Cleveland Cultural gardens is where various gardens are doing maintenance and sprucing up while we are under this HEAT DOME. Parks Tree came out on one of the hottest days, so far, and performed some much needed maintenance for our very large garden. We have trees, shrubs, native pollinator perennials and more. The three young men went above and beyond my expectations and the committee for our garden is pleased. I am certain I was not there but was not allowed/informed as to the dates of any visits or was not allowed to set a time and date. Seems you were in a big hurry to do the work. Please consider that your very wordy proposal was not completely understandable by a lay person and I was not certain which trees and which branches were to be trimmed. Others probably have the same experience. I also felt that to go ahead I must pray for good work or at least proper workmanship. No way you can convince me otherwise. I now have to hire another company to get the work done. The tree in the back is handling towards my home and wires and was not trimmed correctly. 4 hours of yard clean up for $300. That equaled 2 guys for 1 hour and 50 minutes who were under the influence pulling out half of the weeds on my small yard and dumping mulch over the rest. I complained and the owner said I'll just cut ties with you instead of calling me or coming out to see the shoddy job. Absolutely the worst customer service and waste of money from any contractor I've ever had. Very defensive and frustrating. Run to another landscaping service. Contracted for "by the hour" two hour pruning. Workers completed almost nothing and were doing nothing when I went outside after about 45 minutes. The lead worker was actually just hanging out in the bucket nowhere near a tree, the other two down on the sidewalk. I spoke with a worker who said the crane they had couldn't reach the branches. They were supposed to clear the snow from the driveway of the house next door and work from there. They were aware and in agreement with that the day before the job was scheduled. They brought a plow with them but they never used it or cleared the drive. They took off one branch that they could reach from MY driveway and a couple of low branches from another tree that was not the tree I contracted for. Then they began hiding. They were informed by myself and my son that we didn't care about the tree in my yard, they were contracted to prune the tree next door which is dead and dangerously hanging over my house. One of the workers told me they couldn't reach it. They couldn't reach it because they were in MY drive and not where they were supposed to be, the drive next door. When they finally cleared the drive that they brought the plow to clear, they were quite able to trim the agreed upon tree. They thought they could take down one branch and then hang out for a couple of hours and get paid. It didn't work that way. Since they were all so young, I figured a supervisor from Parks would whip them into shape, but Parks response was inexplicably hostile, defensive and dishonest. They knew the crew wasn't doing what they were contracted to do. They knew the crew wasn't working from the agreed upon location. But instead of seeing that the job was done and done correctly, they decided to attack me. I now believe that this is the reason: After the company representative viewed the work which I was requesting, the job was estimated to take less than one hour. And that's how long it did take. So all the rest of it was planned and contrived to stretch the job into the contracted time of two hours. The owner wasn't going to correct the crew, because they were doing exactly what they had been instructed to do. Horrible people. read more

I had a bad experience with this company. My neighbor agreed to let them drive through his yard to reach my dead trees. I paid them $350 extra to put down plywood to protect the lawn ($50 more than quoted), but they used some plywood and more rubber mats. The crane dug into the lawn and left two depressions about 100 yards long lawn and damaged some other landscaping. Their response was: "You signed a release". True, but a good company would have warned us that the crane would sink in, or would have stopped when they saw what was happening; after all, few customers know the weight or destructive potential of tree removal equipment. This cost me a lot of remediation $. Please be careful when dealing with this type of company and avoid these callous people at Parks Tree who do not look after their customers. read more

hello We had an appointment today for a estimate on the pruning of our oak tree. The appointment time was for 2:30pm it is now 6pm and have not seen anyone. We have questions for the arborist which is why we are home waiting. If this is standard service for the company that is terrifying. I understand if they are a little late but 3+ hours is extreme! Very disappointed on customer service. Answering Service can't do anything but tell us to email and Called WITHIN BUSINESS HOURS! Not helpful. Poor customer service! Do not use them! read more

We found Parks Tree on Amazon Local when they offered a 51% off voucher for tree trimming. We'd been ignored for 4 months by another tree service who'd given us a quote and diagram in October but never showed up to do the work and didn't even seem to be planning to after multiple contacts. Andy, with Parks Tree, was timely in contacting us as well as friendly and courteous. He emailed and called us to confirm appointments and changes in appointments. The crew showed up in horrible winter weather and risked frostbite in order to complete the services promised. They did a great job with single digit wind chills and high gusts of wind. They will DEFINITELY be the tree service we call next time we need any type of similar service. read more

I've been a customer with parks trees for years and have always had a good experience from them, this year one of their snow plow drivers slid off the driveway and hit our garbage can and a bush in our front yard, not a ton of damage but I wanted to reach out and let them know about it. Their office rep emailed me and said the driver did acknowledge that he hit the garbage can but not the bush so I sent pictures showing the one set of tracks in the yard and the minor damage to the bush. I was expecting them to just apologize and figure out how we would handle the damages once the snow melted. Instead I got an angry call from the owner of the company saying that we had left a nasty review on Facebook and called their driver a liar. Neither were true, but when I tried to ask him about what he was talking about he abruptly told me they were reimbursing me for the contract and cancelling our contract. I am extremely disappointed in the level of professionalism and customer service from the OWNER OF THE COMPANY! He should really leave all customer contact to his office manager as he was extremely disrespectful and irrational. I will be contacting all of the people that I have referred to let them know about this issue so they know not to even bother calling them. read more

These guys are wonderful. We've used them 4-5 times now for trimming big and small trees, removing bushes and doing general lawn clean up (cleaning and edging beds, etc). Each time they have been extremely responsive, flexible and prompt. Not only are they very good at what they do, every person on their team that we've met has been very polite and professional. today myself and all my surrounding neighbors were woken to banging on our doors at 7:50am to move cars off of our street. there was no notice posted the day before. then they proceeded to start loud tree cutting a little past 8am, knowing from the home owner who hired this company that they weren't supposed to begin til 9am. at 12:20pm when i had to leave for a doctors appointment i had to ask them to move tree trunks that were blocking my driveway. when i returned to my street at 3pm, they refused to allow me into my driveway. when i got out of my car and demanded them to let me into my driveway they got an attitude with me. when they realized that i wasn't backing down because i'm sick and shouldn't have to park my car all the way up the street, they moved a truck. however, not before yelling at me and belittling that i was the problem and when i asked what time they were supposed to begin (again 9am not 8am) the worker said fuck you. these guys are very inconsiderate and i am currently looking into whether they had a permit to close our street down for an entire day. to be continued read more

We hired Parks Tree to cut down two trees. One was very large. It took the crew over eight hours and I never saw them rest. The crew was courteous and some damage was done due to heavy equipments. The owner Andy had someone come out the next day to add some dirt and plant new grass! Very impressive! We highly recommend this company!!! read more

We were happy with the way the crew cut down the tree, but disappointed with what our lawn and the neighbor's lawn looked like when all was said and done. I understand that there will be some yard damage, but we were not prepared for the amount of landscaping work that would need to be done to restore things after the crew left. To make things worse, we found out that the neighbor's light post in their front yard had been damaged by a limb that fell. Understandable, but no one mentioned it. I had to find out from my neighbor after assessing the damage. Then, when I contacted our sales rep, he had to wait until he talked with the owner (who was actually there during the work). The sales rep called me back and I could tell he had the owner sitting next to him to guide him through the phone call. The owner was questioning my claim when it was OBVIOUS based on the tree branch marks in the yard and broken glass and plastic, that the damage was caused by the tree limb(s). If I were the owner, and I thought that even a light bulb was broken based on our work, I would have sent a guy to get a new light bulb and apologized. But they ignored it entirely. Then the owner acted like I was being a jerk for calling them and asking if they would help out with the cost of replacing it?!? They advertise that they are insured. I figured the idea of that insurance is to cover any damages they may cause. I guess not. Also, we were left with HUGE divots, dents and even tire tracks in our yard, and even the neighbor's yard. Maybe that is to be expected? But no one had prepared us for that. I've seen other services place boards down in the yard to drive on so as not to leave tire tracks. After multiple phone conversations with the sales rep, he agreed to have a crew come out and fill in the divots and tracks with top soil. Mind you, on their web site it reads, "Our tree workers pride themselves on their ability to work together in coordination to bring the tree down without damage to your home or landscaping. The clean-up crews ensure that your property and service area will be neat and tidy throughout the entire job and upon completion." Then, after we removed the stump debris and saw dust (we opted not to pay them extra for that) I saw that the stump hadn't even been properly ground 2 inches below grade as stated in their estimate. It had parts still sticking up at least a few inches above grade (at least). Which brings me to why I was inspired to bother with this review. We had this done a year ago, and I am now trying to decide what to do with the stump. Dealing with Parks Tree was so exhausting and frustrating, that I gave in and stopped trying to get them to make things right. (I know I shouldn't have, but I had other things that took priority at the time). We will now be paying another company to finish grinding the stump. I really got the feeling that the sales rep was between a rock and a hard place. It seemed like he knew things weren't right, but had to deal with the owner. I'm surprised at all the good reviews on here. I swear we are not the type of people that are hard to work with. If anything, we are usually too nice and don't demand much. Not sure if we got off on the wrong foot with this owner when originally negotiating a price or what? But I would never give my money to this guy again. When we were shopping around for a service, Parks Tree gave the most expensive quote. We decided to go with them because we wanted the most professional service. In our experience, we would have been better off going with one of the less expensive competitors. ------------------------------------------------------------ Update: I saw a response to my review from the owner. He suggested that I call the office and also said they would grind the stump deeper. I made the call and they arranged to have it done at no extra charge. I came home one day to see the stump had been ground down below grade. We are now able to start the process of growing grass over that area. read more
