or ice cold. I either burn myself or freeze. there is NO inbetween. NONE! - the chimney they marketed to us as part of the benefits of the apartment...it doesn't work. They haven't cleaned the chimney before, and it is simply a fire hazard at this point. - they have not repainted the apartment since moving in. The paint just bubbles up and peels off. - the heating in the building is unacceptable. You have no control of it...it is either not on and in the winter thus freezing inside, or it is on too powerfully that it becomes an indoor sauna and you have to open the windows. Alas...that chimney would have come in real handy, Parkoff, on those days the heat doesn't work. - the front door is broken... i mean broken. At times, the bottom lock of the door locks up, and will not open with the turn of a key. This happened last night AGAIN!! So...how does one get into his or her apartment if the door is locked and will not open??? Well...of course...you climb onto the fire escape and you go through the window!!!!!!! - this leads me to the best part...the window doesn't lock!! that's right...this building manager could care less about your safety. I have asked that they fix the locks numerous times, and they do absolutely nothing. Of course...if they had fixed this issue, then I would have been locked out about 20 times b/c they have yet to fix the front door problems. When you call to request something, they all say they have never heard it before. Right...as if I don't have records of called 15 times a year. Oh...and now it gets even better!!..as I wrote this email, I was passed around to 3 different people, all claiming that they are not responsible for this part or that...and in the end, they put me on hold and said, "we will connect you to maintenance" ...and then that department, well, they just hung up the phone. If and when they do respond to your complaints/requests, it is done so by first reprimanding the staff at the building, which in the end makes us, the tenants look like bad people. He is the worst building manager, completely unprofessional and aggressive. He just threatens to evict you if you dare complain about how lazy and unprofessional his building staff is. Absolutely disgusting. MISS Rachel Santos, her title is in charge of the leasing department ... you can call that office 50 times a day to speak with her , leave 100 messages, email her, NO RESPONSE. This is so unheard of!!! For MONTHS, you get no response from her or this pathetic management company. I live a block away in LUXURY now, a 180 from the way I wa treated by this sleezy aggressive employees at Parkoff. It's completely bonkers !!! This woman won't respond for MONTHS regarding your lease questions. When you finally do get in touch with her, she mouths off to you like I work for her and I'm paying HER my rent . Most vile management company I ever encountered. Their staff on the upper east side building is also VERY unprofessional. Like the doorman don't get up off their chair to open the door for you, they just sit there until you look at them with your hands full waiting for them to open the door for you. One doorman was fired for hitting on a tenant , like he showed up to her apartment unannounced. What goes on? The garbage outside piles up for DAYS, and the porter who cleans it walks around the building with a miserable face, he is creepy and he also will mouth off inappropriately to you when he walks by you if he doesn't like you. Literally stay away. And the kicker ? They will keep your security deposit despite how many times you contact them. They were also sued bunch ( Google them) for unfair discrimination towards tenants looking to rent. Don't be fooled, this is not a full time doorman service building. Beware, these people are theives! They are extremely unprofessional and only interested in taking as much money from you through application fees as possible, hence recommending coapplicants which cost an additional apllication fee. I saw all the negative reviews for their Great Neck location, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt because their apartments are beautiful. They have multiple locations, but its all the same company. They are more interested In racking up on application fees than actually looking into if you are qualified for the apartment, they take extremely long to get back to you, so by the time they do, your apartment choice is unavailable. In the meantime dont count on following up, because they dont seem to believe in answering their phone or your questions. Their apartment options are tempting, but this management company is definitely the worst, they are unreliable, conniving,and cold hearted manipulators that just want your money. These people are the worst. The only reason they even have a star is because there is nothing lower. They kept trying to get more money from me each month because they made a computing error when they processed my lease. They tried to charge me late fees and penalties for no reason, I had to present my rent slips and bank statements to clear the charges. In the 3 years I lived there, there were fires every year as well as a rat infestation which is still going on according to my neighbors. Finally when I moved out they said I would get my security deposit back in 3-4 weeks which turned into 45-60 days which turned into 4 months. The building manager (who rarely answers his phone) blamed the office staff, the office staff (who are rude and usually on vacation) blamed the manager and finally they blamed the post office. She is a snake and so are the owners. The father and son are disgusting people. The people that work there are also low lives, just like their bosses. Anything for an extra dollar. They are horrible. They never answer. They dont do repairs unless you call 311. They are prejudice and biased. They lie and tell you what you want to hear and then make believe it never happened. The building on Cumberland street in Brooklyn is God aweful. The predator superintendent and his 30 year old son and live in partner harass, intimidate and bully my 19 year old granddaughter. The management company laughs when we called to complain. They are the scum of the earth read more

Very bad management company. Beware, it's also R & A Assets, LLC whose building(s) they manage. Basically, slum lords on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. There are many other buildings to live in and you are advised to pick one of them. read more
