The first thing the owners of Rustic Gardens Golf Center will likely tell you is that this is not…read morewhat is commonly known as Putt-Putt. Located on the southeast side of Indy, Rustic Gardens actually was born all the way back in 1924. Ownership has changed hands and the name these days is actually "Rustic Driving Range & Mini Golf." First off, pricing: $8 for 9 holes (takes around 45-60 minutes) $13 for 18 holes (takes around 60-90 minutes) $18 for 27 holes (takes about 120 minutes) Kids under the age of 3 are free. Club rental and ball included. Rustic Gardens offers private party space at their 9-hole and 18-hole course and access to the course comes with event rental. Reservations are recommended, though they can occasionally respond to short-term requests. Rates are from $150 for 2 hours (9-hole course) to $300 for 2 hours (18-hole course) with additional hours available. Check their website for the full details (I'm adding the website to the listing). Rustic Gardens also has a men's league and a women's league along with a Fall tournament. Rustic Gardens is a mini vision of a 27-hole golf course. It has natural grass, obstacles, and trees. Nearly every other mini-golf place in Indiana is a Putt-Putt type place with turf (generally easier). This course has some holes well over 75 feet - most holes are par 4 with some par 5 (with Putt-Putt, par 2 or 3 is a standard). Rustic Gardens indicates the course is disability friendly, though I'd likely disagree with them. Some holes are definitely not. I would agree that an effort has been made to improve access and I think those who are generally mobile (even those who are simply very good in wheelchairs) will find enough to have a good time here. Overall, this is a really cool and under-appreciated place in Indy and it's truly family friendly. Employees are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is quite pleasing. I have a couple friends who really love it here - so, there's no doubt I'll be back.

So unique and fun! If you're looking for putt putt, but a little twist, this is the place.read more

Good selection of beers. Sturdy outdoor picnic tables, some outside and a bunch in an open air covered space in case the weather is threatening. Order at the bar, take a number and your food comes served smile. Cut flowers at all the tables came from the property. It's all just really nice and chill! Oh, and the music was great!

This place has tons of parking which is free. The pricing for mini golf was really good better than anywhere else - unlimited and two different 18-hole courses (I will say the courses itself could use an upgrade - new paint or adding some objects to the course to make the established holes a bit more challenging. We paid 9 dollars per person. The driving range was also pretty cheap for buckets of balls - it would be a fun afternoon to bring the dads for driving range, the kids for mini golf and the moms can eat food and hang or enjoy the range as well. The food looked good, but we did not partake - the drinks were decently well priced - a can of beer 3.50 - a sway was 6 bucks. They have free concerts every now and then at their art installation, which is pretty cool, I also think it's cool how they do 5 buck Mondays. The staff was nice enough, my only complaint is the grass was a little overgrown, so we got ate up with chiggers and skeeters.

Since getting back into bowling in a big way this winter, I am checking out bowling lanes whenever…read moreI find them. Pulling into the parking lot, it looked like they might be closed since there were only two cars in the parking lot. Once inside, I discovered a side entrance that most people were using and additional parking in a side lot. They have a total of 24 lanes here. I found the whole place to be well lighted and more welcoming than some. Plus there was no blaring music interfering with my concentration. The price was four dollars a game on a Friday afternoon. The snack bar was closed but there were two vending machines for drinks and snacks. It was not crowded at all. A group of seniors was bowling in the middle of the lanes, and another group at the one end, and a few of us at the opposite end. There is an empty space between the lockers and the rental cashier counter station in the center that I understand will be a future arcade. I bowled my usual three games. The scoring system is okay but could be better. Anyone watching can see the stats, such as ball speed, pins left, etc., but by the time I get back to see the screen, that info is gone too quickly. The system at my home lanes, displays that info all the time and much more, such as top possible score and has a six digit code or a QR code to pair with an app on your phone to keep your scores and stats. The restrooms were nice and clean, plus well stocked. There is no T-Mobile signal inside this building and only two bars (part of the time) in their big parking lot. I like this bowling alley and would return to bowl again.
